View Full Version : Pulse Con 2022 reveals

The first wave on Transformers Legacy Evolution has been revealed. We have Core Class Dinobots with both Slug and Sludge coming in Wave 1. It is confirmed there will be 6 Core Dinobots that will form Volcanius. Plus a very nice-looking Core Soundblaster is in Wave 1.
Deluxe Breakdown looks to be the last of the year one Legacy line coming out but will be in Evolution cases. Needlenose and his Target Masters have been confirmed after earlier rumours. Scraphook is a new character based on the Junkions. Apparently, he will come apart like weaponizer to combine with future Junkions. And for AEC fans, Armada Hotshot is getting a new figure.
There is a Voyager Leo Prime that I'm not a fan of because they tried to make it look "realistic".
And for original IDW fans, Voyager Tarn looks pretty good.

Armada Optimus Prime in the background, looks like they have found a line to put that prototype they showed back in 2019.
OK apparently a few other things I have noticed:
*The core dinobots will turn into a combiner, making it the next combiner in the Legacy toy series, and the first time ever we have gotten a core class combiner (Battletrap doesn't count).
*There will be 6 dinobots (Swoop, Grimlock, Snarl, and a 6th one, which the leaks say will be Skar)
*If the leaks are true, then the various Junkion figures we are getting will be gettting new Weaponizers in the form of the Junkions. Also apparently they can transform without partsforming
*Crosscut, more insecticons are coming as well (according to the poster)

Mmmmmm.
I like most of Needlenose (I mean, it looks like Needlenose!), but those targetmasters are just rubbish (and I'm not keen on the dangler...). They'll never see any other than gun mode for me. Also, I see some large similarities with the new Armada Starscream - is this a shared design with some heavy changes? It's the elbows that really gave it away for me.
Hot Shot looks like Hot Shot, so yay, but I really dislike the way they have made the legs unable to bend at the knee. Yes, it has perfectly working knees, but it also has huge kibble hanging off the back of the foot which entirely impedes the knee. Not a good sign if they cannot find ways these days to avoid Armada toys being bricks... What they do with the lower legs appears to be clever, I'll give them that, but not clever enough. Still, I reckon it'll make its way to my new shelf.
Scraphook is just fascinating - but maybe that's just my inner Ork surfacing for a bit :)
Tarn... Well, that's Tarn all right. Looks good (and is an insta-buy), but my attention then goes to the obvious DJD questions that arise :)

I have the FansHobby Naval Commander, but you bet I'll be buying the Armada Prime remake (if it is that one from 2019).
Hot shot and Tarn look great, and Needlenose is interesting - shame about the targetmasters, but if they weren't selling solo, that's what you got to do (and queue the complaints if they'd bumped him to Voyager to include more detailed TM)...
Although this only having 3 waves a year thing - is that the new normal going forward? Not a big fan - although it doesn't matter as much in Legacy given how mixed up it all is, for the more thematically consistent lines it feels a bit short...

Not sure about the number of waves. This year was supposed to have 4, but the last one was bumped to next year for reasons as yet unknown (but probably due to COVID-related logistics problems - Vietnam, where Hasbro manufactures the majority of its Transformers toys, had a gigantic COVID spike 6 months ago, and is generally having a bad time outside that spike, and I reckon that'll have been perfectly timed to screw up this part of the year for delivery).
The there's that strange statement from last month about how Hasbro produced and delivered its waves - still don't know just what it meant, but it could see the waves changed to officially trickling out whenever.
But also we've got the capsules as well, so maybe as they ramp up the standard retail waves will be adjusted a little.

Well, I have no interest in core class Dinobots.
But a core class Dinoforce... Because these do seem to be pre-tools for just that. 6 of them, so far following the Dinoking body layout. If Skar is an ankylosaur then we everyting except an explicit announcement.
And, entirely co-incidentally I'm sure :), the featured article over on TFWiki is Dinoking...
Now, if this is how Hasbro plan to do Dinoking, does it give any indication of Landcross being done with cores? It kinda makes sense once I start thinking about it...
----
Oooooh - in that poster for the line, I see all 7 Insecticons, both standard and Deluxe! Happy happy joy joy!

