You like reveals? How about the remaining Studio Series Wave 1 characters for 2022? All inspired by Transforrmers: Bumblebee! We know you want to build the epic Cybertron Battle opening scene, and now you can! For the first time in Studio Series, check out Deluxe Class Autobot Ratchet, Brawn, and Wheeljack, PLUS Voyager Class Soundwave.

And that’s not all! We’re introducing Core Class to the Studio Series line for the first time ever! And what better way to kick off this new Studio Series scale than with Ravage, who converts into a Cybertronian cassette that fits in the Voyager Class Soundwave figure’s chest ? And check out Core Class Shockwave with his Cybertronian tank mode and a first look at the new open window packaging for the Core Class scale.

Parents, be sure to check back in December for exciting pre-order information.

Shockwave may be out of scale, but it is a modified TFPrime Shockwave.... so if theybwanted to cut costs and rush one out, why not the Voyager sized TFPrime Shockwave?

Not keen on Ravage having that big phallic thing attached underneath. Couldn't they have it plug in on top?

I guess an Ironhide is coming too...

Sigh

That Soundwave alt mode is absolute dogwater, which is a disappointment after hot good Wheeljack's looks.

Brawn looks great, that's a purchase, as is Wheeljack. I'll skip Ratchet for Ironhide.

I agree with SMS that soundwave alt looks interesting, I'll keep him in robot mode, might also get ratchet and ravage

The other deluxe in that 2022 wave one is SS86 Perceptor and the voyager in the wave is rumoured to be SS86 Junkion.

Shockwave's appearance (and the rumoured core class SS Ratchet) is a bit of filler - but it's giving kids toys of the popular/evergreen characters at the cheapest price point (same as Kingdom's core class Megatron, Optimus, Soundwave and Starscream). It's what the "legends' class was originally meant to do all those years ago! It's very likely a Voyager/Leader BB Movie Shockwave will come along. In the meantime the small characters (like Ravage, and Rattrap and the rumoured Rumble, DOTM Laserbeak and Exosuit Spike toys) get released in "scale" alongside popular characters. (I see a lot more Dracodons pegwarming and few Soundwaves).

The core class box does a fairly good job of hiding how small Ravage is at first glance (he needs to be small to fit inside the voyager Soundwave).

It's been noted that Soundwave's alt mode is not far off the design he was given in that wild GIJoe/Transformers crossover comic, so it's not come completely out of nowhere.

I think the designs are generally quite nice, and if these had been in the WFC Siege line (with G1 rather than movieverse heads) I'd be a lot more interested. Brawn and Ratchet are both appealing but just not what I want in my collection.

Poor Soundwave. His alt mode really looks like 'wotevah'. Siege Soundwave also had a crap alt mode. What's wrong with a futuristic cassette player?

Yep - someone on Reddit posted a picture of it. https://www.reddit.com/r/transformers/comments/qqk95u/what_ss_soundwave_is_referencing/

Someone has managed to snag a copy of Soundwave, with box... which either means, it is soon to be released globally, or it was nabbed from a Hasbro source.
It all depends on when it is supposed to be released, as there are conflicting sources saying either January or April.

The in-hand images can be seen (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/11/22/possible-in-hand-image-of-transformers-studio-series-bumblebee-movie-soundwave-445297) here as well as here (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/11/23/transformers-studio-series-ss-83-bumblebee-movie-soundwave-additional-in-hand-images-445372).

Just keep in mind that Soundwave is is being sold as a Voyager, and yet it appears to be the same size as the Deluxe Dropkick in vehicle mode (the robot modes are more significantly different though).

It looks like a couple of the "early leakers" have been fighting over the new Studio Series Core class toys Ravage (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/11/26/studio-series-bumblebee-core-ravage-voyager-soundwave-in-hand-images-445538) and Shockwave (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/11/26/transformers-studio-series-core-class-bumblebee-movie-shockwave-in-hand-images-445588).

Someone in Asia must be making a fair bit of money from these competing leakers.

As online stores in America have started listing pre-orders for the Bumblebee Movie wave of Studio Series toys, we have more official product info (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/12/07/hot-pre-order-alert-bumblebee-movie-studio-series-cybertron-modes-446329), and RRPs... which look to have gone up again (Hasbro Australia takes the easy option of generally doubling the US RRPs for Australian RRPs, and adjust their wholesale prices accordingly, so expect more price increases next year here).

We also have Studio Series numbers for these toys (I was expecting them to stop the numbers from next year, as they were closing in on 86... which would be interesting to see what toy is SS86).... but no numbers for the Core class it seems.

With the toys being out in 2-3 months time, they are already showing up in the hands of people who have "contacts" at the factory - Ratchet (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/12/03/transformers-studio-series-deluxe-class-bumblebee-movie-ratchet-in-hand-images-446064) and Brawn (https://news.tfw2005.com/2021/12/02/transformers-studio-series-deluxe-class-bumblebee-movie-brawn-in-hand-images-445994).

Tak Tom Mall has listed 4 of them on there site for preorder

https://takaratomymall.jp/shop/c/cTFss/

As well as on their promotional website

https://tf.takaratomy.co.jp/products/tf_ss

Just as an aside, I find the side column on the promotional page, the icons for each series seem so random.
The war for cybertron ones are way too similar
All the rest are their completely own thing.

I really think that Japanese marketing agents have no idea about... stuff.

Hasbro Australia might have the new Studio Series toys in the country, as Shockwave is now listed on Amazon Australia for February (https://www.amazon.com.au/TRA-GEN-Studio-CORE-Shockwave/dp/B09H1RG668/) (the global release date), so we must be expecting them to be released here at the same time as well... which would mean the stock would have to be here by now.
