Initial thoughts:
Motormaster is great looking in both modes. The trailer forming a skeleton to bolt the other Stunticons on will be controversial I suspect, but I like it. I never liked the Combiner Wars cars being on the shins (tops forward) as opposed to the calves (tops backward). So this Menasor will be for me. Unfortunately he will not scale against CW Devastator and will be about Siege Jetfire height.
Blitzwing's plane mode is ugly with that junk underneath it.
I like Elita-1 - nice G1 cartoon version.
And now I'm for certain not to get any of the Prime figures - just not Transformers Prime enough.

I prefer the limbs on CW Menasor. Honestly, if not for the fact that CW Motormaster is a bad toy and that LY Motormaster appears incompatible with the CW limbs, I wouldn't bother collecting all the LY Stunticons.
But I understand why LY Menasor looks the way he does. I don't see the need for any controversy... this just means that we collectors have a choice now.

Siege Jetfire is 27cm and off memory CW Menasor is approx. 29cm. So if LY Menasor is the same size as Siege Jetfire, then he'd be close to the size of CW Menasor (give or take a few centimetres). Unless you wanted a Titan Class sized Menasor like CW Devvy or Predaking, but yeah... those are uncommon.

He actually is compatible with cw limbs at least at the knee from what we can see
The trailer ‘skeleton’ uses cw ports to attach to the thighs and I’m assuming torso

The only one of these I'm not going to get is Knockout, and that's purely because I don't collect Prime. Everything else is a must-have.

The push for G1 cartoon accuracy has seen me taking a hiatus from collecting over the last little while. With reference specifically to Motormaster and Blitzwing, fake parts on a mainline, retail figure is a dealbreaker to me.
The Delta Magnus figure looks great, on the other hand. I never bought the ER Magnus mold and I think it looks much better in these colours than in the Ultra Magnus colours.

I Like quite a bit of what has been presented. Definitely want that MotorMaster. I think the trailer being used like that is quite acceptable. If you check out his base mode, you can see the skeleton's knees use a joint that looks suspiciously like the CW connection joint.
I thought CW Motormaster was a good toy. It Just made a horrible torso for Menasor. Why they designed the hips that way I don't understand.
Ultra Magnus there is a very nice take. The shattered glass and Diaclone options is a great idea. I approve highly! Not that I've seen a Shattered Glass toy available through official channels in Japan, so I'd be surprised if this one made it...
Wildrider has a VERY nice vehicle mode, I just hope the bonnet kibble on his back can compact down a bit more.
Jhiaxus looks very interesting. He seems remarkably lacking in plane parts, so I am very curious to see his vehicle mode.
Elita one, cut vehicle mode, but not for me.
Man, the Prime toys takes just aren't hitting the mark at all. I liked that Knockout was a bit of a slim pretty-boy. But this one is just another chunky car bot. Which is normally fine, but not for Knockout. Its just another car bot with a Knockout head.
Tarantulas, well, I'm sure some people will be happy, but not being Transmetal makes me sad. Why does the Transmetal side of Beastwars get shoved aside?
blitzwing... Nah.
Soundwave, oh man, the Siege version? Ha ha ha ha ha. Wow.
Oh, just found Jhiaxus' page on Amazon... Now I see why there is very little jet on that robot mode, PASS.
Stunticons will be mine!

I’m very impressed with these reveals. They definitely look a lot more like adult collectible kind of figures than the more toy-ish style we saw in Prime Wars or even WFC, which I think looks very professional.
Jhiaxus and Motormaster in particular look like well-designed figures. Elita is nice but we just received one in the Netflix line, so I’m not sure if I’ll end up grabbing one. Knockout looks fantastic, as does Wildrider from the front. Wildrider has a strange amount of kibble, but if it’s to ensure the fit in combiner mode then I am not as fussed. Dare I say they could go a little more stylistic on the Prime figures, some of the angles are a big part of their silhouette and are brought way down for these G1-ish figures, maybe too much for someone like Knockout.
Could end up being another golden age with Legacy given these first couple waves’ offerings, but we’ll see I guess. It seems like the trend for the CHUG lines for a few years now has been pushing the bar higher and higher. Maybe it’s my grumpy adult fan hat on here but I don’t know why we need to have the big translucent red/blue pieces on everything. It seems they otherwise got the picture that most fans just want nice figures with budget going towards the best paint and plastic quality, but still the line-wide gimmicks show up every time. If anything, I’d much rather they ditch that in favour of something like Marvel Legends’ build-a-figure pieces, with less of a chance of being chucked in every collector’s random miscellaneous crap drawer.

