I'm doing great so far:(

I gave in and bought it :( Particularly since there won't be an Activator version of the character which I do like in Animated.

However I didn't think the toy was that crap, for $5 its decently well engineered even if the robot mode lacks shoulder articulation.

Got these lovely little jobbies from Zippo the Awesom-O. Cheers man, kept em all nice and fresh for me and I had to bust them out. Suprised at how small the Ultimate leader of the hordes of the Vehicons really is. Neat toy though, esp with his cape for the robot mode. Tankor = Good fun.

Goktimus - it was the voyager Animated Cybertron Megs..... liked him in the store but when I got him home I had second thoughts. I think I will leave my Animated collection at just the Dinobots for now, though if and when the Rodimus Prime figure comes out I think I will have to get him.

Found this accidentally at an ALDI store while shopping for sponge and cheese. :D :D :D. It was only $2.76 per set. They also had Wall-E, Marvel Heroes(the tin box was really nice I almost bought it too!) and Winnie the Pooh.

The tin pencil box was pretty crappy, as in it dents easily as I had to search for a good one. But oh man for that price, I'm not complaining. :)

I'm in the USA helping my Mom move and popped into a bunch of shops today:

1. A comic book shop which was selling Henkei's for US$25 and Universe Deluxes for US$17. Made me think we had it pretty good. Then I noticed these two boxes filled with zip-lock plastic bagged toys... new releases complete for US$7 each. I asked what the story was. He said they have a colleague who comes in with boxes periodically to sell on consignment. Says they're used for displays for Hasbro and transformed once. I bought Cyclonus and Hound and went back later and got Whitescream and Sideswipe!

2. I then hit a Target which had not-so-new Animated and some not-so-new Universe, and their prices were a bit more as expected with Deluxes being $9.99. However, surprisingly, Activators and Bumper Battlers were either $8.99 or the same price.

3, I then hit a Walmart which had just placed all of their TFs in shopping carts as they were condensing the toy section back down. I saw a Blazing Lockdown and a Bumblebee so started digging for Blurr and Swindle, but the jerks said it "wasn't really a good time". I shoulda argued, but I didn't. I saw a beat up Incinerator and asked how much that was. He said it was on clearance for US$11, so I grabbed that. Bonus!

4. Then, while out to Dinner, I saw a KB Toy Store across the street. KB is out of business and entire stock was 50-70% off. So I got Animated Sentinel Prime, Swoop and Bumper Battler Ratchet for US$5.15 each! :eek:

I'll start the drive down to Florida trying to his many retailers as possible on the way, so hopefully will find more new figures and cheap post xmas deals.

EDIT: Oh yeah, there was a complete Energon Towline waiting at my Mom's house for me I had found on eBay cheap. I'll be having it repainted into either Ironhide or Ratchet. Can't decide yet.

Yeah, I can't be bothered waiting for retail. Even at the low dollar I'm only paying a small amount over rrp locally (assuming dlx = $25, voy = $50, Activator = $18). With those prices I paid only $10 extra including shipping and seeing that prices are generally at $25-$30 for dlx Animated figs plus the hidden costs of hunting such as time and travel expenses. The extra impatience-tax™ is well worth it. Sales won't be coming thick and fast anymore since it isn't the silly season so I doubt I can realyl save all that much more.

Plus who knows when we will get these waves of figures.

Also mainly because I'm addicted and really can't wait. Damn addictive plastic crack.

The chestplate is there.... i've opened both sides to review the inner chest for the Maximal insigna. Hoist has the spec card for No. 46 and the marking has Hasbro 1982. I know the jap reissue figure is 1985. is this the one?

This one's not really an acquisition for this month - in fact, I bought it about 3-4 years ago at Animania and used it for my Optimus Prime costume for SupaNova 2007 (http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y227/goktimusprime/Conventions/SupaNova%202007/supanova08.jpg). Today I had to throw that costume out to make space in my garage but I salvaged the badge and stuck it on the back of my car. ;) There wasn't much adhesive left after I tore it off the costume so I wouldn't be surprised if this badge falls off sometime in the near future. But before that happens I took a photo!

Still haven't received or bought anything yet this year, which is a long time for me without new toys. :p
So I thought I'd mention what I bought yesterday, because it was in 3 separate lots, and won't sound as 'impressive' when they arrive at different times.
With the release of the Energon series on US DVD in December, I went on ebay and bought all the remaining (unique) US Transformers cartoons that I didn't currently have. Which was, Robots in Disguise (UK release), Armada, Energon, Cybertron, and both seasons of Animated. I'm actually quite excited about soon having all 25 years of (unique) US Transformers episodes in my possession.
Now we just need the JP BWII and Neo series/movies to be officially released (if they haven't already), so I can get my hands on the last 'unique' Transformers cartoons produced, for my collection.

*unique - refers to episodes in one format, like having Cybertron instead of Galaxy Force, or Gen1 and not G2 or 'season 5'. Yes, I'm looking at you roller... :p

Watermark..is that good or bad. I was thinking that since i don't have a particular mascot at the moment and wanna make the images i capture "belong" to me...watermark was the way.

I'm torn by them now. The packaging is unlike other Takara packaging and if u open it, u ruin the box. I want the tech spec cards but feel bad about ripping apart fhe packaging. I'm thinking I'm just gonna be look out for a spare set instead. :eek:

My first G1 acquisition in awhile. One thing I noticed I loved about G1 that modern toys don't have is a lot of extra accessories. However, it also reminded me that I'm just not that keen on G1 toys anymore. 2 seconds of play and it was almost over. :rolleyes:

i played around with my BW scorponok

i doubt i will ever find a loose cyberbee, so i took the other arm off a junker and now he has 2 complete claw hands, it was hard to take him apart, unlike the other BW toys, his arms arn't ball joints, alot of freakin around with the screw driver and finding screws that had lost their tread:mad: but i got there in the end, and he looks cool :)

Got my Season 2 DVD in the post today. It has a couple of commentaries on "Garbage in, Garbage out" and "Mission Accomplished." Better stuff than the first season but a few more extras would have been cooler. There is an art Gallery that features a lot of bots that just aren't in season 2 (Oilslick, Jetfire/Storm, Soundwave). Bring on season 3!!!

Also picture my Bumper Bots coz I didn't take one before. Oh and some hi-jinks that happend! Those crazy animated toys, a little too much personality in them methinks;)

That takes me back...

I went travelling for a year in 2006 and while it wasn't specifically a shopping trip, certain unforseen circumstances - including visiting Japan twice and being enamoured with their love of fine crap - meant I bought a hellava lot of stuff along the way. So I'd trundle off to the post office whenever it got impractical to lug around (I was only backpacking).

Alas once I got back home I had the equivalent of half of pallet of stuff waiting to unpack.
