The first of five Legacy Wreck N Rule packs (exclusive to Amazon) has been revealed, containing 2 Deluxe toys.

A US Amazon listing (https://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Generations-Collection-Universe-Exclusive/dp/B00H1M5NHU/) is up for the first (deep breath) Transformers Legacy Wreck N Rule Collection. A recolour of Impactor with what looks like a slightly different head from the previous two releases, and a more significantly remolded Paleotrex named Spindle. Not sure I'm sold on the colour scheme for these two.

WRECK ‘N RULE COLLECTION: If a mission is a lost cause, the Autobots call in their toughest task force: the Wreckers. This elite strike team is prepared to rush in blasters-blazing and get the job done
THE LEADER AND THE NEW RECRUIT: Impactor is legendary for his unyielding strength and bravery in leading the Wreckers. Spindle, a new recruit, fiercely charges into battle by his side
CLASSIC CONVERSION & ACCESSORIES: Comic Universe Impactor figure converts to tank mode in 19 steps. Spindle figure converts to Spinosaurus mode in 28 steps. Includes 2 blaster accessories
ASSEMBLE THE HAMMER: Each Wreck ‘N Rule Collection pack includes with a piece of the Wreckers hammer. Collect all 5 packs to assemble and display the hammer (each sold separately, subject to availability)
EXCLUSIVE PACKAGING ART: Packaging features a piece of exclusive artwork. Collect all 5 Wreck ‘N Rule Collection packs to piece together the full scene (each sold separately, subject to availability)

Release - November 1st - us$45.

Is there any lore behind this release of Impactor?

Looking at that picture on the Amazon page, that's Impactor as he was originally envisioned during Target: 2006.

Damn it. Want... But don't want another piece of junk alongside the toy I actually have some interest in. Again.

Depends on the universe. Leadfoot, Topspin and Twin Twist are rumoured to appear in the line.

I'm kind of tempted to get Impactor, as this is the Impactor I first met in 1986, but it's a two pack and I've not interest in Spindle (so unless someone wants her and wants to split the pack...).

Impactor seems to have some remolding around the chest? And Spindle has new pieces.

JJJ

So there are five packs! How many wreckers are there?

The standard Wreckers, as invented by Furman in 1986, were:

Impactor (didn't last...)
Topspin
Twin Twist
Rack'n'Ruin
Springer
Sandstorm
Broadside
Whirl
Roadbuster
Ultra Magnus (but couldn't make his appointment)

Some variation on these characters, plus a scattering of new ones depending on the author, is the usual formula (such as Ironfist, Rotorstorm, Guzzle, and Pyro in Last Stand Of The Wreckers). Although the recent Tread and Circuits used none of these at all...

Interesting question, though, because it suggests we might be getting a new Whirl and Roadbuster (their last toys were from T30, almost a decade ago now), and I've not seen even a glimpse of their names on the leak lists. Also makes me wonder if there are new triple changers on the way, if there'll be re-issues (TR Broadside seems conceivable but remote, T30 Sandstorm seems out of the question), or if they'll just be skipped :)

From the leaks we have these potential Wreckers toys...

Legacy Wreckers deluxe Impactor
Legacy Wreckers deluxe Twintwist (saltman)
Legacy Wreckers deluxe Topspin (saltman)
Legacy Wreckers deluxe Leadfoot
Legacy Wreckers voyager Springer
Legacy wreckers voyager Bulkhead redeco

I would expect Topspin and Twintwist to be together in a 2-pack, which would leave the others to make up the five packs (with Impactor and Leadfoot having some other random unknown added to the pack).

I really don't see the point or need for adding a new unknown character to the iconic concept of the Wreckers, as if they couldn't think of releasing any other Deluxe redeco with Impactor that had some existing relationship to the classic Wreckers team. I guess if Hasbro wanted the Deluxe toys to be 2-packs to maintain the same price-point between them, they didn't really have any other classic Wreckers characters in Deluxe size. The Triplechangers, Roadbuster and Whirl were all Voyager sized toys in Generations... but I guess if they have Leadfoot and Bulkhead included, they could have grabbed Wreckers from any generation, and there have been LOTS of them over the years (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Wreckers).