LY Motormaster
LY Stunticons.
LY Menasor
LY Menasor
...Not sure I approve of Legacy being abbreviated to LY.... :P
Motormaster isn't perfect but I really like him. For some reason that shot of him standing next to Prime is just aces! While I have no need for the battle station, if we're talking playability, this has plenty. I'm loving how Menasor is appearing and cant wait to see my favourite, Dead End. He might have less back kibble since he'll be an arm? Fingers are crossed these sell well and they do other combiners. Even if it's likely they'd only do the Aerialbots and Constructicons.
That Jhiaxus though, talk about left field and making me want something I never realised I needed. Apart from some colouring he's pretty darn faithful.
Blitz well, Blitz is alright. I know most people are dissing the jet mode, however one mode always suffers with a Triple-Changer. I like it, I think it's the best Blitz in a long long time.
Elita isn't bad, good looking robot. I just keep looking at that alt mode. I know there's a lot of talk about Minerva there but I just don't see it.
It's a pass on the Prime and Beast figs for me. Not a dig at their quality, just gotta draw the line somewhere.

Elita-1's car mode looks really bad to me... but as for the Minerva version - there's already digibashes (https://twitter.com/SStellary/status/1513927632081113097) and it seems this toy was used for the current Wreckers comic version of that character.
SG Ultra Magnus surprised me - I thought they would have done the LG Laser Optimus Prime mould - since the last SG Magnus was a recolour of a different Laser Optimus Prime toy. But they had to do those colours on that toy as some stage, just assumed it would be a Gen Selects Delta Magnus.

Well, that's mostly rather interesting for a change (because so much has been leaked in advance over the past couple of years).
I was never not going to get the Stunticons, but seeing Motormaster and the Menasor frame is nice. Still don't like Wild Rider's backpack (but I'm buying it), think Motormaster is a bit... well, bitty, with odd bits that don't seem entirely solid, but they're going on my shelves nevertheless. Interesting to see how Hasbro is using the now well-established armature in the trailer technique, but still doing a few things differently.
Elita-1 is an incremental improvement over the 2021 toy, and isn't it nice to see a female transformer that isn't shaped like a sexbot for a change... Good to know what Minerva will look like, too :)
Jhiaxus does look very nicely comic-y, but geez, can they at least try to get away from the jet with underslung brick look?
An almost-but-not-quite Delta Magnus? Hmmm...
Knock Out looks, well, okay. That's the SS86 Jazz design being re-used, right?

That Tarantulas looks really good.
The rest kind of don't really do it for me, lots of cool concepts but the execution just seems a bit...too chunky and blocky? I'm kind of not feeling the aesthetic for the line.

I have added the official images to the new Legacy and Shattered Glass toys into the first post.
Seriously translucent guns, why???
Yeah, the painted weapons that have translucent plastic seem like a waste (maybe lighting will make it look good like the eyes done with light-piping?), and could risk breaking the gun handles in the fists as the translucent plastic is more fragile.
...Not sure I approve of Legacy being abbreviated to LY.... :P
LY seems a little weird... and after a while we will eventually have to double up on abbreviations. Unfortunately, LEG and LG have been used recently, so maybe we can use TakaraTomy's official abbreviation for Legacy - TL (https://takaratomymall.jp/shop/c/cTFlegacy/) (which I'm guessing stands for Transformers Legacy). I started using LG on the price comparison listing, because it is for Hasbro's toys, but some people who collected TakaraTomy toys will think it is too soon after the Legends toyline, which officially had the abbreviation of LG.
I could use the Japanese TL, but the predominantly Hasbro audience here, it won't seem applicable. I'll see what other fansites start doing.
Me not being a fan of Shattered Glass, I too would have preferred the Gen1 UM truck in blue/black/red be Delta Magnus to go with the pre-transformers toys that Hasbro has been doing recently... and use the Laser Optimus cab for SG Ultra Magnus like the original BotCon toy.

