Heard on the news tonight that Australians got about $1billion worth of unwanted gifts, and many will be returned/refunded/exchanged, with the number one unwanted gifts being socks and underwear.

So what stuff did you get for christmas this year that you didn't want, or will take back to the store for something better?

Almost everything my mum got me, so I can't really return it >_>

I don't understand why people always feel that they should give others underwear as gifts. I understand that its logical since we all use them (I hope) but I already have more than enough and in the last few days, I ended up with a lot more :(

I also got a bad looking shirt that there is no way I am aver going to wear as well as two sets of aftershave .

I like when people get me underwear and socks, one less thing I have to buy, so I can get more toys. And I tend to get more exspensive stuff than I would have bought myself.

Although I supose it depends on who's buying them, fortunately everyone who I'm likely to get a gift from, knows me well enough to know what I like, or has decent taste themselves. Sometimes even better than mine when it comes to shirts as I tend to just buy standard nerd uniform shirts.

This year I got I got awesome boxershorts with the cast of the Simpsons on them, and another with funky monkey designs on them. The shirt I got was not as cool as last year, but still pretty awesome with Devo on it.

I don't mind getting socks and jocks cause I'm always looking for some, I don't know where I lose all mine but there is never any in my wardrobe...

Anyway, I didn't really get anything unwanted, things I don't really need yes but it is the thought that counts, I did get a singlet that was too small but I exchanged that for one that did

Underwear and socks is too familiar too me and is more of a personal thing, just as bad as buying someone deodorant.....

But that said, I reckon that unless the item is wrong sized clothes, something broken, or something specific that is bought to go with another item that just happens to not be the right one, then if you even think about the exchange counter, you're a selfish ungrateful tard.

And yes predictably, the bigw was chockers full of people doing returns yesterday.

Yeah I am also not the type who returns gifts, I find it morally wrong even if I don't like the gift and would never use it.

I don't know about morally wrong, but I do think it is rude. Unless they are saying "if you don't like the print on the shirt we'll exchange it"

My wife got me a Decepticon insignia shirt for Xmas... thing is, I already have too many Decepticon clothes, not enough Autobot ones. So today I exchanged it for an Autobot shirt (pic posted in the acquisitions thread).

You should have just swapped it for a wife beater.....

C'mon man, you should have just gone and bought the autobot one instead.

I am really over the gift thing. I now make cards or gifts for those nearest to me, or buy something I know they like after giving it a lot of thought. Otherwise, it is cash.

I need a new pair (again) but not sure if I should even bother as I've crushed mine, lost the replacement which was a gift and then lost another pair. That's about $600 worth of sunglasses for the year for me already. :o

Think how many Transformers those sunglasses could've bought you! Me, I just buy a half-decent looking $20 pair and make do, since I usually lose or break them anyway.

I got given the obligatory trash for Christmas (fortunately not much this year as people have learned I don't like being given things), nearly all of it has gone to charity or been given away to friends. Only thing I kept was a rather fine pair of socks from my boss.

A puzzle. I dont have time for puzzles, And they drive me crazy, I dont have patience to make it, I will probable give it to my puzzle-loving sister :p also I got the puzzle from my grandma.

But I guess my 10178 Motorized AT-AT LEGO set made up for a crappy puzzle :D
