I think I ordered this, the new image is appearing on my Amazon.com.au orders page next to “deluxe Mirage”, but when I click to see the item listing I get an error?

Poor Grimlock, they took his beautiful dalmatian spots away :(

Yep, some items do that.
You must have used the pre-order button while it was still visible in the Transformers hub, but you can still add it now if you knew the ASIN id and use the wishlist links method

Does using the app versus web browser (or vice versa) make a difference?

The optimistic answer is that maybe they're listings that haven't been filled out, or marked as visible.

Like how Kingdom wave 3 is visible now they're officially announced.

I have other similarly unannounced items on order through the wishlist method, like Slammer, Pipes, Golden Disk series Jackpot, and Artfire.

Not really. Should still be able to pre-order either way. As long as you can access the Hasbro TF page, you shouldn't have a problem.

Hmmm. Who decided that those two toys went together in any way? At least the previous two-packs mostly made a kind of sense.

Guess I'll have to find someone to split it with again...

The 'Orc' reference to 'Elf' on Mirage is quite clever.

The link to the Amazon Australia listing, now up for preorder.
For July 7th... a lot earlier than the American listing of November.

Transformers Generations War for Cybertron: Kingdom Battle Across Time Collection Deluxe WFC-K40 Autobot Mirage & Maximal Grimlock pre-order available for $77.23 from Amazon AU (https://www.amazon.com.au/Hasbro-Transformers-Classic-Deluxe-Mirage/dp/B08SWGGT5Y). Free delivery for all orders over $49.

Definitely.

I find it funny that I missed out on normal Siege Mirage but got Decepticon and Holo versions meaning this one won't really be a double up.

I got an email from Amazon AU apologising for getting the release date wrong. I'm guessing I can expect it in November.

I put my order in earlier today and I must admit that I don't feel a buzz. It's not buyer's remorse but just not a lot of enthusiasm. I'm not a fan of Beast Wars, so that's wasted on me, but the price is reasonable (Voyager + Deluxe for discount retailer price and free shipping). It's a good Mirage to me, better with the open cockpit, and of course the colours. Perhaps the best official Mirage to date. Maybe it's the fact that it went to #1 Action Figure on Amazon some hours later, making me think all the scalpers went into a frenzy. And exclusives really annoy me. Or maybe that the order will end up cancelled or crushed to hell and back.

I wish these things were just sold everywhere.

My order is linked up now and also got that same message about the release date changing.

The Grimlock is growing on me.

From what I can see, Mirage is a fairly decent remould to make it more "Earth mode" than the Cybertronian mode Siege toy... with several new parts, and the back end of the car mode is transformed differently, so that the spoiler/arms are further back and pointing backwards in car mode.

It's a bit like Netflix Bumblebee... it's a new-mould/significant-remould of a major character that I think should be in the mainline.
Meanwhile, the more obscure character of Beast Wars Grimlock (and this toy doesn't homage that original toy very well with it lacking the right paint details), deserves to be in a small-run exclusive release like this... it is just a shame that the people wanting Earth mode Mirage, have to buy a Voyager Beast Wars toy to get it. (there are more Gen1 fans than BW fans, so Mirage would be the more sought after figure of this pair)

Its smart marketing

I can't say I'm rushing out to get this.

I've always really liked the idea of Grimlock as a Dinbot repaint/tool, but this doesn't look very good. I think it loses something for not having the stripes.

New Mirage is cool enough that I might get it on a whim if it was a standalone deluxe, but I'm not paying for the set just to get a slightly superior retool.

Despite not being 100% convinced, I've pre-ordered this. Mainly for the Grimlock. Unlikely we'll get a better BW Grimmy repaint, and while I'm sure this mouId will be re-used again, this is my preferred repaint character-wise.
Also I dont have a WFC Mirage at all, but not overfussed on his previous incarnations either. (Classics Mirage is still THE Mirage IMHO). I'll wait and see how he is, but likely I'll probably sell him.

Screen-shots from an in-hand video (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/05/29/transformers-kingdom-deluxe-mirage-in-hand-images-434351) (from one of the usual early sources) of Mirage, shows us that this toy has more than 50% new parts... so I'd be designating it as a "new mould with recycled parts".
(if it was less than half new, I would call it a major remould... but this toy even has different engineering/transformation for most of the toy, making it more of a new toy than a remould of an existing toy)

Looks like this 2-pack has a July release after all, as it appears to be in-hand in Asia (and Amazon Australia had it dated for July 5th)... and some in-hand photos of the pack can be seen here (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/06/25/transformers-kingdom-voyager-maximal-grimlock-in-hand-images-436238).