I sincerely hope you're right. :)
The push for G1 cartoon accuracy has seen me taking a hiatus from collecting over the last little while. With reference specifically to Motormaster and Blitzwing, fake parts on a mainline, retail figure is a dealbreaker to me.
We did really need a gooder CHUG Motormaster though. CW Motormaster really suffered as a result of being pre-tooled as Optimus Prime. :(
I'm gonna skip LY Blitzwing and just stick with my TR figure (which I nabbed for $15 on sale at Big W ;)). I don't intend to take a break from collecting, but as usual I'll just cherry pick which figures I want. When it comes to figures that are repeats of characters already previously done as CHUGs, it's easier for me to be picky. Getting repeat characters often means that I'm stuck with having to sell off the previous toy; typically at a loss since my toys are loose, and even cheaper if I've made any cosmetic touch ups (as the toy is technically defaced).
Jhiaxus is a toy that I'll definitely be nabbing, and yeah, I'll have to try to shift off my T30 Jhiaxus for supercheap. But if I'm happy enough with the existing CHUG figures, then I can just skip the later CHUG versions (which is what I usually do). :)
The Delta Magnus figure looks great, on the other hand. I never bought the ER Magnus mold and I think it looks much better in these colours than in the Ultra Magnus colours.
Yeah, Kingdom Ultra Magnus is gonna be another figure that I'll be selling for cheap after getting SG Magnus (which I'm totally going to repurpose as Delta Magnus ;)). I've touched up my KD UM so... yeah, gonna be stacking those discounts (which means more of a loss for me).
RE: Legacy Prime figures
I do agree that they cosmetically look odd, having a hybrid G1/Prime aesthetic. Not sure who that's trying to appeal to. Design-wise I would expect them to be better than the original TFP figures though, as I found most of those toys to be mediocre at best (the problem of toys being designed as cartoon characters first). :/ Still... I have zero desire to purchase any of the LY Prime figures.

I don't get Elita-1's alt-mode. It just seems that Legacy is a bit hit and miss when it comes to accurate homages.
Jhiaxus is one that really nailed the robot mode, but unfortunately the jet mode suffered (it was a comic character that wasn't based on a toy, so the artists probably didn't think they needed to worry too much about IF it could transform).
Tarantulas looks nice, and I'm really looking forward to completing the original BW cartoon cast... and hope we are getting Inferno to complete the first year cast.
And for some reason I'm just not feeling Knock Out... there's something about the car mode that doesn't feel right to me.

Given how Elita-1 has been treated in the past by Hasbro I'm assuming she is a premould or shared engineering for another toy down the line.

I horrendously overpaid for a t30 one at a convention only for it to be missing something or damaged and i never managed to get a replacement
So despite preordering the new one i still wouldn't mind the old one if its not an insane price

I had a look through all the various pics available, and it doesn't seem like the arms attach via the old combiner pegs. In fact, it looks (https://news.tfw2005.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/10/2022/04/Transformers-Legacy-FFT-412222-203.jpg) very much like the arm has a socket that clips onto some sort of peg (https://news.tfw2005.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/10/2022/04/Transformers-Legacy-FFT-412222-207.jpg) extending out from the torso, which is the inverse of the CW method.

Finally Tarantulas, now we just need Inferno. I have mixed feelings about the new BW toys, but I really want that complete set of season 1 Predacons. The Jihaxus looks ok, but is still easily the best version of the character. Hopefully it sells well enough that the character is tacked again sometime.
I'm sure the others are fine too, but they're not for me.

The promo video for the Robosen Trailer for Optimus...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwcNLzMSEhg
They say it is 3 feet long, which is almost a metre... that's huge, and doesn't sound right. Most of the GEN Titans are just a little over 2 feet tall.
I didn't think that the Optimus figure was that big to result in a trailer that ends up being a metre long to be in scale.
The listing on Hasbro Pulse has it for us$750 (https://hasbropulse.com/products/transformers-optimus-prime-auto-converting-trailer-with-roller-collector-s-edition) (for release in December), which is $50 more than the original price of Optimus... so it makes it a very expensive truck and trailer.
Optimus is coming here in a couple months time, so I'd be surprised if the trailer would come here too.