Id have preferred just nice Core class Dinobots (Sludge has barely any leg articulation, and a hollow neck, probably all sacrificed for the combination gimmick). Given that weve already had Slash introduced as a Dino bot my bet is for her, but Id kill for a Core class G1 Paddles. Weve -never- gotten an official Paddles toy, despite her popularity.

What a massive day for fans, we saw a taste of actually seeing the plural part of Generations come true with Legacy, but this set of reveals is a huge win for the fandom. Nothing is off the table, it truly seems we have entered a different era of sorts since Warden left. Not that he is a bad guy, he had led the way for a lot of modern CHUG, but it was a changing of the guard and surely a cultural shift for the design team that has led to this new phase of what is already a golden era for collecting. There's obviously a 1-2 year lag between the start of the production process and us actually seeing the toys, so considering that it's been a very good effort listening to what fans want and not shying away from characters/ideas for being too risky or a threat to the G1 status quo.
Some thoughts on the various figures:
Sludge and Slug
Plans: Skip
When we saw the leaks for Core Class Dinobots all in the same line, it was very exciting. Maybe I set my expectations a little high though for smaller simplified versions of the SS86 ones, but the Slug and Sludge we've seen so far are kind of ugly. The cut corners and sacrifices made for combiner mode are obvious, I just wish they'd have done more appealing colours so that the combined mode isn't the only draw. It is my understanding that the way they combine is the same format as Dinoking/Monstructor, so speculation is pointing to it being a basis for those toys to get made. We'll see how those look, maybe not being in the dull Hasbro grey will help and the combination sacrifices could be worth it. Hopefully Grimlock and Swoop look better. Disappointing but not horrible.
Soundblaster
Plans: Buy on discount
Not much to say about this guy, he's a black repaint of Soundwave (a toy I liked) with attention to cartoon details like the red visor and purple window. I always though the red toy window looked a little ugly next to the cartoon purple, so a good choice. The question is where to put this guy on a shelf, maybe as an easter egg of sorts on an Autobot Headmaster shelf, though I don't really have many characters from that era. Technically the first ever non-FOC CHUG release of (G1) Buzzsaw, hope it's a teaser. Good job Hasbro.
Breakdown
Plans: Buy on sight
Not necessarily buying this guy on sight because he's an excellent figure per se, only because he's an essential part of Menasor. Obviously big expectations with this figure after a strong start with Motormaster and to a lesser (but still existent) extent Drag Strip. Sadly it seems like they ran out of gas towards the end of the Stunticons budget-wise, as this guy is a retool of Wildrider, kibble and all. The robot mode looks great, good paint, very cartoony and honestly very close to CW Breakdown in looks. It's a real shame they stuck with the inaccurate Wildrider alt mode, it seemingly ruined or at least soured the experience of a lot of fans. I don't care nearly as much as others do though- the toy is mostly the same and I'm not a car guy. Reality is that Breakdown will spend all of his time as the back of Menasor's leg or in robot mode where you don't see car bits anyway, so a bit of a non-issue IMO and some people just want to have some perversion from Hasbro to justify complaining to no end. Good enough.
Needlenose
Plans: Skip
No attachment to this character, both modes look good and he oozes that late 80s G1 toy charm. Cool that he has both Headmasters and isn't a huge copout retool or redeco headswap. I don't plan to buy this figure but I am stoked for all the fans that have wanted him for so long with the whole vote thing, it's good to see fans coming full circle with that kind of stuff.
Armada Hot Shot
Plans: Buy at some point
Armada Hot Shot is an iconic design. I grew up with Cybertron/GF but this version of Hot Shot (and the show he's from) is the one everyone loves with a certain passion, I can see why. Armada Starscream is incoming as we speak and Armada Optimus is supposedly on the way as the Commander for Evolution, so even if that's all we get, it's a strong representation for the show, Armada Cyclonus and Megatron being the other two I presume will get made if not more. Both modes look clean, legs are a bit panel-y but get the job done. The head, torso and arm sculpts all look great, evoking that anime kind of charm. Excellent representation for the UT and a pretty figure- looks like a lot of love from the design team went into this one.
Scraphook
Plans: Buy at some point
Fans have wanted some Junkion diversity for some time, Hasbro finally let loose and is gonna test our limits. For a brand new character with no background besides being part of the Junkion faction we know, this guy has no right to be as popular as he is. Looks like a large part of the engineering budget went to this guy, as he certainly looks like a polished figure. The detailing and colours are spot on for a Junkion, alt mode is equally well-detailed and evokes that Mad Max derelict vibe. Very happy that they took the modulating gimmick of the past few lines that was IMO really only attractive for the Titan minions, and joined it with an in-universe concept we are familiar with. No partsforming required for transformation is a huge plus, as is the statement that you can mix and match in both modes. I may not end up getting every Junkion they put out, but Scraphook looks line a fun one to dip a toe. Kudos to Hasbro, definitely a lot of love and melding of being a fan + innovating likewise here.
TARN
PLANS: BUY ON SIGHT
Clearly the most exciting reveal of PulseCon, Tarn looks like a genuine masterpiece and such a huge wish fulfilment for so many fans. I haven't read the stories that Tarn is in but I am familiar with the character loosely, and this toy has me excited. Excellent paint apps and colour choices, two aesthetically pleasing modes, seemingly a lot of articulation, the guy has moving fingers. There has been some worry about the number of clear parts and how the paint is going to fare over time, so I guess this one will be one to take utmost care of and surely one of the more popular releases in Legacy/Legacy Evolution. Probably means more IDW figures along the line too, I'd like to see Whirl, Megatron and Cyclonus at least get a go as some of the more loved MTMTE designs, a deluxe Rung would be quite cool also. Not my area of expertise but hard to say if the other DJD guys will get made.
Leo Prime
Plans: Undecided
BWII is a pretty obscure pick for an English-speaking design team. I understand they also liaise with the Takara Tomy designers for a lot of these figures. Nonetheless, good to see the animated BW era get some love and with a strong showing. Like a lot of these reveals, both modes look very clean. No idea how I feel about the more realistic lion mode as opposed to the Kimba-esque anime design of the show and MP, looks fine but he could use at least a dot in each eye to give him some life. Head, torso and crotch area sculpt are all great, just the right level of mechanical detail without being greebled or too modern. I don't know what others' thoughts are on the (accurate?) lion kibble on the shoulder and forearms, but it doesn't bother me heaps. Great job by the design team, I don't know if I'll actually buy this figure but if I was given it as a gift or saw it on a healthy discount, I wouldn't have a problem adding it as an honorary member of my CHUG BW shelf.
Thoughts on the poster art:
Everyone has speculated to death on the hints in the poster. Plenty to be excited about, the Nemesis seemingly being the next Titan, likely with the big middle Tarn-like Decepticon face as his head as with The Ark. Bombshell and Shrapnel on the way as expected, should be just as good or better than Kickback. All the Deluxe Insecticons are in there as well including Ransack, so I'm curious if they just included him on the art (like Kickback) to have all of them on there, or if the Buzzworthy headswap will be ignored and promptly replaced. I sold my Buzzworthy Ransack and don't care for the Deluxe Insecticons anyway, so whatever.
A lot of focus is on the Junkions, notably that the left one seems to be a repaint of a new Animated Lockdown figure, which has me excited. Lockdown has an amazing design, he has been a frontrunner for an update for years now. Animated is supposedly coming in the second wave and beyond of Evolution, so I'd like to see them hit at least Lockdown, Lugnut, Wasp and Sentinel Prime before they're done, maybe the Constructicons are a big ask. Also probably pointed out by someone but the motorcycle Junkion with sidecar may be some sort of Animated Prowl retool, which means one of the holy listings may not be an Earthrise Prowl package refresh after all. Overall a lot to be excited for, and I'm sure the usual truckload of exclusives.

