I love it that we have a *new* first season/year Masterpiece toy, getting us veeeery slowly towards completing the set (not counting the Minibots).

It is expensive, but we have had to get used to that with the Masterpiece toyline now.
(here's hoping that the Yen stays weak until the end of the year, as it has really helped with some Japanese purchases in recent months)

I expect that they have designed it in a way to make it fairly easy to do Hoist from the mould... which will also be happily welcomed into the collection, as MP Grapple has been a bit lonely without him.

This is the first MP I have considered buying since Megatron. At least the vehicle looks like a real vehicle rather than these toon accurate ones.

I'm surprised he doesn't come with a force-field effect. Cynic that I am I suspect they'll bundle it with the nigh-inevitable Diaclone repaint/remold.

JMO but seeing this after the Reboost/Skids/Crosscut mold had made me realise that I'm really not a fan of the cartoon-accurate look (and expensive over-engineering it takes to get it). I really like MP Spinout but the Hasui Prowl/Wheeljack toy-toon hybrid era designs just looked and felt better to me.

It feels to me that the anime grill is needed to better fit the robot mode. Like the car mode. Robot is a bit too cartoony for the asthetic

Yeah crazy postage prices have slowed down my importing of figures, but been waiting for Legacy figures to come out here. Will have to keep an eye on local options if I end up getting Trailbreaker

I preordered at Anime Export, they've been holding my skids/reboost since that came out as JPost won't send to Aus yet - I could do DHL I guess but this one coming out I'll bundle them all up in one postage. With conversion from Yen->AUD it came up to $165.62.

It is being released through Hasbro Pulse like other MP imports, so I'd be guessing that it will show up here at EBGames, other online stores and maybe Amazon Australia, eventually.

I don't really bother with Aussie retailers and MPs - too expensive. I look at Singapore, usually The Falcon's Hangar, because shipping is cheaper than Japan or Hong Kong, and Japan is surface mail only currently I believe (or seriously expensive DHL). The Falcon's Hangar, Robo Robo and OhMyPrimus have Trailbreaker for SGD$180. I estimate shipping from TFH will be SGD$16 assuming a 500g item weight (based on carbots I've bought before).

Other than EB/Zing, there's Popcultcha (https://www.popcultcha.com.au/catalogsearch/result/?q=transformers+masterpiece), which has Trailbreaker available for $339.99 and free shipping. They occasionally have 20% off sales, but TB would still be very costly (though MP-52+ Skywarp at $320 on sale is actually a good price).

There's also Inbox Toys (https://www.inboxtoys.com.au/?product_cat=0&s=transformers+masterpiece&post_type=product) and Mighty Ape (https://www.mightyape.com.au/series/transformers-masterpiece) but still expensive compared to overseas. Amazon AU also have MPs and I got my MP-52 Starscream from there at a middle-of-the-road price when it was on preorder discount. I was late to Starscream and should have bought from Singapore earlier as it was still cheaper.

Yes, you could import two of them from some Asian sources for the same price, and you'd have to wait longer too, as EBGames is listed for March, while the toy is being released in Japan and Asia around December-January.

Apparently while I don?t come to ozformers much I got attacked by a member in this forum telling me about how I promised not to buy mps whatsoever. < it was straight up disrespectful (feel free to dig me saying I promised not to buy anymore mps)

I stated I was going to quit and had mostly stayed true to it. I ordered this guy because I felt my badcube version doesn?t represent well.
And I wouldn?t mind replacing hoist for the matter.

The MPG line is not my cup, I do not see the relation for G1 representation or toon accuracy.

I pre ordered Trailbreaker, exciting to see something different, after so many cars. Looking forward to different character repaints, and Hoist. I felt keen when they released Ironhide and Ratchet, I have the same feeling with Trailbreaker.

A prototype of the MP Trailbreaker toy was on display at an event in Hong Kong last week (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/07/30/acghk-2022-transformers-masterpiece-mp-56-trailbreaker-prototype-images-462423), done in some strange colours (as pre-production tests often are).
The toy is still 7 months away from release, which still gives them a fair bit of time to make adjustments before it needs to go into production.

The bot mode front photo looks really bad, with the upper half of the body looking disproportionately large.
However, i think the photo taker just didn't pay attention to the angle, since the bot proportion looks ok in the official pics.

Some proper pictures are coming through and it looks like you are correct, Trailbreaker looks very good and in proportion.

Alt mode with the cartoon grille is perfection. I love it.

Lots of pics of this guy out now. He looks like a nice MP. The alt mode is especially good. However, I look at the pics and think he would look so much better in black, with the chrome. If they do bring out such an MP, I think I would have to pick him up.
