A day after the name of an upcoming Crossover toy was leaked, Hasbro have come out to tease us with the details of a completely different Crossover toy.

The next to be released will be a Jurassic Park crossover toy... but they haven't shown the toy or revealed its robot name, yet.

I think it was rumoured to be called Rexy, as a reworked Kingdom Beast Megatron toy, but we still have to wait and see.

I like the new head on Tyrannocon. The Explorer seems a little basic, but was probably engineered from scratch on a time limit by the Hasbro designers. I don't really see anything there that they could have built off on.

Give it a Hoist- or Trailbreaker-esque handgun accessory and a slight remold, and I could see that JP mold making a solid Generations Armada Red Alert.

To be honest I don't think either of the names in this set are that great.
That aside, the toys themselves look really good and I was prepared to skip this set.
I wonder if that Ford may be retooled heavily into an upcoming Skids....

I'm sure its a completely new mould, with no parts shared or anything, but there seems to me to be a lot of SS86 Jazz in the engineering there...

And yeah, it'd be nice to see some of this in a new Skids :) Not the elbows, obviously, or the feet, but the rest seems a reasonably good fit.

The details and images below are from the Amazon America listing (https://www.amazon.com/dp/b096gc12qx), which has this set priced at us$105 for November 1st. It quotes a shipping price to Australia of about us$41, which would end up costing about au$200 shipped... a hefty price for a Leader and what could be a Deluxe (or even for a Voyager). Even in America it is expensive, as their Leader class rrp is us$50 and Deluxe rrp is about us$20, making this set about us$20-30 more than it probably should be.

But for us here, this set is supposed to be released here (there was a listing back in April (https://www.amazon.com.au/Hasbro-Transformers-Project-Action-Figure/dp/B08YJYY5BF), but was removed for being listed too early), and hopefully they put it back up soon.
The price at that time was au$92, which is clearly incorrect as it is a lot less than the American price, but it will be interesting to see if Amazon Australia keeps it at that price when the listing returns, or if they will cancel existing pre-orders and bump up the price to match the American price.

Okay, correction.... the listing is back up on the Hasbro pre-order page on Amazon Australia (https://www.amazon.com.au/stores/page/7CF05A11-8CB0-4712-B647-C0B087568F02/), but you still can't get onto the actual product page.
But, since it is back on the pre-order page, you can pre-order it.... at au$91.70!
It also says that it is being released October 1st (to arrive October 3rd to 5th), so it will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

I just pre-ordered it, so maybe get onto it before they change the price (back) to what it should be. Because it is currently at Leader pricing, which means you would be getting JP93 free.... if they don't change the price and force people to re-preorder it at the full price.

After Maverick I'm not convinced that we'll see that Ford Explorer in a mainline release. You'd think that Hasbro might be able to find some use for the Maverick mold as a Jetfire, though I guess they're still wary of Harmony Gold.

I'm a bit surprised that its the Ford Explorer and not a Wrangler. The Ford just sat on rails and got tipped in the movie.

Looking at my Megatron, I think that's just due to plastic colour choices and paint shading giving a better profile.

The specific positioning may be playing a factor too.

The Jurassic Park 2-pack is scheduled for release here in the first week of October (probably be delayed though), and someone has already obtained a packaged sample to show off, showing us both modes of each toy, compared to some related previous toys (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/09/10/transformers-collaborative-jurassic-park-tyrannocon-rex-autobot-jp93-in-hand-images-440806).

I could probably see someone doing an upgrade head for the Jeeep. Also the new Maximal Grimlock should look great with the T-Rex. I haven't gotten any of the proper Beast Wars dinosaurs but these Autobot versions are definitely more my thing.

I don't think anyone else had it on offer here other than Amazon Australia... and they appeared to have had their supply cut significantly as a lot of people had their orders cancelled some time ago.
It's a bit weird, as the other collaborative toys have had decent numbers... but maybe it will show up at other places when it gets released.

With the cheap price Amazon had it for (if we get it for that price) the Jeep was a basically a free bonus with a repaint of the T-Rex Megatron so that's not too bad. If you're paying the larger prices then yeah that's more worrisome.

For all of those who had their orders cancelled and are having trouble finding another option, according to TFW it is no longer going to be an Amazon exclusive in America, and will be sold by various other "fan channel" sources for release in January.... which might make it easier to find soon, even if it has to be imported.

After your post I talked to amazon support about why my order was cancelled since I ordered almost a month earlier than you. They confirmed that there are orders that were done later than mine that went through and were sorry that mine was cancelled. However there was some leftover stock so they reopened my order at the original price and it should ship as soon as my payment goes through!

If anyone else had their order cancelled it is definitely worth talking to support!

On the BigW website, this item at first glance made me think it was the Transformers Jurassic Park set (https://www.bigw.com.au/product/jurassic-world-legacy-collection-tyrannosaurus-rex-escape-pack/p/194804), but it is a 2-pack of non-converting toys... by Mattel.
Even though the vehicle and T-rex are supposed to look like they do on screen, the way they are set up in the packaging, and to an extent the similar colours, makes it look like Mattel has copied what Hasbro released (the Hasbro set would have been started a lot earlier, to design a converting JP vehicle and be released half a year earlier than Mattel).

It is interesting to see BigW listing something as a "pre-order", which feels like a new thing for them to do (and the difficultly of keeping track of among the various stores), but I could be wrong if this isn't new.
If it is a new strategy for BigW, we could start to see the limited edition Transformers items be listed like that too?
They were supposed to have several of the Movie Masterpiece toys at BigW, and a pre-order/pickup process would make more sense than having those expensive items out on the shelf to get damaged.