Had not considered that car Junkion as a possible Lockdown reuse but giving it another look it would make sense, Animated Lockdown had a habit of stealing parts and the new Junkion's gimmick meshes well with that as well as the existing Weaponizers/Fossilizers/Modulators

Oh interesting. The Core Class Dinobots might be remoulded into Dinoking. That takes my interest in the moulds up from zero to very interested.

Just mirroring some images and info for future reference...
Screenshots from the Pulse video were taken from here (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/09/30/hasbro-pulsecon-2022-transformers-panel-round-up-466460).
What was included...
- The first wave of Legacy Evolution, for March 2023.
- Pulse exclusive 2-pack (Orion Pax & Alpha Trion) shown again, for release in November.
- Shattered Glass Soundwave (using Netflix cassette player mould) with Laserbeak and Ravage, for release in December.
- Lite-Brite Transformers Edition (I don't think we get Lite-Brite in Australia?), for release in January.
- Magic The Gathering Transformers pack (15 regular cards plus several Shattered Glass cards).
- Hall of Fame winners announced.
- Quick bit about IDW's Last Bot Standing comic.
- Earthspark computer game mentioned.
First up, the non-toy stuff...

They had a big set built for this, and these tables were just a small part of it.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/news/2022/100102.jpg
The new series poster for Evolution, featuring quite a few different Junkions, and Insecticons, plus Armada Optimus at the top. It should mean that most of these will be released as toys during Evolution, but as we saw with the Kingdom poster, not all of them did get done as toys.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/news/2022/100103.jpg
Hall of Fame inductees:
- Favourite Animated character - Lugnut.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/news/2022/100104.jpg
- Favourite Legacy toy - Motormaster.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/news/2022/100105.jpg
- Human inductee was Henry Orenstein (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Henry_Orenstein) - someone I had never heard of before, but was said to be a toy inventor and a key person in getting Hasbro and Takara coming together to create the Transformers Brand. The likely reason why he was being inducted was because he died last December.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/news/2022/100106.jpg
Some samples of the new Magic The Gathering Transformers cards. I'm a bit confused by this, as Hasbro (WOTC) failed to maintain a Transformers Card Game, and then failed with their licensed Card Game to Renegade Studios, and now they are having yet another go at having Transformers done as Battle Cards. And this time, it looks like they are heavily featuring Shattered Glass, as 14 of the first 30 cards to be shown off are Shattered Glass cards. (regular cards are numbered out of 15, while the Shattered Glass cards are numbered above 15 without a total number being noted on the cards - while Laserbeak had a unique number as well)
During the MTG panel they showed off the rest of the first cards, which can be seen here (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/10/01/pulsecon-2022-even-more-transformers-magic-the-gathering-cards-revealed-466861).
001 - Laserbeak (not part of first 15, but is numbered 001 without a set number)
001/015 - Prowl
002/015 - Ratchet
003/015 - Jetfire
004/015 - Blitzwing
005/015 - Starscream
006/015 - Slicer (using Armada Wheeljack colours, or more accurately, the TakaraTomy colours - it seems that the character of Slicer is even more removed from its original form, of being a Decepticon Actionmaster that looked like a blue Wheeljack, which was recently changed to being a Shattered Glass character... and now Hasbro has had to come up with a new version of regular universe Slicer that isn't Wheeljack or the original Actionmaster Slicer - very confusing)
007/015 - Arcee (note - Arcee is the only one in the regular pack of 15 cards that does NOT have a Shattered Glass card)
008/015 - Blaster
009/015 - Cyclonus (using Kingdom toy)
010/015 - Flamewar (the colour deco looks the same as the Shattered Glass Flamewar, but done by a different artist to look very different)
011/015 - Goldbug (car mode looks more like Bumblebee)
012/015 - Megatron (tank alt-mode)
013/015 - Optimus Prime
014/015 - Soundwave
015/015 - Ultra Magnus
016 - Prowl (similar colours, just looks evil)
017 - Ratchet
018 - Jetfire
019 - Blitzwing (looks like it could be using Broadside's colours)
020 - Starscream
021 - Slicer
022 - Blaster
023 - Cyclonus (using the BotCon toy)
024 - Flamewar
025 - Goldbug
026 - Megatron
027 - Optimus Prime
028 - Soundwave
029 - Megatron (jet alt-mode)
(no 030, because Arcee was skipped)

