hay I just realized and is keeping me awake that by April 2009 there will be 27 henkei autobots against 12 decepticons, from rumours each fraction may get 1 add. Character, so it got me thinking from a pure design point of view what characters will HAsbro design to get the most of of it's mold, one come to mind iis Arcee(moonracer,elita-one) only way to even the score is to crete more decepticon henkeis

but Arcee, Moonracer, Elita 1 autobots? that would further unbalance the number of autobots versus decepticons ;) just a typo you must be tired :)
Well Arcee will likely get a few repaints with a new mould in the movie line and we are getting an Animated Arcee so again some probable repaints. Elita 1 is definitely on the cards. Moonracer less likely I think. A mould in Universe/Henkei could happen if the character is a big hit in the movie, if she is as popular as bumblebee.
More decepticons they could make a Swindle out of Hound, A Breakdown out of Sideswipe. I'd want new heads though.

But Decepticons are more powerful than Autobots so therefore it it will works out that the Decepticons ere outnumbered thats my theory anyway

The goodies have often outnumbered the baddies in Transformers... so I'm not sure why it would bother you now some 25 years later! Machine Wars had a perfectly even 50:50 split between Autobots and Decepticons, and Beast Wars came close. Then you have Beast Machines where the Maximals were vastly outnumbered by Vehicons. :D

I wonder if in Henkei they might follow Hasbro's lead and rerelease toys from other lines as 'classic' characters, eg Constructicons based on Cybertron or RID toys or Combaticons based on the Cybertron combiners.

I'd rather have new original moulds over repaints. We haven't had an original gestalt since 2004. (-_-) (not including Animated Safeguard)
I wish HasTak would retool Meantime and release him as "Classics" Time Warrior. (T_T)

Yeah new head moulds (and preferably other little bits of retooling) are the key for me too. I would have bought SE Dragstrip if it had a new head, but as is I passed.

*nods* Especially in Sydney where most retailers are selling Universe SEs for around forty bucks. (-_-) So not worth it for a straight-up repaint.

I would prefer new molds too but that won't happen unless Tak-Tom decides to have a strong initiative in developing their own toys instead of waiting for Hasbro to come up and approve an overall design.
However I would settle for a good remold of a modern mold to look more G1.

The feeling I've always gotten with the Japanese market is that it isn't too accomodating of repaints. I'm not sure if that's right to say b/c some of the main cast are repaints in Henkei but in the other lines, we never saw the recolours of many Cybertron toys into their markets. Cybertron Cannonball is a perfect example of that.
I've been doing a bit of research into custom fodder and in all honesty the only toys worth repainting into a G1 homage would be Cybertron, late Energon, and Classics 1.0 toys. The BW molds if they were available could be used for some of the beasts/creatures but I wonder if those molds have survived.

Perhaps TakaraTomy just don't have the demand (or pressure from Walmart) to pad out their line with heaps of recolours like Hasbro do?
It does mean missing out on the chance of getting some recolours/characters that TT would have done a better job on the colour scheme.
