View Full Version : New Years Resolutions

TheDirtyDigger
24th December 2008, 09:27 AM
With the end of the year fast approaching I've been giving some thought to personal upgrades I would like to acquire in 2009.

- Abandonment of my grotesque materialism, greed and consumerism as much as possible. Yes that means no new toys or TF's.
Do I need these to enhance my existence? No.
In an era of an increasingly fragile natural environment and degraded ecosystems should I be adding to the problem by encouraging the production of these wasteful and harmful plastic products. Definitely not.
That said I can't give up my toys completely and will grab the occasional G1 to sate my evil thirst.

- To be more dedicated and focused on my studies. Too much time wasted on games, women and internet forums and leaving things for the last minute. I resolve not to do so in 2009.

and...

- To be fully observant of the law.

Hmmmm guess that's it for now.

Hang out, drinking etc with friends more while we're all still young and at uni and not tied down and shit, try to save up some money (which will probably mean I need to get a job) and just in general kick ass at life

Mine last year was to drive less recklessly. And it worked out pretty good. Much less crazy from me these days. Better for the car and fuel. :)

I don't have one this year to be honest. Can't think of anything

'Course not, doofus. I'm already the modest guy around. Its tough being the shining light of the world of all that is right in this world as it is, mate, I dont need to flaunt it or anything.

Oh and I did think of a resolution but that will be revealed in all eventuality. :)

Heh, that reminds me of what Jerry Seinfeld once said about birthdays... it's the celebration of the fact that you've managed to live for another year. ;)

P.S.: it actually makes sense considering the massive mortality rates back before the days of stuff like household plumbing, soap and modern waste management. ;)

Good stuff Turtle Boy. I thought about joining one of the defence forces (most likely the navy due to my own aquatic experience) when I was younger but I was too much of a wuss. Always had a slight guilt over it.