Deluxe Breakdown (final Stunticon)
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/news/2022/100132.jpg
Note that the packaging was not included with any of Breakdown's pre-order listings, as it may have been originally planned to be released during Legacy, but now that it appears to be part of wave 1 of Evolution, the packaging sample that they had made up for it is probably no longer accurate... but we got a very quick look at what it would have looked like if Breakdown did get released this year. (I didn't get to watch the presentation, so I don't know if this was talked about at all)
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/news/2022/100133.jpg
Deluxe Scraphook (Junkion Towtruck) It looks like Detritus (redeco Hound) is no longer the only non-motorcycle Junkion, as we also saw on the Evolution banner image that there might be several different "Mad Max" type of Junkion vehicles coming out next year.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/news/2022/100134.jpg
Note the "Evo-Fusion" gimmick for Evolution, being a continuation of the COMBAT concept from Siege and Fossilizer from Kingdom... with the Junkion being able to be broken up into a dozen parts that can be used as add-on armour for other toys (a bit like Jetfire in the Revenge of the Fallen Movie).
The Hasbro people in the presentation apparently pointed out that, even though Scraphook can be completely disassembled in both modes, the toy can still transform completely between those two modes without removing and replacing parts (which would upset fans for "cheating" ).

Voyager Comic Universe Tarn
For those who don't know, Tarn is a character created in the IDW comics, so has never had a toy from Hasbro before. Quite a few fans here may have heard of Tarn, but I think many haven't read the IDW comics to know who he is, and what he did in the comics.... and since it would take me a long time to go into enough detail to make sense, check out this link at the tfwiki (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Decepticon_Justice_Division), as it talks about Tarn, who was in the "Decepticon Justice Division" (yes, it does sound like a contradiction, but remember the original bio for Megatron had him believing in peace... just done in a certain cruel way - the DJD is similarly misguided into believing they are doing the right thing, until they finally met up with Megatron).

And one last play-thing for Transformers fans... Lite-Brite.
Lite-Brite (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lite-Brite) is a picture frame covered in black paper that has lights inside, and you punch translucent pegs into the black paper to make a picture that lights up like hundreds of LEDs. (these days you could actually have a picture done up with hundreds of LEDs, but back when this was invented in the 1960s, this was a very cheap way to have that visual effect)
The concept is currently licensed (or owned) by Hasbro, so after all of this time, they have produced a special Transformers set, with three sheets of paper that has images of Optimus, Bumblebee or the Autobot logo, so that you know where to stick the pegs. It also comes with 6,000 different coloured pegs and 45 LEDs, while the frame itself is about 40cm by 40cm.
I don't think Hasbro Australia sells Lite-Brite in Australia, as I couldn't find it on any major retailer site, but it could be found through some independent sites who may have imported it themselves.
This is also listed on the Hasbro Pulse site for pre-order, for us$100, for release in January.