I guess Amazon likes having these themed sets, as we had the Golden Disk set and the Galactic Odyssey set... and each time the release was not handled very smoothly - either some didn't get released outside of America, or they had a sporadic global release making them scalper bait.

griffin
10th May 2022, 11:55 PM
The CG official images make the toys look gold and purple, but the actual toys are yellow and purple, so I wonder if they were originally planned to be more golden colour.

I am still trying to work out what the toys are standing on... the colour makes me think of ER Scorponok, but the shapes make me think of TR Trypticon (I haven't had a chance to dig them out yet to look for those specific panels).
Never mind... apparently it is ER Scorponok's tail.

Personally, I'm loving the new Fossilizers. I know they aren't part of the Wreckers and could have used other figures, but I really had hoped they wouldn't abandoned them. Both look pretty solid!

Hopefully Wreckers Bulkhead gets shown off before I get the call that the Legacy version came in so I can make the choice on what's the best option.

Leadfoot looks great, and looks like the G2 version. But I can't help but feel he looks like he's wearing a soccer team uniform because of the colours. The big number printed on his torso also helps :)
I'm tempted to get him.

I wonder if the Bulkhead mould will end up being Pyro (new head and/or parts). Someone also speculated Thunderclash. I wouldn't be surprised if they even use the mould as Roadbuster (Although not a good fit - it's not impossible...)

Is that fossiliser a new mold or did I let a Mastodon sneak by me again?

Noting that it is the design most closely associated with the modern Wreckers, I could almost certainly be talked into buying another version of the T30 Springer mold. I'm not going to go out of my way to find the War for Cybertron one though.

I wonder if the Bulkhead mould will end up being Pyro (new head and/or parts). Someone also speculated Thunderclash. I wouldn't be surprised if they even use the mould as Roadbuster (Although not a good fit - it's not impossible...)

My first instinct when Bulkhead was initially revealed was that we'd got a Pyro from him at some point.

Could be Pyro? That thought just occurred.

Actually that really suits. Wheels on the outside of the legs, cape kibble, general vehicle mode shape.

I mean, the standard pricing for run-of-the-mill deluxes is $36 at the moment; the Gens Selects are $45. So while $85 is a fair bit of money, it's not unreasonable for what the set contains.

It's a bit of a kick in the hexagonal nuts if you only want one toy (me? I want "Marvel" Impactor and Spindle, so I'm happy).

? Today we have G2 Leadfoot, which is a slight retool of Kingdom Mirage, and Masterdominus, which is a retool of Kingdom Ractonite. While the initial leaks mentioned a Mammoth fosiliser, Hasbro's chosen name for the character makes the alt mode a Mastodon, which is key company brand synergy when you see what its colours are homaging.?

It must be really obscure, but does anybody know what key company brand synergy when you see what its colours are homaging references? I got nothing.

Yeah, the colouring could be a little suspicious, considering the first Wrecker pack had Spindle in the same colours as Impactor, so a partnering in the 2-packs should have seen a similar or related colour scheme between Leadfoot and Masterdominus.

I was hoping for a set of the original comic Wreckers (part, if not all). Instead, Hasbro is giving us one character each from 5 different universes because of the Legacy theme.

Impactor = comic
Leadfoot = G2
Springer = G1
Bulkhead = Prime
Twintwist = Diaclone?

I can fully understand why they decided to do this and do think it's a pretty cool idea. The boxarts combined, look beautiful too (a lot better than a giant golden disc). However, this is not the Wrecker set that I'd hope for.

I feel that the Golden Disc Collection, and now this Wreck and Ruin collection, are kind of like new BotCon boxsets but without the convention.

As with Springer, a good price for a Voyager that comes with one more accessory than his Legacy release. Pretty sure I'll cancel my order for Legacy Bulkhead at this point as I prefer this less drab deco.
Still no pictures of the build-a-hammer that's spread over the boxes. Hopefully we'll see more about it with the final release tomorrow.