Oh yeah. She doesn't resemble a Porsche 959 in Alt-mode. But basically, everything else is there to say this is Minerva.
Yeah after seeing the comparison of Elita-1 next to a comic image of Minerva I'm convinced they're going that route. They did pretty well retooling SS86 Jazz away from being a Porsche into Knockout, so hopefully they can retool Elita-1 into one.
https://i.ibb.co/P40hZvM/received-484939576662497.webp (https://ibb.co/RPd0pkN)
I had a look through all the various pics available, and it doesn't seem like the arms attach via the old combiner pegs. In fact, it looks (https://news.tfw2005.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/10/2022/04/Transformers-Legacy-FFT-412222-203.jpg) very much like the arm has a socket that clips onto some sort of peg (https://news.tfw2005.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/10/2022/04/Transformers-Legacy-FFT-412222-207.jpg) extending out from the torso, which is the inverse of the CW method.
Yeah, I noticed the same. I do strongly agree with Jaxius that those knees look CW compatible though. It could just be a case of Legends Godbomber all over again.

Pre-orders are now up on Amazon Australia, as Australian stock.
The dates are a bit weird though, as the dates on the product page appear to be different to the arrival dates on the checkout page (like the Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus says that it will be released September 15th, but will arrive at your address between August 4th to 8th... which means time travel if true).
Considering how late the dates are on Amazon America compared to their official release dates from Hasbro, maybe see the dates as the latest they will be released by, and that they are most likely released a month or two before that.

The Amazon link for Jhiaxus has it called Straxxus (the dark blue Decepticon from the Marvel Gen1 comic).
The Hasbro Pulse listing for Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus says that it will come with the first issue of a 5 issue comic... but I wonder if it is just the same 5 issue comic series that came out with the first set of five toys.
Includes: Ultra Magnus figure, alt head, armor, blaster, axe, and sword accessories, and instructions.
Part of the Shattered Glass Collection
Leader Class figure
Figure depicts the powerful Autobot general, Ultra Magnus, with deco and details inspired by the Shattered Glass universe
Converts from robot to truck mode in 12 steps, then to armored truck mode in 16 steps
Features purple Autobot logo and comes with blaster, axe, and sword accessories
Includes an alt head and armor accessories that attach to the figure
Comes with the first of a 5-issue IDW Shattered Glass miniseries with a Hasbro Pulse exclusive variant cover you can only get with the figure, featuring spot UV