Oh interesting. The Core Class Dinobots might be remoulded into Dinoking. That takes my interest in the moulds up from zero to very interested.
https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/hasbro-designer-hints-at-core-class-dinobots-being-reused-for-dinoking/47264/
Just noting the Instagram link for that one (https://www.instagram.com/p/CjNwidkuAN4/) from Evan Brooks, and the text:
I hope you enjoyed our Pulse Con show and saw some things you can wait to get on your shelves. (Tarn and Lio Prime, right!?)
I wanted to show off the core class dinobots that we will be releasing throughout 2023.
I wanted to try and make a core class combiner since itâs been several years since we last did and thats a feature that Iâve always loved. I think that was the legends scale Abominus for Beast hunters!? Or the retooled version we did for InfernocusâŚfeel free to correct me in the comments. Many robots merging to make a bigger robot is just the best and we have so many in our history that need updates. I guess this was something of an experiment?
When Shu san and I started to work on this, we also were having conversations with Hasui san on how best to implement it. We had talked about one of the bots being DLX class to be the main body while all the limbs are Core. Perhaps this is something weâll look at doing in the future for other combiners at this scale if you all enjoy these bots. Ultimately, we went with 6 core class bots and perhaps weâll get some sort of future purposes out of these molds.
Having 2 bots form the chest also gives it some nice dimension.
But anyway, here we have Slug and Sludge who form the torso of Volcanicus! They combine using 5mm ports so you can use all our other weaponizers, fossilizers, modulators and even the new Junkions to build with them!
From the pictures youâll notice that we had to fuse their arms, removing their elbows for structural support for the combined mode but a few of the other dinobots will have elbows.
Obviously Sludge as well has a bit of Combiner kibble for his thighs but remember: âThick bots do squats!â And heâs gonna deadlift this Gestalt with those thunderous thighs.
And from his fellow Hasbro designer Mark Maher (https://www.instagram.com/p/CjLMoPkO47X/), talking about Tarn...
All hail Takara Tomyâs Yuya Onishi san! He has knocked this IDWâs comic appearence design originally drawn by Alex Milne straight out of the park! One of my mega priorities when I finally got into designing for the Generations segment of Transformers was to have biweekly meetings with our publishing team and our IDW partners. Thereâs one thing I love just as much as toys, its comics! As I mentioned at Pulsecon, my big bro @kmcomicsandtoys got me into all the coolest stuff when I was a wee lil lad. So bringing Legacy Evolution Tarn to the Voyager class was high on my to do list!!
Articulation and posability for this guy is off the charts. I even pushed for the fingers to be sculpted as seen in the comic panels because I just thought they looked so evil, unique and different, and just really rad.
The EVO-Fusion capability to not only combine but to customize how you want his 2 ion fusion cannons to be placed is endless! Aaannnddd did I mention no back kibble and no hollow parts
Transformation sequence is not only smooth but is absolutely clever and even utilizes the sequence shown in the comic panels.
Throughout this whole Legacy line you will really notice each Takara Tomy designerâs style and aesthetic. I absolutely love how both Jhiaxus and Tarn have this strong bodied Decepticon presence to them.
The baddies are really gaining some heavy weights in the line but dont you worry, the Autobot heroes have their own squad coming together that will be quite epic indeed.
The Legacy Evolution showdown has just really hit its stride! Pick your team, get ready to have the ultimate once in a lifetime battles, the likes of which youâve never been able to have before! Make room on your shelves!!

I was originally very excited for Core class Dino's especially with how good the core class has been lately. However they've now been sacrificed for this combined mode which I have no interest in. It's sad but it is what it is. I'll probably keep an eye open for the eventual repaint/remould.
Super excited for Needlenose after so many years of teasing his release. I'm torn on his Targetmasters, I mean, they're no worse than the originals so it's better than nothing, however I don't know why they didn't just reuse Scoops TM's?
Breakdown is what Breakdown is. He's basically exactly what I was expecting, with the slight omission of a remoulded bonnet. It's a shame, however I'm still happy at what Hasbro has managed to give us with the Stunticons.
Tarn is pretty nice. Great poseability so I'm in. I'm not as much a fan of the character and I don't like how the fandom has built him up as "a big bad" but he's cool none the less.
Super excited to not only see the deluxe Insecticons on the poster but Venom! That is very cool and while it doesn't guarantee a figure, it fills me with hope.
The rest of the reveals are a pass for me.
Oddly, what I am super excited for is the oversized Lite-Brite. Those things always looked cool and with the TF templates Woah man, sign me up. Hope someone somewhere stocks them in Aus. Ultimately, hurry up Hasbro and give us our own Pulse site. Even if it's just for unique non-toy items like this and Haslab.