I find I prefer this new Bulkhead over the standard Legacy one (which I think I will now ignore should it appear at Kmart this weekend). The energon weapon ticked me off, all bright and clear blue. Now it's a dark smudge, and works much better for me. And the camouflage markings, whilst not done as well as might have been, do suit the vehicle nicely.

Although I would quite like to know which shade of brown is being used, because there are two different sets of official pictures (both sets can be seen on Amazon), and the shade of brown differs drastically between them (no doubt due to the lighting used)...

Well, the usual leaker already has the boxed Wreck 'n Rule Bulkhead. His gun is still plastic, although black, with black paint to replicate where the blue gun was painted grey. That additional plastic hammer included has been confirmed not to be part of the "build a hammer" from collecting all 5. The hammer is just an extra accessory for Bulk while the build a hammer is sadly a cardboard cutout, as some suspected.

Was hoping that wasn't the case.. definitely reconsidering Springer now (have Siege, don't mind the battle damage and I prefer the greens) and have to decide which Bulk I get, if only one. Really wanted a bit more from this series as it started off so strong.

On seibertron, probably from instagram...

- Hasbro designer Mark Maher has confirmed that Bulkhead is in AOE Hound colours
- The hammer accessory that comes with Bulkhead is indeed Breakdown's and Bulkhead keeps it as a trophy of his victory in a fight against him.
- He has more figures planned in the Wreck N Rule line but we'll see how well these do before more get made
- Combining the jaw of the mastodon and the chest of the spinosaurus, you can make a new combiner head for a fossilizer,.
- The colour scheme used for Masterdominus is meant to work well with the Springer toy deco.

It’s been a week of #Wreckers reveals. Here is the packaging artwork clean without the characters (scroll to see them on there). The entire packaging concept was @markclonus idea. Coming out of how we executed the #GoldenDisk collection we wanted to see if we could tell a story with the packaging. Mark said we needed to pay homage to Emirate Xaaron and this was what we got back.

After this came together we knew we had to include some type of shelf piece for Wreckers fans too. The hammer, while cardboard, came out really nice (3rd image). @aj.piejkobrown really gave us a unique piece here. It will look great on your shelf with the figures posed out.

Can someone explain the pricing of these packs, please?
1x Voyager = $42
1x Deluxe = $34
2x Deluxe = $89 (or $44.50ea! Approx same price as a Voyager).

What am I missing here...? Fancy paint? "New" fossilizer molds?

The $42 Springer is potentially an error in our favour, the other voyager Bulkhead is $58 - more in line with the new RRP for voyagers.

As for the deluxes the Twin Twist also seems to be a good deal, below the new RRP for a deluxe, while the two packs are more expensive than two regular deluxes but similar to prices for the assorted Kingdom exclusive 2 packs last year

Without any warning or announcement, three of the Wreckers packs have been released in America, a lot earlier than the scheduled release of November.
The odd thing is that it is the three packs that were revealed last to be released early - Springer (https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09TTM3GSV/), Twintwist (https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09QXLZP7P/), Bulkhead (https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09QXLXTDK/).

Ours are still listed for September, but I guess if you were really desperate, all three can be imported from Amazon America... but a lot more than what they were listed for on Amazon Australia.

Jeez! Amazon have now delayed Springer until the end of March 23! That will be 11 months after I ordered it.
At $42 its probably the cheapest I'll ever get that mold, but I'm really on the fence about cancelling it.

That means they are really struggling to find stock... from anywhere in the world that isn't America.
If it is still available from Amazon America and people don't want to miss out, it is probably safest to pay a little more to secure it.

It might suck for those who have the pre-order guarantee of forty-something dollars for the Australian listing, but at the moment the American stock is just $4 more than the current Australian price of $53... which is pretty good considering the extra distance it has to ship.

American stock $57 - still available now:

Australian stock $53 - could be out in March... or never:
