Commander Class Rodimus Prime revealed

Amazon Japan have posted images of Commander Class Rodimus. We can see the trailer for the first time and we have large, clear images of the robot and car modes.

Now I just want to know how big the robot mode is...

I like it for the most part, but I hope the car can be pushed further into the trailer. Looks like the tower on the battle platform could be removed too.

I'd say not as you can see the spoiler wedged right up into the trailer.

The guy ain't cheap. At 14300 yen RRP. I likes the look of him though and have placed an order. They've managed to keep him fairly well secret as well which I think is impressive.

I was thinking maybe the spoiler can be moved forward to allow the car to go further back, but that's probably very wishful on my part. :p

Anyone got Earthrise Prime and SS86 Hot Rod? I'd reckon Rodimus will be as tall as Prime

So all around a rather short "Commander Class" compared to say Jetfire and Sky Lynx

Rodimus is supposed to be leader class, like how SS'86 Hotrod was at a higher price point because of the parts count required for the articulation and accessories.

Why not go the G1 Toy or MP9 route? That way the vehicle mode would look a lot more cohesive IMO. Sky Lynx was just the G1 toy with more articulation & people ate that up.

Unpainted hubcaps? Come on, Hasbro, this isn't some $29 deluxe class figure. I'd rather them ditch the Sword of Primus and give me silver rims

That's the reason I'm still using that terrible POTP Rodimus as my canonical Rodimus, he looks like old grumpy Rodimus, not young enthusiastic Hot Rod.

He looks a lot more together than the POTP leader, which I was already a fan of. He definitely doesn’t resemble SS86 Hot Rod stylistically though and I’m not super impressed with the colours either. A dark maroon would have been much better and a light-coloured face.

It really would have benefitted the alt mode to just have the truck/caravan front like the original Rodimus toy, if not a little cleaner. The sacrifices made to accomodate the ugly car mode make him look like a wonky car jammed into something instead of the whole winnebago.

It's not the worst thing in the world but at the same time it'd be nice to get a Rodimus that is just Rodimus and not have a Hot Rod car mode worked in there too. It's not like we don't have a heap of Hot Rods already, including the recently released SS86.
Let Rodimus be his own thing.

I have a feeling that there isn't any room to shove the car further back into the trailer because of the floor of the trailer's deck. Therefore, it wouldn't matter if the spoiler could move - there's only so much space there.

You can see this in the shot of Rodimus manning the gun emplacement - the front of the trailer is behind Rodimus's foot, and that orange piece has what looks like a slot for the spoiler.

I heard rumour/speculation that hasbro cmdr class was going to increase from 70usd to 100usd next year onwards as the titan class phases out and there will be 2 cmdr classes instead

It looks like TakaraTomy is taking the lead on the revealing of Rodimus Prime, with a big spread of images in this month's Figure King magazine (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/03/25/transformers-kingdom-commander-class-rodimus-prime-new-images-trailer-comparison-pics-430384)... before Hasbro has even acknowledged its existence.

The robot mode looks very rough, almost like a pre-production figure (hopefully).... which would be strange, as this toy is only 3 months from being released by Hasbro, which means it should already be produced, so that it can be shipped around the world and sent to retailers before the end of June.

I think there will be enough Rodimuses. Like Trent, I too have passed up Sky Lynxes when they restocked at Big W - he shelf warmed for a while at my local Big W. And I've passed by ones on sale at a couple of Myers. Seeing that Myer is getting wave 2 Kingdom Leaders in now, I have a feeling Rodimus will show up there too and maybe even obtainable on sale. So no mad rush to get Rodimus for me.

BigW got a second batch at the end of the year... but the exclusive first release batch did sell out fast at most stores. (some stores got in a lot for the June toy sale, and took about a month to sell out)
But the key was that stores that put out SkyLynx early, pulled them back, and when the toy sale started, there might have been quantity limits. If all of the stores put out Rodimus as soon as they get it, I think they will be snapped up by scalpers, who will have 3 months to sell them off locally or internationally at significantly higher prices, to those not wanting to wait until September for the Global release.