Some more behind-the-scenes of first wave Legacy Evolution toys on instagram - Needlenose (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/10/13/legacy-evolution-deluxe-needlenose-behind-the-scenes-467908) and Hotshot (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/10/16/legacy-evolution-deluxe-armada-hot-shot-behind-the-scenes-468111).
âIntroducing Legacy Evolution Deluxe Needlenose with Target Master Zigzag and Sunbeam! Ittoku Kuwazu from Takara Tomy did a fantastic job on this fan fav!
.
The articulation on this mold is fantastic! Posing with all the different attachements and comboâs with his target masters is so much fun! Versatility is such a key attribute of this Evolution series, I really canât wait for everyone to fiddle with this guy in hand. Transformation sequence is so clean, pleasing, and somthing I really really enjoyed!
.
His Evo-Fusion feature is showcased here with his 2 Target Masters combining and forming a giant thruster. You can open up the feet underneath the engine and there is a unique connection point to attach them. Get your Gen Selects Tricranius blast effects out and really go wild with all the compatibility.
âTakaraâs legendary Takashi Kunihiro san worked on this awesome Legacy Evolution Armada Hotshot! What a pleasure it was to work with him on this key character from the Armada universe. This toy is so much fun to play with I had to dive in this weekend!
.
Letâs dive into some delicious Hotshot deets. As you can see from the photoâs featured here, the âaxelzookaâ (tire axle that evolves into a bazooka canon) is blast effect compatible and its his EVO-Fusion capability. The articulation and swivel on the bazooka mount gives you such versatility to display him however you want. If you get bold, you can actually poke out the tire axle out of the c-clip construction and attach it to the double barreled engine blaster to make the bazooka a handheld weapon. Achievement unlocked!!
.
When you collect the Legacy Evolution Voyager Armada Starscream character youâll be able to act out and play out some great battlescenes between the two. The more important thing is to give Hotshot his ultimate energized star saber weapon!
.
This sports car is just straight mean looking, I love it. Wide bodied frame, stealthy fast, low to ground, and even a sweet gunmetal type color tone for the wheels to burn some serious rubber. I would definitely put this dude into the turbo revving young punk category! đ¤Ł
.
Also to note, the transparent tinted goggles stay clear with perfect placement for his optics to see out of when positioned down, but we were able to solid coat the rest with some sweet gunmetal paint!
.
Shout out to my guy @archermonster_creative for working so hard on the Armada universe all those years ago! I hope this guy gets you amped my dood!!
And somehow, someone has already managed to get their hands on Scraphook, and posted up a video... screenshots can be seen here (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/10/15/transformers-legacy-deluxe-scraphook-in-hand-images-468025), as I don't want to financially support toy thieves.

Some more behind-the-scenes from the designers...
Leo Prime (https://www.instagram.com/p/Cj_4CLXswFS/)
âLegacy Evolution Voyager Leo Prime needs to be the king of your Legacy collection! Shu Umezu san just absolutely floored me with this absolute masterpiece of a figure. This guy jumped right out the Beast Wars II animated series and I really couldnât be happier about it.
.
This guy has all the features you could ever dream of, his Evo-Fusion Lion claw technique is unmatched. He has his Lion Typhoon attack mode with the sweet Lio missiles and blasters that have all sorts of places to flex them. The missiles even have storage in the underside of the beast hide and can actually be used as a jetpack! All the stuff is blast effect compatible, the blasters that plug in on top can remain hidden under the mane inside the awesomely sculpted lion head. He has a flip open panel that reveals his Energon Matrix.
.
Articulation is out of this world, you even got some awesome range in beast mode!
And Minerva (https://www.instagram.com/p/CkR9XtJM0g-/) (not part of this wave of reveals, but is now out in America as a Walgreens exclusive.
Its Friday!! Time to play with some toys!! Legacy Deluxe Minerva just jumped through a portal from the Super God Masterforce universe! Sheâs here to help the Wreckers in there conquest to stop an evil foe! She unfortunately lost her headmaster abilities as she came through the portal, but she does come fully equipped with 2 energon infused rifles and a sweet lightbar for her alt ambulance turbo mode!
Another character that was definitely on my to-do list for a while now, Iâm pretty hyped how she turned out. It was a design challenge to make an Elita One that would eventually be redecoâd as a Minerva. But, if that was the only way I was getting this figure, welp, challenge accepted! She was a perfect fit for a exclusive (I think Walgreens but gotta talk to @bmacatron84 , weâve tried to keep the theming to medics(scientists) started with Titans Return Brainstorm I believe)
This has been the first time I purposely left a blaster in clear with no tint color. Since the ambulance needed the blue windshield and the lightbar needed the red tint, I thought, , why canât energon be translucent clear, perhaps an energon weâve never encountered before. I made sure her other rifle blaster resembled its original look and was painted a nice glossy black.
Make sure you get your hands on the medic repair welder that was released with our Target exclusive Red Cog. It will really do wonders for playing out battlescenes where Minerva and Ratchet can help some autobots repair some damaged transistors on the battlefield.
Who will the crazy inter dimensional spacebridge portal spit out next!?!? Isnt this fun!!! What sort of Evolution will happen to our heroes next! Will the energon infused weapons be combined and utilized to vaporize cybertron? Will an evil mastermind use a mega energon infused device to mind control an army to reign supreme!?!?

Hasbro in America have sent out to selected Americans another giant promo box of free goodies... this time for Magic the Gathering (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/11/05/magic-the-gathering-brothers-war-featuring-transformers-promo-box-469487) - the new set of cards that includes Transformers cards (as seen at the Pulse Con last month).
Even though we already saw the Transformers game cards (linked here in an earlier post), we get some extra information (or confirmation if this was already known), about just how to obtain the Transformers cards.
I had mistakenly thought that the Transformers cards were being released in packs by themselves for people to then buy lots of packs to get all of the set, but it is actually a lot more difficult and expensive than that.
The Transformers cards are only being found in random packs of a series called "Brothers War"... and not even one in each pack, but one in every 10 packs on average!
Doing the math, statistically you would then have to buy about 300 packs of cards just to collect the set of 30 Transformers cards (and that's only if none are rarities)... and the reviewer who got this promo box had 30 booster packs in it and ended up with just 4 Transformers cards. Say that they are $5 per pack, that's $150 just for 4 Transformers cards (or less if you are unlucky enough to only get packs that don't have Transformers cards in them).
That's a very expensive and frustrating concept, and makes no sense why Hasbro/WOTC would do that. It's not like there is a lot of overlap of Transformers fans with MTG fans. You probably have 95% of MTG fans who will see the Transformers cards as wasted cards in the packs, while 95% of fans interested in the Transformers cards would have no interest in the MTG cards... and not even bother to try collecting them.

It does make sense, though, at least from their perspective. That's their (MTG) standard business model, and what their (MTG) customers are accustomed to. I don't believe there is any intention for these cards to be aimed at you (a Transformers fan) - they are aimed at their existing market, as just another rarity to chase (and if the person who ends up with one is a Transformers fan as well, then that's a bonus). And yes, while many MTG players will see them as a waste taking up a valuable slot in a pack, there will at least be a window of time during which you can flog them for real money to the segment (of MTG players) that does wish to collect them.
That this ends up looking like a deliberate tease and callous insult to the general Transformers fan market probably never even occurred to anyone involved.

I am one of these people that play MTG and collect Transformers... The group I play MTG with regularly all want these cards as they are very playable in most MTG formats. So while TF fans might not be interested, the majority of MTG players that I know (which is a lot) want these cards.

More promo packs have been sent out to American fansites (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/12/01/transformers-magic-secret-lair-471067), with more Transformers themed WOTC/MTG items.
This time, it looks like they are producing what looks like a small number of existing MTG cards with Transformers artwork on them.
There are three special packs, of varying prices, that were sent to the fansites in a special lunchbox, with several other promo items (none of which are being sold with these special card packs).
The packs are on sale from tomorrow in America... so I don't know if they are available to non-Americans - https://secretlair.wizards.com/us

Last week the first wave of Legacy Evolution Deluxes were found at retail in The Philippines (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/11/27/transformers-legacy-evolution-wave-4-deluxe-out-in-the-philippines-470707), and this week the first wave of Voyagers were found in Hong Kong (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/12/02/transformers-legacy-evolution-wave-4-voyager-tarn-leo-prime-in-hand-images-471319).
These weren't supposed to be out until February, but with the early release of the of January Studio Series last month, it is strange to then see Earthspark toys being released a month late.
