....and what has not?
For me my fav so far would have to be Anime Starscream. I just love the colours and the extras which come with it.
The worst is the TFC no 1 Jazz. That thing, whilst at the time was so exciting to own, was just a complete floppy, smirking fail!
How about everyone elses?

I'd say Encore Omega Supreme, Sky Lynx & Metroplex as prices on originals were way outta hand before they were released. (Even though i still don't own any of them:p)

+1 With Rampage's.
Those are reissues we never thought we would get and came as complete surprises.

For me it was Omega. It was One of those early big toys that I never even saw as a kid (and not in real life until about 2005 or so in Griffin's collection). Actually having one I could play with was great.

Although i love Encores and all reissues (even the Hasbro ones to a small extent)
id prefer it if the toy was exactly the same like it was 20yrs ago
The Encore TRailbreaker has me torn

Good reissues:
Pipes.
Outback.
Gears.
Huffer.
Powerglide.
Ratchet.
Sky Lynx.
Targetmaster Kup.
Sixshot.
Megatron.
Ultra Magnus.
Bad reissues:
Optimus Prime, Meister/Jazz and most of the other toys they feel the need to reissue every year. New (old) moulds please!
Tetsuwan Convoy

I too like the old Metroplex, Omega, Sky Lynx love that we have recieved,
but the one that supriised me the most would have to be Star Convoy.
I got it on a whim and thought it would be just a lame block, and well, he is blocky, but with the electronic treads, base mode and Mini Hotrod, he is sooooooo cool! Never expected to actually like the toy!!

I don't really do the G1 thing, but the Predaking set from a few years ago would have interested me.

Omega is my favourite, but I'll always have a softspot for Ratchet, no matter how bad the toy is, because he was kick arse in the old Marvel Comics.

I generally am very fond of the TFC reissues as there is always something 'extra' - eg energon cubes, goodies that come with SS.
I'm glad stuff like Soundblaster and Twincast got reissued too. Now all they have to do is reissue Artfire.

I'm with you guys on Sky Lynx and Omega Supreme too.
I've got vintage ones of these but its such a chore to take extra care keeping my hands clean while handling Sky Lynx for fear that some impurities might make the fella turn yellow (just like one of my Jetfires).
So to heck with it, I just got 3 Encore Sky Lynxs and shall worry no more about yellowing (ok, it was $48 a pop in Singapore so in total, its still less than a single vintage Sky Lynx).

What are some of the best aussie places to buy the reissues and what should one steer clear of in terms of the make? I've seen a few on ebay recently, but just not sure if the price is right.
Cheers,
Chris

I love the complete approach of the TFCs, with all the goodies and beautiful packaging and presentation, but Encore Metroplex is the one that pleased me the most.

Predaking was a great one to reissue. Price on it though exceeds or is on par with original usually. What are the chances of another reissue of these?
Also....question....is the reissue done with die-cast or all plastic?

I paid $145 for mine. That's waaaaaaay cheaper than getting original complete MISB metal G1 Predacons. I have no idea what the after-market prices are, but of course that's something beyond HasTak's control.

Yeah, Predaking has been going up in price like $50 every year. I remember when it was $250, then $300 and now $350.

it'll probably go up in price till its on par with G1 loose pieces. G1 boxed US/Jap predakings would probably still command a higher price than the reissue, but I suppose more people would rather buy a minty fresh metal bodied reissue rather than loose predacons in various conditions. ;)

All of the TFC ones for me. I already own all of those toys w/ the exception of Soundblaster and I still felt the need to go and get them all. They're refreshing and exactly how re-issues should be done: with a modern sensibility.

Packaging aside I don't see how TFC reissues are much better or worse than most other Japanese reissues. And I personally prefer more G1-accurate packaging, but the TFC book-style packaging is undeniably sweet too - and the uniform size makes them oh-so easy for storage!! :D