I thought CW Motormaster was a good toy. It Just made a horrible torso for Menasor. Why they designed the hips that way I don't understand.
Yeah, that's fair. Although forming the torso of Menasor is also a significant part of that toy's purpose. And IMO it's more important for a gestalt to have a good torso over good limbs.
e.g. CW Blast-Off (ver 1.0) is just a repaint of Slingshot and just doesn't look like Blast-Off; but I don't think it effects the functionality or look or CW Bruticus. He just ends up with a brown jet for an arm instead of a space shuttle. I think CW Menasor suffers more from having a weak torso as it effects the whole robot. Also harder/dearer to fix; Hasbro never released a version 2.0 CW Motormaster, whereas we did get a version 2.0 Blast-Off (repaint of UW Breast Off).
I've also owned both CW Computron and UW Computicon at one stage (sold the former); and I personally find that neither is inherently better or worse than the other; it depends on your tastes. Structurally and functionally both Computron and Computicon are fine because both Scattershots are the same core mould (just some aesthetic differences like the gestalt head, chest and vehicle tooling). I find that the torso robot can make or break a gestalt.
Heck, CW Liokaiser would be so much gooder if the torso were Leozack and Jallguar, instead of Deathsaurus (repaint of Sky Lynx). The limb robots are all fine IMO; it's the torso component that lets it down.
Man, the Prime toys takes just aren't hitting the mark at all. I liked that Knockout was a bit of a slim pretty-boy. But this one is just another chunky car bot. Which is normally fine, but not for Knockout. Its just another car bot with a Knockout head.
These LY Prime bots are Rise of Skywalkering... trying to appeal to G1 and TFP fans at the same time, thus appealing to neither. :p
Tarantulas, well, I'm sure some people will be happy, but not being Transmetal makes me sad. Why does the Transmetal side of Beastwars get shoved aside?
Early toyline bias. It happens with G1 too. Look at the majority of CHUG and MP toys; very "front end" heavy with most characters being drawn from the first 3~4 years of G1 (1984-87). The Middle G1 Years (1988-90) not as much, and the Late G1 Years (1991-93)? Uh... well there's Rotorstorm... and umm... Overlord technically counts... Ironfist, Pyro and Clench have been done as BotCon/Club exclusives; do they count? :p See what I mean? G1 MP is almost all front heavy; the only Middle G1 MP I can think of is Star Sabre, and that was the result of a fan poll. I cannot think of a single Late G1 MP (they could've repainted T30 Metroplex as Metro Titan, but no).
Elita-1 is an incremental improvement over the 2021 toy, and isn't it nice to see a female transformer that isn't shaped like a sexbot for a change...
Excellent point. This has long been an issue of contention with female Transformers; they really shouldn't be looking so... "buxom". Just let robots look like robots. It's not as if the male Transformers all look like beefcakes. :p
Jhiaxus does look very nicely comic-y, but geez, can they at least try to get away from the jet with underslung brick look?
Maybe it can be retooled as CHUG Gunrunner. :p :D
Jets are always hard to do; even at an MP level (none of the MP jets can fully hide the robot kibble and are technically not perfectly aerodynamic). But this Jhiaxus is trying to be G2-accurate, and uh... the original G2 Jhiaxus is basically a coffin with bat wings. :p
An almost-but-not-quite Delta Magnus? Hmmm...
Slap a pair of red Autobot logos on the shoulders to cover the purple ones, only use the Diaclone-accurate super robot head and boom... it's practically a Delta Magnus. Okay, the red windows are a bit weird, but unlike Ultra Magnus, I can deal with that now.
Is there an inappropriate meaning of LY that I've missed? But yeah, as you've pointed out, "LEG" and "LG" have already been taken. TL works for me. :)
I don't get Elita-1's alt-mode. It just seems that Legacy is a bit hit and miss when it comes to accurate homages.
As others have pointed out, it does seem to be a pre-tool of Minerva. The alt mode does look much more G1-accurate than the Netflix figure though. To me it looks like what Elita-1 might transform into if she scanned an Earth mode. But still left the top of her head sticking out cos... I dunno, she's a fan of Energon Ironhide? :p
Jhiaxus is one that really nailed the robot mode, but unfortunately the jet mode suffered (it was a comic character that wasn't based on a toy, so the artists probably didn't think they needed to worry too much about IF it could transform).
Yup. This is precisely what happens when you go for source-accuracy with Transformers that were never meant to be toys. This is why Generations Straxus (Darkmount) transforms into a tank, not a ridiculous looking space cannon (https://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/2/20/Straxusaltmode.jpg).
I horrendously overpaid for a t30 one at a convention only for it to be missing something or damaged and i never managed to get a replacement
So despite preordering the new one i still wouldn't mind the old one if its not an insane price
I'll be selling mine for no more than $30 (ono).

The Jihaxus looks ok, but is still easily the best version of the character. Hopefully it sells well enough that the character is tacked again sometime.
I was under the opinion that Hasbro couldn't determine which individual characters sold well, just how well the wave sold in general?
Excellent point. This has long been an issue of contention with female Transformers; they really shouldn't be looking so... "buxom". Just let robots look like robots. It's not as if the male Transformers all look like beefcakes. :p
Difficult topic, however they should all really be gender neutral... However I get that they aren't and why they shouldn't.
For Elita and her Dunebuggy alt mode, I just hope that a) it can be tooled to look like her proper alt mode, or they don't try and ham-fist Nightbeat into that mould and b) this dunebuggy does not equal Sureshot, Joyride, Ruckus. and I seriously want those guys, but not repurposed from this.

