I went travelling for a year in 2006 and while it wasn't specifically a shopping trip, certain unforseen circumstances - including visiting Japan twice and being enamoured with their love of fine crap - meant I bought a hellava lot of stuff along the way. So I'd trundle off to the post office whenever it got impractical to lug around (I was only backpacking).

Alas once I got back home I had the equivalent of half of pallet of stuff waiting to unpack.
Heh yeah, I know the feeling... I used to live in Japan - I was sending back boxes and boxes of toys, manga and all kinds of other "fine crap" :D

Looks like my entire January toy acquisitions amounts to just 6 figures.
- Gen2 Green Snarl (from wheeljackslab, so it was guaranteed to be 'broken', with the listing saying it was in perfect condition...)
- FABs BBee and Barricade from TheDamned. (ties up that loose end - only need 2 Titaniums and 2 Robot Heroes I will have every Movie toy Hasbro released.)
- X-dimension Emergency Micron Team from Zippo. (also ties up that loose end, as that was the last X-dimension team I was missing)

What a painfully slow start to the year, thanks to no new toys in AUS for the last 4-6 weeks.

Online order arrived today. Animated Wreck-Gar, Atomic Lugnut, Universe Smokescreen, Dinobot, Beachcomber, Bumblebee and Brawn.
Way too hot to wrestle with twist-ties and I'm scared they might melt like how wrapped cholcolates are. Leave them be until it solidifies.

Heh, nice. I got that toy back in 2004 as my 666th Transformer. I very intentionally wanted to have a Decepticon leader for my 666th Transformer - I ideally wanted Megatron... I waited weeks and weeks for it to come out, but it didn't, so I gave in and got Scorponok instead. Still works - he was leader of the Decepticons during the early part of Energon. :)

I'd really like to get Animated Perceptor as my 1337th Transformer... hrmmm...

This was Skywarp :) I wanted to create my own custom Black Seeker - but to drive home the point of it being a seeker, I've painted the deco to be consistent with the other seekers that were already made (Henkei Seekers)
No Bot mode yet - as I left his feet hanging at home - Oops
Still need to clean up the paintjob as well - but that'll happen in good time :)

The customs officer asked me something like, "What is this?" so I told her that it was Galvatron from Transformers Cybertron/Galaxy Force and proceeded to tell her the entire basis behind the Unicron Trilogy and a summary of the history of Transformers lore... which took a considerable amount of time. :)

Hehehe, I had fun last year when I had to migrate my Tfs back from Phils to here. When they scanned the bag they couldnt make out what was in it and had to ask me since its all obscured with all them ziplock bags, bubble wrap and newspaper. I told em its TFs. I could tell they were reluctant to open my baggage since it was packed and boy, I sure would ask their help to repack it since they were the ones who wanted to see it. Glad they didnt. The Xray lady just called on her supervisor and he asked me " Are you a collector?". So I said "I sure am!" and showed a few shots of my TF room from the camera. That convinced em hehehe.

I guess she was just concerned coz there are a lot of the diecast TF registering "metal" on scan, i dunno. Didnt have to open a single bag though. :D:D I hope you packed plenty of bubble wrap to protect the toys jay, those baggage boys can be quite "mean" to baggages on transfer. twould be a shame to see em in "pieces":eek:

Last acquisition for the month... gave in when I was at Kmart and bought SE Dragstrip :o.

Still got enough control though.. ok a bit. Initially picked up Superion Maximus, Animated Safeguard ( pretty underwhelming IMO) and SE Dragstrip. Kept on walking around the store for an hour and I ended up with just Dragstrip and a big box of Laundry detergent :p at the checkout counter.

Brawn is awesomesauce, Beachcomber is meh. Left Activator Megatron and Grimlock on the shelf, not worth paying $23 for them, plus Megatron's packaging makes him look like he should be all silvery and metallic when he is a normal flat grey in reality.

I think both Henkei and Universe Cyclonus look good - it depends on whether you prefer G1 show or toy accuracy. I prefer toy accuracy so I'm gonna get Universe. :)

Picked up these bad boys this morning. :D That's 3 of the Screamer clones I have now (don't have Skywarp yet). I wonder when the female one will come out and whether she'll have a different head (as seen in the show). Here's hoping.

Cliffjumper is pretty meh (large head is laaaaarge), Beachcomber and Brawn are both excellent and must haves, Bumblebee is utter cack (why didn't they make him the new VW Beetle??) and Dirge looks surprisingly good in his random paint scheme.

I believe that's a policy that Porsche has for toy lines; something about not wanting associate toys based on their vehicles with war. Henkei "American Classics" Version Onslaught.
He has no blue and he has no olive drab, so he's not truly Gen1, yet I like him so much. The colors of the Universe version seemed so washed out. And while I'm not a fan of electronics, especially just for the sake of them, JP Onslaught's are wired right.

I'm all for the appreciation of complex engineering (even if Beast Wars Neo made me wanna cry) but there's something uniquely satisfying about instinctively changing a G1 minibot from one mode to the other...

Gok, are you saying that Kmart has them for $20 or $23? Did you notice if they scanned as "Deluxes" or "Activators"?

They scanned as "Deluxes." I took it to the counter with a Deluxe toy and pointed out to her the difference between an Activator and a Deluxe and how this was clearly a smaller toy and not the same price point. She agreed with me and called her manager, but the manager told her over the phone that she had to sell the toy at whatever it was scanning at. She explained to her manager what I told her, but the manager told her to sell the product at the scan price - she was adamant about it. Oh well... I later found the same Activator at Target for a cheaper price.

Saw them in an independent toy/sports store in Milton on the NSW South Coast, it's about 10 minutes north of Ulladulla along the Princes Highway.

Damned and Bartrim are the closest members, and might even know the store I am talking about.

This arrived in the post last friday on the 30th, thanks to KC99. Only 2 acquis in a month, that's by far the least I have in my time of collecting TFs... :rolleyes:
