The cartoon may have ended, but that doesn't mean Hasbro won't still be pimping out the toys and characters for years to come.
Each year the packaging for Rescue Bots changes, and this year the packaging has the sub-logo of "Classic Heroes Team" ... which Entertainment Earth is calling "All-Stars" (https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/transformers-rescue-bots-allstars-rescan-wave-1-set/hsf0719aa), so it could all just be existing characters.

The first wave of Rescan bots for 2021 has the Bumblebee car (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08MVTH49P/?tag=transformers-20) and Optimus (trailer version) Truck (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08QZQYD71/?tag=transformers-20), that are both minor redecos of previously released toys in the Rescan size class (according to my records, this 1st wave of CHT is wave 33 since that size class began, waaaay back in 2014).

Entertainment Earth has their release date being February, but they were both in-stock on Amazon early last month, so could be out in stores by now as well.

Hopefully they are releasing other toys this year under this new banner, and maybe some new moulds. The longer this line lasts, the more fans will hound Hasbro to give us some GEN toys of Rescue Bots characters.

Another new Rescue Bots toy has been revealed (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/02/23/transformers-rescue-bots-jumbo-jet-racer-optimus-prime-revealed-429152), which is a large size "playset".
It is Optimus Prime that transforms into a plane... and I use that word very loosely.

The plane mode has storage for Rescue Bots toys in the wings, making them very blocky, and very un-aerodynamic.

It comes with a Bumblebee toy that transforms into a race car.

It keeps surprising me that Hasbro always falls back onto Optimus and Bumblebee for their major Rescue Bots toys, despite those two characters having more than a glancing cameo over the 6 seasons of the cartoon. The parents might recognise those characters more and buy them, but the young kids watching the cartoon who haven't been converted into Gen1 fans, would be wanting toys of the regular cast to play along with the cartoon.

Beginning of February found a new Feature Bot in America, and now in Australia this week...

A new Rescue Bots Feature Bots toy has been found in America, at a Target - Bumblebee (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/02/04/transformers-rescue-bots-academy-6-inch-bumblebee-spotted-at-us-retail-428322).
The Feature Bots are about 50% larger than the Rescan range, and transform. It was introduced in 2019, and so far there have only been six toys (including this Bumblebee).
Since it doesn't have the new Classic Heroes packaging, this must have been planned for release last year, and ended up being delayed. It was a surprise to suddenly show up, as previous waves have been listed on Entertainment Earth, and this one wasn't there (they still only have the first four waves listed).

A new mould Rescan sized Optimus monster truck has appeared on the American Walmart site (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/03/13/transformers-rescue-bots-academy-monster-truck-optimus-prime-images-429964), and on the Entertainment Earth site (https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/transformers-rescue-bots-academy-rescan-wave-8/hse5366h), but is NOT the second wave of the 2021 Classic Heroes Team range, as it's listing on Entertainment Earth has in the web address that it is wave 8 of the previous Rescue Bots Academy packaging.
So even though it is technically a 2020 toy, it was released after the first wave of 2021 Rescan toys, and was put up on Entertainment Earth site after the 2021 wave.... which is going to make it tricky to decide where put this wave (toy) on our annual toy checklist.

Doing some research, I get the feeling that just like series 6 of Botbots, a number of waves of Rescue Bots planned for late 2020 might have ended up being delayed as well because of Covid (the factories would have prioritised the main lines, pushing back the minor lines if they were behind schedule or had limited production capacity).

According to Entertainment Earth, there are three waves between the last known 2020 wave (with the hotrod truck Optimus and race car Hotshot), and the new packaging style of the Classic Heroes Team (minor redecos of Bumblebee & Optimus in the first post of this topic).
The good thing about Entertainment Earth is that the web address of different waves is obvious by the letter at the end of the web address... but it also means that if a wave is not listed, it is almost impossible to know its contents, as no other online store that I know of sells Rescue Bots cases with the entire contents listed.

So... is Rescue Bots as a Brand now dead?

