“During Hasbro Pulse Con 2023 a pair of new action figures will be revealed as of the Transformers Legacy United line and Screen Rant has the first look and product details. These latest designs for Bumblebee and Optimus Prime toys are inspired by their appearances in Transformers: Animated and take over 20 steps to transform from robot to their respective vehicle modes.

These new Transformers figures will debut during Hasbro Pulse Con 2023 on Friday, September 22, 2023 starting at 11:00AM ET at YouTube.com/HasbroPulse. Here is the official artwork and logo for poster tease for Transformers Legacy United:

“United” is the third chapter of Transformers Legacy, a subline of toys collecting characters from every version of Transformers, that began in 2021 as a followup to the War for Cybertron trilogy. Where most Transformers toy lines just get replaced upon completion, the second year of Legacy’s life saw it continue as Legacy: Evolution. United represents the third year of the ongoing series celebrating the Transformers multiverse.

See below for the newest United figures based on the Transformers: Animated series that launched shortly after the start of the live-action Transformers movie franchise and ran three seasons from December 2007 to 2009. Both figures officially release in January.

While I love Animated, and it continues to be one of my favourite lines, the real appeal of the line and the show was seeing these classic characters in a new style.

Having that style now retranslated back to the "standard" style removes the novelty of the design, which in my mind is so integral to the whole character.

While I love that they are bringing it back to the fore, this subset of figures is not for me.

Also, I think we see the same issue we had in Strongarm of bringing a stylised head into standard geometry - it's a little too uncanny valley

I agree above that the Bee looks odd due to the head not matching the rest of the body. The Prime, however, almost looks like a reissue of something from the original Animated era.

That said, neither are for me. Never cared for Animated, so I'll just be grateful for the dollars saved.

Just noting from the edit on the first post, that the full reveal of the new Legacy United toyline (and probably some other 2024 Transformers toys), will be in 27 hours time at the Hasbro online PulseCon, which will be about 1am on the East Coast of Australia.
So, it is likely that by the end of Saturday here, we will have a new wave of pre-orders listed at the usual outlets (or within a few days afterwards).

A leaked/stolen sample of the Animated Universe Bumblebee can be seen here - https://news.tfw2005.com/2023/09/18/transformers-legacy-animated-universe-bumblebee-new-in-hand-images-494671

I really like a lot of that. Tigerhawk, Thundertron, police car man and Tasmania Kid are all buys for me.

Check the description of Tasmania Kid (Snarl). It still lists him as transforming into a "Tasmanian devil"

It does look a little closer to one, but still off. I'm kinda torn on loving that it still says he's a Tasmanian Devil despite being fairly off, or annoyed they didn't take the CHUG approach to remedy it and make it more accurate like they did with Cheetor back in Universe 2.0

This is the most instant buys from a single wave in all of legacy so far for me - the rock monster characters looks fantastic, and I can't wait to get a decent windblade!

The Tassie devil mode looks pretty accurate to me! :) Improvements include:
* Pointier/smaller snout
* Smaller head
* Smaller ears that no longer resemble bat wings
* Smaller eyes
* Thinner tail
https://i.ibb.co/wJnDCFM/TL-tassie.jpg
They've really fixed up the inaccurate proportions from the original toy; he looks more like the actual animal and less like a cartoony generic/non-descript marsupial. Unlike the original, you can tell that the Legacy Tasmania Kid designers have actually seen a Tassie devil, or at the very least looked at reference photos. The original toy looks so ridiculously inaccurate that it's likely that those designers never even saw pictures of a devil, let alone the animal IRL. And this is also a bold move because it does make Tasmania Kid's beast mode inaccurate to the original toy and the Beast Wars Second cartoon design, but bugger that; a more realistic beast mode = superior robot in disguise! :) They did the same with Legacy Lio Convoy too, giving him a less cartoony and more realistic looking lion mode.