Difficult topic, however they should all really be gender neutral... However I get that they aren't and why they shouldn't.
Transformers have genders to make them more relatable to the audience, and because languages like English lack gender-neutral third person pronouns. The first (and only?) tech specs bio in English to have no gendered pronouns was G2 Dreadwing/Smokescreen (https://www.seibertron.com/vsd/character/dreadwing/557/), making them the first gender-neutral Transformers... for a short while at least - until they appeared in the G2 comics and were referred to with male pronouns. :p And also because the voice actors/actresses are either men or women, and will have a man's or woman's voice.
I gotta admit that Machine Men handled robot genders better than Transformers. Lipstick aside (which TFs is equally guilty of), none of the female Machine Men had effeminate body proportions. Toys were just randomly assigned as male or female and just looked like their toys. And female Machine Men with faceplates just looked the same as the male robots... you couldn't tell if they were male or female until you heard their voices.
It might not be so bad if these characters have already been pre-purposed as other characters, like Nightbeat. I think that pre-tooling is a better option than retooling. e.g. Earthrise Cliffjumper was also pre-tooled as Bumblebee. It's obvious that from the outset, that mould was built to be both characters (then later retooled as Hubcap). As a result, all three figures are pretty solid. Kingdom Ultra Magnus on the other hand is clearly a retrospective retool of Siege Ultra Magnus, and does consequently suffer somewhat.

Even though we never get a good look at Elita-1 in the original cartoon, we saw the front part as a pointed vehicle a bit like Arcee, which is nothing like the square car in Legacy...
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/news/2022/041401.jpg
...but they did homage her head poking out the top though, so I guess that's one thing. I just don't know why they chose this vehicle mode, as if the previous toys with very odd alt-modes (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Elita_One_(G1)) (a boat for BotCon, a Jet for POTP, an Arcee redeco for Netflix toyline) made it okay to keep the tradition alive. :p
As for the claim that people are saying that Elita-1 is a "pre-tool of Minerva", I find it hard to believe because the car and robot mode of Elita-1 look nothing like the original Minerva toy or JP cartoon appearance (or any appearance that I could see on the tfwiki page for Gen1 Minerva (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Minerva) (referring to the non-human component) and Animated Minerva (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Minerva_(Animated))), which would need a major remould t
The original Minerva toy and cartoon appearance looked more like the Jazz car than Legacy Elita-1, but if the focus is on robot modes being accurate, a remoulded SS Jazz toy might look right in car mode, but not in robot mode with the car front on the chest.

The prices are significantly higher, but a lot earlier than Amazon dates... which I think are unreliable at this stage anyway. But was also know that EBGames dates are pretty unreliable too, so... maybe pick a date between the two and that's when they will be out.
(July seems a little too early anyway, because wave 1 was originally going to be released in June-July, so we wouldn't be getting wave 2 that soon after wave 1)
Going back over the wave 1 pre-orders on EBGames, it had Leader Gen2 Laser Optimus for release June 1st... but word from Hasbro Australia is that the Leader class won't be released until July, so either it is being held back for some reason, or EBGames have the wrong release date (copying the date of the rest of wave 1).

I always thought Starscream was the first gender neutral, or at least gender non-binary, Transformer.
The voice was always ambiguous and sounded very feminine, and at best Starscream?s personality was androgynous with elements of masculine and feminine. Even through the eyes of a child at the time, Starscream seemed?.. both boy/girl combined.