This is now out in Australia, and as I had pointed out in the Dinobot Adventures news topic, this one also does NOT have the Rescue Bots branding or wording anywhere on the packaging.
And looking back at the link in the TFW news posting I linked to in this topic, it doesn't say "Rescue Bots" anywhere in the article... so I think it was just automatically assumed it was part of Rescue Bots by whomever created that TFW topic.

That said, I think Hasbro has dropped the ball on not having new Branding ready for the youngest demographic toys to unify these kiddie Transformers (this one and all those redeco dinos)... as it makes it harder to market them to retailers, and if they don't get it, the won't buy them... regardless of how much demand their may be from consumers.

This toy is on sale here in Australia next Thursday at BigW ($49, down from $69), so I haven't bought it yet... when I do next week, I might post some extra out-of-packaging photos if no one else does before then.
But I can't imagine too many people wanting this toy, as it just looks terrible in person.

The Amazon listing had the code RBA, presumably Rescue Bots Academy, so it is interesting that the branding is missing from the packaging and everything.

Maybe a late change by Hasbro... or Amazon also just guessed it was a Rescue Bots toy.

Sighted by Dogboy at a QLD Kmart store, another new Rescue Bots toy that I haven't seen listed anywhere yet... a Feature Bot Optimus Prime, as a towtruck (different mould to the Hoist towtruck). Since Bumblebee was wave 5, this must be wave 6.

http://www.toycollectors.com.au/news/2021/062901.jpg

That means for the Feature Bot size class, we now have...
w1 - Medix
w1 - Whirl
w2 - Hoist
w2 - Wedge
w3 - Hot Shot
(w4 all re-release)
w5 - Bumblebee
w6? - Optimus Prime

Could this be the last of the Rescue Bots packaged toys?
I have seen on Amazon for a few weeks, listings for Rescan Chase and Heatwave with product numbers close to the "Classic Heroes Team" Optimus and Bumblebee figures that were very minor redecos... so if Chase and Heatwave are still coming (or have been cancelled), they are likely to be minor redecos as well in that short lived "Classic Heroes Team" packaging.

A surprise find in America, at a discount chain, is a 3-pack of Bumblebee Rescan redecos (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/09/13/transformers-rescue-bots-academy-bumblebee-3-pack-found-at-us-retail-440975) under the Rescue Bots Academy banner.
Since it it is at a discount chain for just us$20 (Rescan toys are about us$10 in America), it is possible that this was meant to come out earlier in the year before the Rescue Bots label was dropped on the packaging.
There was also supposed to be a 2nd wave of the "all stars" Rescan in RBA packaging (Chase and Heatwave), but they never showed up... so who knows how many other items were planned, or will show up as part of the Dinobot Adventures packaging.

Member Krayt has just found a new item at a Costco (I'd be guessing in Victoria somewhere), which is a re-release of a 2017 Rescue Bots toy, but in the new "plain" Transformers packaging that the recent Jet Plane Optimus was in.
It is probably more proof that the Rescue Bots brand is indeed finished, by re-releasing a Rescue Bots toy without the branding.

The 2017 version... which I think ended up being here at Costco too, but I can't find the price.

Wave 2 of the Classics Hero Team re-release (minor redecos) is out in America (on Amazon and Entertainment Earth), so might appear here since we got the first wave here.

Wave 1 (wave 34) FEB 2021
https://www.entertainmentearth.com/p...-set/hsf0719aa (https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/transformers-rescue-bots-allstars-rescan-wave-1-set/hsf0719aa)
TRA RBA ALLSTAR BUMBLEBEE (minor redeco car)
TRA RBA ALLSTAR OPTIMUS (minor redeco trailer truck)

The second wave breakdown on Entertainment Earth is a case of six figures, so the first wave must have had 3 of each (EE generally seems to sell sets instead of whole cases if they can break it up enough to not have too many unsold figures).
Since wave 2 has two Heatwaves to one Chase, EE is only selling Heatwave on its own, and must have been selling a set with the single Chase per case.
This would explain why Chase was twice the price of Heatwave on Amazon America, and as such, I have only bought Heatwave to compare the differences.

Wave 2 (wave ??) (??? 2021)
https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/transformers-rescue-bots-allstars-rescan-wave-2-case/hsf0719b
2x TRA RBA ALLSTAR BUMBLEBEE (re-release)
1x TRA RBA ALLSTAR OPTIMUS (re-release)
2x TRA RBA ALLSTAR HEATWAVE
1x TRA RBA ALLSTAR CHASE

With BigW getting in both waves of the Rescan Classics Heroes, I now have the fourth one (Chase... which coincidentally is the "chase" of wave 2, being packed 1 to every 2 Heatwaves), and this shows the minor colour differences, and not just a reissue. All four have therefore had varying levels of colour differences.

On the new one, the blue plastic is lighter, the red paint is lighter, the yellow painted parts are a more golden colour, and the blue painted roof light is quite a bit darker.

Rescue Bots branded packaging is the toyline that just doesn't seem to want to die.

After a delayed release of the Classic Heroes wave 2 toys and the grey Bumblebee 3-pack, I was really thinking that that was finally it... but two more Rescan toys have been found on ebay from Europe, from two different waves.

Heatwave as a plane (https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/rescue-bots-academy-heatwave-jet-mode.1225161/) (completely new) in a wave of five re-release toys, including the Wedge cement mixer that was originally released in the 2019 4-pack.

Ratchet as a redeco Ambulance from Medix (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/12/21/new-transformers-rescue-bots-academy-ratchet-images-446986), with a new head. The rest of the wave is not known at this time, but the product number and new environmentally friendly packaging means that it was intended to be released right now (Dec-Jan).

My original idea that the Rescue Bots toyline must be over because there were several RB toys released in non-RB packaging, was obviously far from the truth, as we appear to have even more RB packaged toys coming, with a 3rd wave of the Classic Heroes Team coming (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/01/01/new-rescue-bots-and-evergreen-listing-discovered-447593), with Grimlock (would be the motorcycle, which was only just re-released in the Dino 3-pack) and Optimus Primal (probably the T-Rex toy from 2014).

Okay, maybe not Rescue Bots packaging after all... as we now have images of the 3rd wave (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/01/23/first-look-at-classic-heroes-team-optimus-primal-grimlock-and-authentics-titan-changers-448876), and even though the packaging still has the toys labelled as "Classic Heroes Team", it has dropped the "Rescue Bots Academy" that was on the first two waves.

The interesting thing is that the two new toys (Grimlock and Optimus Primal) are new moulds... something that I wasn't expecting, as this Classic Heroes line was originally just minor redecos, and with the end of Rescue Bots packaging, the toys just seem to be place-holding until Hasbro comes up with a new focused toyline for younger kids.

More re-release Rescue Bots toys in generic packaging, this time exclusive to Amazon.

This is a 3-pack of dinosaurs, which are identical re-releases to their originals, but... the three moulds were only just released last year in the Dinobot Adventures packaging (most of which is still out in stores here).

The 3-pack is identical re-releases of two toys from 2014 (Bumblebee raptor, Optimus t-rex) and one toy from 2019 (Grimlock motorcycle), all identical to their earlier versions (based on the in-hand photos by customers)... and as noted above, it is actually the second time in just a year for all three of those molds to be released by Hasbro (Bumblebee and Optimus were redecoed and partnered with a transforming weapon, while Grimlock was released in that 3-pack with Predaking and Snarl).

Some fans on foreign fansites are complaining about the product name, as the 3-pack is called "Primal Team Up" ... which is because it is dinosaur themed, not Beast Wars themed... as dinosaurs (not Beast Wars) is what young kids and their parents will more likely recognize from the word "Primal" (the target demographic of these toys).

And in all fairness, if the Optimus t-rex toy in this 3-pack had been called "Optimus Primal", that would actually match the name of the 2014 large sized version of that red T-rex Optimus toy (the smaller version had "Optimus Prime" on the packaging while the larger version had "Optimus PRIMAL" on the packaging).