Okay, the colours aren't realistic, but you can blame the original for that. I would personally like to see HasTak repaint this toy in realistic Tassie devil colours and release it either as a new character, or as Beast Wars Snarl; finally establishing the two characters as being visually distinctive from each other (hey, if eHobby can retcon Hauler as green to make him distinctive from Grapple, I don't see why it can't work for BW Snarl) :)

I find it funny that some people have commented on "Tasmanian Kid"'s name, saying that it must be because Hasbro's lost the trademark for Snarl. Despite the fact that Studio Series 86 and Legacy Core Class Snarl are a thing. :D It does appear that Hasbro were unable to secure the trademark for Tasmania Kid though, thus having to go with Tasmanian Kid, but it's certainly not because Hasbro doesn't hold the trademark for "Snarl" anymore, lol. :D I also saw some people stating that it's so that they don't confuse people. This maaaaay be true (apparently it's why Titans Return G1 Chase was called "Roadburn," and why WFC G1 Barricade was called "Decepticon Runner") -- but they could've easily gotten around this with "Beast Wars Universe Snarl." I dunno... it's possible. I still would like to see a black and white-striped repaint of this toy as "Beast Wars Universe Snarl." :)

I just got home from work and checked this all out. It looks like United is going to be the lightest hit on my wallet that wave 1 of a Generations line ever for me. I only want the two Beast Wars characters, Tigerhawk and Tasmanian Kid.

Everything else looks cool, but it's outside of G1 and Beast Era so it's outside of the scope of my Generations collection.

I was expecting BW2 Tasmania Kid to just be a Rattrap retool, but that looks way better than expected!
Although I don't have much interest in buying most of what was revealed simply because they're outside of my radar, I can see that they've executed most of them pretty well.

Looking forward to seeing Magmatron at some point - I'm assuming that will be next year's commander class.

I dunno. Hasbro just revealed the big poster for the line, and Tidal Wave appears rather prominently. Twice in fact, because you see him as both robot and in combined form with Megatron. The latter suggests to me that Tidal Wave is going to be a commander instead of a titan, if only because a titan would be simply too large to do that with.

I've heard Tidal Wave will be a titan class and it will have left over parts when it combines with Megatron. Otherwise, yes, that would be too much weight for Megatron to handle realistically. My guess is the leftover parts will form some base/weapon like Motormaster's do when he becomes Menasor.

Otherwise, I don't see Magmatron needing to be a titan class. You can use three voyager level figures to make up a commander budget.

And I'm wrong. Has indeed been confirmed (https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/pulsecon-2023.1251045/page-62#post-21702340) that Tidal Wave is the titan, and Magmatron the commander.

Makes sense, especially from a scale POV. Tidal Wave was always massive, especially in the Armada cartoon (and even moreso in the PlayStation game); which makes sense considering that he transforms into three battleships. :)

And I much prefer Magmatron as a Leader Class, at it would make him in scale with Kingdom and Legacy Megatron. Now for a CHUG BW Galvatron (and TM Megatron). :)

Still at least 3 months from release, loose samples of the wave 1 toys are already showing up on ebay... so that can't be good for Hasbro's factory security.
It will also mean that some fans will already be getting their hands on these leaked toys so that they can be first to review them online.

I can only hope they're leaving all the show Transmetals (besides Megatron II) for when they can better do the metallic paint. Can't see them being super keen about the vac metal, but they acknowledged feedback about TMII Megatron (which I personally was fine with). We're pretty lucky though that the Transmetal characters in the show were basically 1:1 with their toys, makes the process of making modern toys of them super easy and hopefully focused on nailing the details.

Happy for those that want these characters, however unless I'm caught in a moment of weakness for Animated Prime, I don't see me collecting any of this wave (or poster proposed figures).

Good for saving I guess, however if this is the new direction, then it could be years, if ever that they get to the later years of G1 :(

Give it another couple years and I can see them resetting back into '84 again or flipping right into Bayverse or Prime..