General notice – Asia leads the Masterpiece reveals, MPM Blackout will be offered in the US soon.
TFormers – Will the non-G1 universes be considered sub-lines within Generations/Legacy going forward? Legacy is it’s own line, won’t be sub-lines within it for each universe. Buzzworthy and Selects are separate, and will have cross branding with when it fits.
Awesome Toy Blog – Concern with limbs being split across waves, hard to find first ones for someone coming in late. Box sets like what was done with Devastator not off table.
Transmissions – Yellowing on recent figures – Aware, researching issue. Has been seen by Mark and team, forwarded to engineering for research. Feedback, specifics always welcome, helps narrow down the problem. Pandemic restricted traveling to Asia for quality checks.
Allspark – Legacy Blitzwing – turret – can it turn all the way around. Yes. Got a sample and did so on camera (though choppy connection).
Anthony Karcz – How do you pick out which characters to do? Delicate balance. What’s on shelf all together, cars, planes, beasts, colors. What’s been done before. Budget. Takara’s input, marketing wanting tier 1 characters. Lots of angles.
TFW2005 – Cybertron Metroplex – what was the thought process behind choosing a non-G1 character for such a large expensive figure? Story at first. He mines Energon, play pattern across Legacy involves Energon. So initial trigger for including this Metroplex was story. In addition, toys are still designed with kids in mind so the play pattern and overall coolness of a big construction vehicle was factored into the decision.
??? (sorry) – How is Legacy doing sales wise, non-G1 characters etc. – PO numbers are doing well, crushing War for Cybertron. The non-G1 characters are also doing better than some G1 characters, which shows demand is there.
BWTF – Pricing. 12-18% increase across line. Will this continue? Can’t say there won’t be more. Reacting to world events. Deluxe will be 24.99 going forward for now.
Matt Thomas – Soundwave – Siege vs Netflix – why? Walmart exclusive originally. When exclusives are done, they have it for a certain time, so couldn’t be done now. Walmart does have right to do another run right now. (No clarification or confirmation that it would be done after the exclusive time frame ends.)
Rodimus Primal – Open box – issues with heads removed, crushed boxes from shipping. – Most likely not going back to plastic. Closed box an option. Balance out seeing figure and how important. Kids testing likes the open box.
West Lee Dixon – Menasor – compatible with Combiner Wars? – legs, yes, but not 100% sturdy. Arms – no. Goal is to make Menasor proper best he could be, not be scramble city functional.
Siebertron – Weapon packs? – anything possible, on radar, looking at things like this. Try to get missed weapons into new molds if tool and budget allows.
Anthony TFU – Legacy and ports/connections from past lines present – Metroplex using them? – lots of 5 and 3 mm ports, connectors for city /road connections. Drill Bit – costed out. Core offering in future – possible.
Kevin Unicron – ROTB delay affecting product on shelf this year? Didn’t affect Legacy / fan side. And for Studio Series – that’s when SS ROTB stuff was intended to come out anyway. RE: live events – looking at the options now at corporate level.
TFwiki – Legacy core not mentioning Weaponizers gimmick – not called Weaponizers but there are “gimmicks” for collecting more than one to build things out. Kids focused angle. Not making it a primary focus, just there to let fans/kids create their own things from all the pieces.
Jeremy – Shattered Glass comic with Magnus? – New 5 part mini series, Magnus issue, continuing story.
Matt Thomas – Can Galaxy Upgrade Prime hold Cybertron Metroplex weapon? Not sure, didn’t have one handy to check. Wheel doesn’t open.

Seibertron have also posted up some details from the invite-only roundtable (https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/hasbro-says-why-they-are-not-rereleasing-netflix-soundwave-and-if-menasor-is-cw-compatible/46848/), which includes some extra details...
(I was not aware that SS Ravage has an accessory specifically for Soundwave... due to Soundwave going over its budget if it had it)
Seibertron was part of a round table discussion with Hasbro a few days ago. Nothing new was revealed, it was just a question and answer period. Our question was to know if there would be more weapon multipacks but we got the same non answer though Hasbro did clarify that sometimes weapons that are not included with a particular character could be released down the line with another if there is room in the budget and tooling for it. For instance, we saw that with Core Class SS Ravage who had an accessory specifically for SS BB Soundwave.
One of the biggest points of discussion was the whole deal with Hasbro releasing Siege Soundwave, which was plentiful, rather than the Netflix Soundwave which both had the G1 alt mode many fans wanted AND was only released as a Walmart exclusive at a higher price due to coming in a multipack. Well, Hasbro was very blunt and honest regarding this, it is due to the exclusive status of the molding. If new molding is released exclusively through a retailer, then that retailer has the rights to the selling of that toy and the tooling for a certain amount of time. Not all contracts are the same. For instance, Amazon had exclusive rights to the Kingdom Terrorsaur release/tooling but the time of that exclusivity was short enough that now Target owns the rights to selling that tooling since they will do that with the redeco coming soon.
But the time for Walmart's exclusivity on Netflix Soundwave has not expired yet and we don't know when it will expire or if Hasbro intends on rereleasing it when it does. But at least now we know why Hasbro is rereleasing Siege Soundwave instead of the other Soundwave. We have images of the packaging below.
Speaking of the packaging, questions came up regarding the open box nature of the legacy line. This is where Hasbro clearly stated that the legacy line is still designed with kids in mind and they product tested this line with kids. It turns out kids prefer the open box design over closed box. Also, Cybertron Metroplex was picked over other titan options for its appeal to kids. They said kids liked the idea of a big construction-type vehicle, it added to the coolness factor of the giant robot.
There was also acknowledgement of price hikes that are not confirmed to end, and of yellowing on toys, they are looking into that.
Finally, the question of Menasor's Combiner Wars ports came up. Yes, they did use the same port system used in the Combiner Wars line, but it was done simply because it's a good system for partsforming and not for backwards compatibility. It is only used in the leg segments and while people could attach legs from the combiner wars era, it will not be 100% sturdy.

play pattern across Legacy involves Energon.
this "play pattern" they refer to, is that the building of weapons?
Having not seen the toys yet, and not sure about the box blurb, but also remembering that they don't want to translate too much, how do they get across that the story and "play point" is energon related?

I think so, as the three Core class toys in wave one had their accessories combine in some way... and a lot of the accessories appear to be from translucent plastic. Perhaps there is some big plan for them over the entire toyline, as those blocky accessories with Blitzwing look like hands to me.

I really don't know why, but SG Magnus really tickled me, so I've preordered him.
I dont get many toys very often these days, and those that I do go for have a tendency to have multiple layers to them. A multi-homage character definitely ticks all the boxes, and the colour scheme definitely got me over the line.
EDIT: Okay in hindsight i DO know why he tickled me :p

Hasbro seems to ignore the Core class in their reveals, and the leaks have suggested (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php/28943-2022-Transformers-Toy-Checklist-for-Australia?p=651633#post651633) that wave 2 will have a Shockwave, Gen2 Megatron (green Kingdom tank), and Kingdom Optimus re-release.
It looks like Shockwave has made it to an Asian retailers (because there is the Hasbro Asia sticker on the back), and the back of the packaging has been posted somewhere online (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/05/28/rumor-possible-first-look-at-legacy-core-shockwave-457419), giving us a look at both modes.
The alt-mode is clearly resembling the Siege Shockwave toy, and looks to have some similar engineering with the Combiner Wars Legion Shockwave toy (at least with the legs).

And images of Motormaster in-hand (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/06/01/transformers-legacy-commander-class-motormaster-out-in-australia-new-in-hand-images-457637), from one of the few Australians who managed to get their hands on one from a BigW store that didn't keep the toys hidden out the back.

One of the Hasbro designers has posted up on instagram images and info (https://www.instagram.com/p/CfEo07gO0H7/) on the various weapons from the first two waves of Legacy.
It looks like there are some recommended combinations, but there doesn't appear to be any set combinations, or a "one big weapon" from all of the parts.
(images here (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/06/21/transformers-legacy-energon-weapons-combinations-concept-art-images-458862) if you have trouble with instagram)
Energon consumption time!!! I really hope everyone is enjoying the portal ride of our Legacy toyline. Here is a lil insight on how some of these energon weapons came to be.
First image is just a showcase of the first 2 waves of Legacy weaponry you’ll collect if you grab core class, deluxe class, voyager class, and even leader class!
Then you will actually see the concept art Emiliano Santalucia drew up even before we had the rollout of characters planned for the year. I think this will provide great insight for all yall as alot of the planning for weapon combinations was to obviously utilize our 5mm peg across all scales but this was all sold in before character selects were figured out.
As I worked with Takara on some of the characters I ended up redesigning alot of the weapons in order to maintain their design aesthetic of their own iconic weaponry. I wanted to concentrate heavily on the character and let that guidance provide an opportunity for the style and color of the energon weaponry
