Legacy Cybertron Starscream is well, an updated version of Cybertron Starscream. He features articulation pretty much everywhere, with his hands, waist, neck, ankles, shoulders, etc. all having fantastic articulation. Unlike the original toy, his torso cannons cannot move.
Also unlike the original toy (and unlike the cartoon), he comes with a blaster, which was based off an unused design from his original character sheet

As with pretty much any Unicron Trilogy figure in the Legacy Toyline, he still retains his gimmick, but it has to be manually done, as the Cyber Key doesn't activate anything (more on that later).

Compared to Cybertron Stars- oh wait nevermind.

Cyber Key

In something that hasn't been seen in a while, he comes with a Cyber Key. As mentioned it doesn't activate any gimmicks, but it's also too small to fit into any ports of Cybertron figures, making the key not backwards compatible.

Vehicle Mode

Transformation is not too complex on him. He transforms in 26 steps into a jet that's accurate to his cartoon appearance. His blaster can be placed at either the top, or the bottom of his jet mode (in robot mode, it hangs out in the back).

Honestly, he's not a bad figure. Considering how some figures have turned out lately, it's good to see a figure that is shown that a lot of love was put into it. I recommend picking him up, regardless if you like Transformers Cybertron or not.

I did notice when I was unboxing mine that it was rather easy to pop out the key and could be done without opening the packaging. Have people overseas been finding keys missing from their Cybertron Starscream?

Also, I can finally replace my Club version of Cybertron Voyager Starscream with something that doesn't look like a strange repaint. I just hope next year's Titan isn't a Cybertron Starscream.

The Voyager Starscream came with a blaster. It mounted under the nose of the jet and had a firing missile. I'm kinda bummed they didn't take the opportunity to rectify his not moving bewb guns and I will freely admit that the square chunk under the nose of the jet looks bad.
BUT I will buy it because I like this starscream design.
(shameless plug because I can't easily post a picture of the gun without faffing around (https://tetstoys.blogspot.com/2013/07/galfcestars.html#:~:text=His%20gun%20can,the%20onl y%20changes.)

I like it, but not as much as the original Galaxy Force voyager. I think if you have a Cyber Key toy, you need an activating gimmick. Didn’t stop me from buying it, because I am a Starscream completist, but still prefer the original

I was pretty pumped for a new rendition of Cybertron Starcream that had decent bot articulation but I've been disappointed. While bot mode articulation has been improved it hasn't really improved that much. While leg articulation is excellent as he's still very constrained around the shoulders and that makes the sacrifices made to the alt mode not really worth it. The alt mode is a bit fragile feels gappy. On the upside he does look great but I do which they went with a slightly lighter shade of gray than what I now realise is the sombre return of Hasbro grey. Sadly I can't really claim that this is an improvement over the original, which was not exactly best-in-class for a Cybertron figure anyway.

He got released in Japan just a few days ago so I received mine and ...

I was disappointed. Looking at him in the box, my first thought was "Dang, he smoll!" and when I pulled him out and had to assemble the tails fins and the wings, I looked at him and thought. "hmmm"

He seems to feel like he's lacking in paint and seems very limb-y. As a result though articulation is pretty good, except for the shoulders where the big black pylon things seem to get in the way. Man he look really lanky hey. I think this lankiness takes away a bit of his power presence he used to have.

Transformation is simple and pretty similar to the original toy. HOWEVER for some reason plugging the legs together is extremely annoying. They just don't easily plug in and be done. You're kind of faffing around arranging, putting this peg in, then this other peg. Readjusting the toes again. It's so damn annoying.

Vehicle mode is gaptactular and doesn't look too impressive. One thing that made me chuckle was that during transformation, you flip over the head and they have a raised nub, obviously a reference to the fact that his head was Just sitting in plain sight on the original. But then why didn't they take this opportunity to improve the moulding there and make it fit a bit better with the cockpit section? It's dumb stuff like this that makes me shake my head and wonder WTF they were thinking. (Hots shots butt windshield will be the same; why not make it better???).

having also recently gotten my mitts on Super mode Armada Screan, which I quite like, I feel that GF stars here has been adapted from Armada. They transform the same ish way, but the front of GF is the back of armada. Although, these two just copy the original transformations by the looks of things.

Another gripe I have is the lazy panels under the jet mode. These cover gaps in his robot legs, but they stick out like a sore thumb in jet mode. And they clip together way tighter than is needed. Sure they do hold the undermounted gun nice and snugly, but man they are an eyesore in vehicle mode.

Out of all the TFs I've bought this year, GF Stars is the worst one. He does look good in robot mode, but he could've looked better. I would not recommend this guy, even if you don't have an original. He just feels like a Friday Arvo job.

Galaxy Force? more like Galaxy Farce.