I'm really glad from a brand diversity point of view with a lot of these releases and the teases on the poster, however like Kelpie has said a lot that I'm not caught up in needing a new version of or particularly interested in pursuing, which is helpful in having time to reassess the items in the collection overall and trying to save for holidays / home / kids.

There's probably only a few definites so far and a couple of maybes.

The Infernac toys are an interesting concept, but don't really have a place in what my collection is becoming.
I was hoping that Windblade might come out and be a good overall update, but they've stuck hard to the Cyberverse styling with the legs and the gaps in the wings turn me off.

The only two that are definites from me are Chase and Tasmania Kid

Thundertron and Tigerhawk are maybes. I have the original Thundertron and I'm not really seeing anything that says that this is a significant improvement. Similarly Tigerhawk seems interesting, but not quite there. I'll probably get him though as I'm keen on the BW show figures and he'll go well with TM2 Megatron and PotP Optimus Primal

Cool that Origin Bumblebee can fit inside Wheeljack. He's going to be wide though - Bee can only just fit inside SS86 Magnus's trailer and only at an angle. Wheeljack's backpack is huge, but I guess that's the price for enclosing Bee.

Meanwhile, Wreck-Gar is looking at Tidal Wave and getting jealous, lolz.

Not as wide as it might seem at first. In order to fit Bumblebee in there, you have to mis-transform Bumblebee (by flipping the wing-tips up onto the top of the alt-mode).

Didn't notice at first that it was a Voyager toy. The incorporation of all the MTMTE gimmicks, including the blast shield and blades, is nice but the vehicle mode isn't as clean as I'd expect. A few years ago I never would have expected to see this as an actual Hasbro toy but it's very fitting for the anniversary.

Tidal Wave looks great, and I think he'd make a great counterpart for Omega.

Three more Generations/Legacy figures for 2024 were revealed. A Marvel comic-deco repaint of Leader Grimlock with a crown. A Marvel comic-deco repaint of Leader Shockwave with an Optimus Prime head and stand. And a brand new Leader class Sandstorm.

I like the comic repaints. But I'll probably only get the Shockwave as I can pass Shockwave off as a more G1 cartoon-accurate deco because of the shade of purple. And it will be great to finally have a decent Sandstorm. The last Sandstorm was an ok-but-still-lazy remould of IDW Springer.

I'd like Shockwave more with out the inking/shading, I was hoping we'd get that colour as a SS86 toy.

I like seeing the Grimlock comic colours, and the missing swords are a nice touch, but still no G2 version of that toy? And he's more expensive for those swords too.

Sandstorm is disappointing, for a line that's been doing cartoon accurate toys to give him the toy face is just a weird choice I don't understand. And the thin feet look plain terrible in buggy mode and robot mode.

I'm half considering buying it for the swrods and crown, I am far too deep into this hobby i think

Heh, what a coincidence. I just read the 5th Marvel US comic that features Shockwave and the decapitated Prime, "The New Order" (I've been going through the mini comics that come with the World's Smallest figures - the first six Marvel issues.)

Those 40th anniversary commemorative boxes look nice and I like the decapitated head accessory, but I'll give these a miss.

Sandstorm is a buy for me.

There is a G2 version that came out last year. But I'm guessing you're thinking of a different G2 repaint as Grimlock had a couple of G2 repaints back in the 90's.

Yeah I mean specifically the blue one (that's the one I bought in G2), but there are many to choose from. That mold is getting a good run.

Very disappointed with Sandstorm. Kinda feels like when I first saw Legacy Blitzwing.

Very keen on the comic-series Shockwave though!

Official pictures of Origins Wheeljack are out. God I how the photographer is just a bit of a dummy and didn't know how to pose the translucent blue kibble.

Agreed. Although I am impressed he is so hollow you can fit that Cybertronian Bumblebee in there.

Unless someone has heard something, I'm guessing Silverbolt and Cybertron Starscream are skipping Australia.

So has anyone heard anything?

Apparently only in limited amounts. That makes me think places like EB games and JB won't be stocking them, but Big W might.