The listing is by Amazon America which has customer reviews already (https://www.amazon.com/dp/b09h1cr9s9), suggesting that it was released last week, but there is a link on the Australian site (https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09H1CR9S9/) for imported American stock that won't be released until August. The price though is pretty good for 3 Rescan toys, at au$55 (which would be $57-60 in stores on their own).

It is definitely a new release, with a product code of F4447 (fortunately for me, all identical to ones I already have)... and in generic packaging like the Jet Plane Optimus last year, the re-release of the giant Flip-Racer Optimus/Trailer pack last year, and the unreleased Rescan Gorilla Optimus and T-rex Grimlock toys.
Between the generic packaging and Dinobot Adventures packaging, it's as if Hasbro doesn't want to use Rescue Bots labeling if they can help it, but still haven't figured out what to call a unified toyline and don't want to give up on that age-group demographic with Rescue Bots styled toys.

The gorilla Optimus and dino Grimlock? I guess they count as wave 3 of the Classics Hero sub-series, and it is good to hear that BigW are getting more of them, as they got the first two waves.

That wave was also just found in America (Optimus & Grimlock (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/04/24/transformers-classic-heroes-team-optimus-primal-grimlock-found-at-us-retail-454715)), catching up to us again, after we had Ratchet came out here a month and a half ago, and now Ratchet was also found in America (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/04/24/transformers-rescue-bots-academy-ratchet-found-at-us-retail-454530) at a different retail chain.

Yes... Megatron, even with a Decepticon symbol.... and turns into a drill tank.

Since Classic Heroes Team is no longer "Rescue Bots", I guess it is okay to have both good and evil characters in it now (it was often noted that the Rescue Bots toyline would never have Decepticons in it... but did have a couple of "naughty" characters in the cartoon, and the Morbot in the toyline).

Another Rescue Bots packaged toy from Hasbro has just been found, while they are already a year into releasing "Classic Heroes Team" toys without "Rescue Bots" labeling on them.
It's the toyline that just refuses to die...

I found at a Kmart store yesterday a "Rescan" sized Bumblebee toy that had the alt-mode of the 2020 Hotshot race car toy, with a new head and a remoulded chest to give Bumblebee a normal Autobot logo, instead of the Rescue Bots logo. Everything else appears to be the same.

I checked the product number, and sure enough, it was newer than most of the toys released this year in Classic Heroes Team packaging.
And the really interesting thing that I noticed, was that the "Rescue Bots" packaged Ratchet toy from earlier this year, has a consecutive number to three of the "Classic Heroes Team" packaged toys, suggesting that these toys are being designed by one department at Hasbro, and then some other department is deciding later how to release them, either as Rescue Bots or as Classic Heroes Team... and, even splitting them up across different waves too...

Optimus Primal (CHT) - F4442
Grimlock (CHT) - F4443
Megatron Tank (CHT) - F4444
Ratchet (RBA) - F4445
-
Bumblebee race car (RBA) - F4637
Megatron Gater (CHT) - F6201
Starscream (CHT) - F7287 (listed on the Canadian Amazon listing posted on TFW about a month ago)

Notice that, even though the two Megatron toys were released together about a month ago, the Tank Megatron had a product number that suggests that it was developed at the same time as Primal, Grimlock and Ratchet, but were then released in three different ways (Primal and Grimlock in wave 1 of pure CHT packaging, Megatron in wave 2 CHT packaging, and Ratchet in RBA packaging).
The other interesting thing is that here in Australia, Kmart seems to be the the only still getting these Rescue Bots Academy toys, while other retailers here appear to be getting the Classic Heroes Team toys.

As the Rescue Bots branding continues to be retired, the last two of the Feature Bots (convertible Rescue Bots toys that were larger than the regular "Rescan" toys) has been found in a store in Peru, in the new generic kids packaging - that's the Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Feature Bots (https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/peru-transformers-sightings.155096/page-4#post-20501654).

Just noting that these two started showing up at Kmart stores here in Australia during November:
