Surprisingly good. I have never wanted the Powerglide toy (since it looks nothing like him) but Stormcloud is quite pretty and If he is still around after my trip (doubt it though) I may go pick him up, he looks nice and decepticon-y.

I was up at Avoca this week, and Erina Fair had quite a few that I hadn't seen before.

Target had the 25th anniversary Optimus Prime reissue, as well as what I think was a whole lot of Masterpiece OPs-I didn't look closely enough. There was also lots of Universe stuff.

Myer had a random assortment of stuff from Animated (Oil Slick, and first wave voyagers plus Leader Megatron), Universe (Galvatron, Sunstreaker, Ultras and Voyagers, including Dropshot), the movie (Armorhide), and even the Classics line (Optimus and Jetfire).

There was also a Toys R Us, but I didn't get to look there since it was closed for a stocktake.

KMart had older SWTFs and the usual assortment of overstocked Animated Leaders. They do have a couple of An Swoops and Sentinel Primes, at least.

TRU has boatloads of the usual suspects - the movie repaints, An Leaders, some real gear repaints and the Universe Two Packs. Oh, and the not-so-nighttime Animated Nightwatch Prime Bumper Battler thing.

Target had two Pink Primes and nothing else.

Didn't check out Grace Bros... couldn't be bothered (:

It's worth checking out online prices. Import prices are expensive. The shop's in Haymarket btw so you could just walk over and check it out yourself. Aw heck, at their inflated prices I guess not many people would be wanting to scalp from them - it's Modellers World. :p

Milton Toy Shop (about 10 minutes up the road from Ulladulla, heading towards Sydney) had the new Legends, both 25th anniversary and Animated, as well as the next wave of Activators: Dirge, Grimlock, Megatron and Bandit Lockdown.
Since it is a private store, prices are more expensive, the LEgends are $9 each, the activators $23.

Missed out on checking Uncle Pete's at Nowra who are often pretty good as they do not do late night Thursday trading.

Kmart Mt Druitt had the standard fare, finally getting in Swoops and Sentinel Primes, still had over a dozen Animated Twin packs, and 3 S.E. Megatrons.

Were selling off the Screen packs cheap, cannot remember the price, and they were also advertising the Optimus and Bumblebee 2 packs for a sale price, but could not find a single pack.

And strangely the Mt Druitt Kmart is opening for longer hours, from 8-midnight during the week and till 7pm on the weekend...anyone else have a local store opening longer hours?

Big W Chullora has restocked with earlier Universe deluxes including Prowl, Sunstreaker, Galvatron and Octane.

K-Mart Broadway has a row-thick wall of Ultra Magnus (Ultra Magnuses? Ultra Magni?) which have been there since December, and some Commander Cody SWTFs. There's also a big 3-pack of Starscream, Arcee, and Optimus Prime that was aroun in November. Evidently they couldn't sell it, put it away, and have now dragged it out in case anyone wants to buy three toys for about $200.

Ultra Magnus is beginning to annoy me, since it's occurred to me that, while loads of him are sitting on the shelf unsold, new product (read: Grimlock) isn't going to be restocked anytime soon.

Big Ws Rockdale & Miranda have some of the newer SWTFs - although none have all three. Rockdale had Grevious (I nabbed it) and still has (as of yesterday) the Tie Bomber and the Yellow Ring-Fighter. Miranda has the ring fighter.

Not much else in St George/Sutherland Shire, although I didn't check Menai.

Yea gone are those days, TRU has become expensive to buy toys from. Though the Spec Eds of Optimus, Megs, Overkill and Dragstrip were cheaper than other stores I saw em at.

Blacktown Kmart had Movie Leaders reduced to $23.
They had a tag there, but no figures. For the same price you can get the move screen packs.

Sitting on his lonesome was a solitary 25th Cheetor, no trace of his brethren, nor any price tickets for them.

Also had a tonne of the Elite Bumblebee, Jazz, Sentinel Prime Swoop and Oil Slick figures, plus the leader class figures for their insane prices, $29 for a deluxe is just getting crazy.

Was at Bondi Junction Yesterday (5th March) and saw Transformers Animated Stealth Lockdown in Target, can't remmber how much sorry. Other then that Bondi Junction stores really didn't have anything to offer.

Went into Hobby co at QVB and saw TFA Waspinator, Blurr and samuri prowl.

More of a TFA fan sorry G1 guys, but i did spot a reissue Galvatron and Skylynx at the Borders book store in the city. I think Galv was going for $200 and Skylynx was going for a lil more. Other then that the rest of the city had very little to offer. Only mighty muggs at Kings comics. Myer and David Jones had the usuall TFA Ultra Magnus, Swoop and sentinel prime.

Toys R Us Rosebery had a whole host of those Universe Deluxe figures, i can confirm i saw Megatron and Optimus. They also still had a Voyager Starscream, Lugnut and Cybertron Megatron.

Yes i was a busy boy yesterday, but it was my birthday and since i got slim to F*&K all i decided to treat myself and went on the hunt for some more TFA figures. In the end i came home and went on to Ebay.

Was at David Jones in Wollongong this afternoon and they have several Universe Hounds, Cyclonuses and Cheetors.

Myer Wollongong also now have Universe Cyclonus, Hound, Starscream and Cheetor in stock. Judging from what the cashier told me, they were just put on the shelves today.

Uncle Pete's in Wollongong have tons of Universe Dinobots and Smokescreens. They also still have the latest Robot Heroes releases, and they also have Legends TFA Prime and TFA Bumblebee.

I work in retail and believe me the squeaky wheel will get the oil. Complain loud enough, long enough and you'll get what you want. Because they will want the sale.

On Friday a customer got a discount because some idiot sales assistant (I'm non-sales) neglected to remove a little sign that said, "promotion."

I went into Myers today to try and score some new animated toys whilst at the same time testing out their price match policy. She said that was under cost and would not match it. This shitted me no end - under cost??? I asked her what the cost price was which she said she could not disclose but assured me it was under cost. So I proceeded to ask if Big W, K-mart and Target were all selling their animated deluxes "under cost" as well since they all sold their deluxes for less than Myers price. She refused to comment but said she would not match the price. I asked for the department manager and it turns out she was it. I was going to ask for the store manager but I wasn't going to waste my time for some toys. I was so steamed up that I just left. I have not bought any new TFs since January due to the lack of new stuff on the shelves and when it finally appears, ridiculous pricing and availability prevents me from buying them. No wonder Lego has my attention of late. I raise a one finger salute to Myers and Hasbro. :mad:

The Wholesale price for Deluxes in 2008 for Australia was $17. Not sure if Myer's 'cost price' includes transportation costs, but it shouldn't get above about $20-22.
Claiming that it is above $30 is just their way of getting around the price-match policy, because they don't have to prove it, they can just say it is and reject your price-matching claim.

Sounds like it might be worth mentioning to Fair Trading... This is clearly deceptive conduct on the party of the store via the department manager.

BIG W and K-Mart would be selling under cost then! K-Mart is at $28.99 at the moment for these.

The fact that she said "yes as long as it is under cost" sounds to me like she was priming for her standard reply. In any event, how would she know the cost off hand like that? I've spoken to staff at Myer who say "I didn't even know the sale was on until a customer told me". To have such in depth knowledge about the cost of one item out of many is fanciful, in my opinion.

It would seem to me that the major problem in australian pricing may be the stores putting too high a markup on TFA, which as we know restricts how many we can buy. Ive been collecting tf since 1984. I remember that prices for tf in the past seemed a bit more reasonable. but today it has just got out of hand.

What i propose is that we ask [en masse] that Hasbro Australia set up an online DIRECT store that sells to the public [australia + nz only] at very close to cost, with inexpensive post. [DUDE THIS IS NEVER GUNNA HAPPEN] true. but hasbro has to be losing money with their toys pegwarming like that and the stores not buying any more...

If hasbro did this and you could buy a transformer [DLX] for a reasonable price like $15 - $18 then it would be heaven [plus post??]

I like the concept of an hasbro online store for Aus NZ only and with reasonable postage and discounts for bulk orders. I don't think the individual price would differ much from retail, maybe $2-3 less, and plus postage = no savings there.

You are right about the pegwarming problem, I imagine it would cut into sales with stores not ordering new stock. I suspect though when a new wave is available they order 1-2 cases of the popular Deluxes and Legends and hold off on the Voyagers and Ultras. But surely it must be a question of availability as well.

Store exclusives in America can show up in any store here, and sometimes still have the American store logo stickers left on them (like Target logo stickers on toys that are TRU exclusives here). There are no 'alliances' when it comes to toy exclusives here, as Hasbro AUS approach each retailer with the various exclusives without prioritising any particular chain.
There was the exception of the early release of 2007 Movie toys to Target, because they piggybacked off US Target's Movie internet promotion - but later 'Target' Movie toys were released to other stores here. Depending on the promotional partners with this movie, we could see the same again, but I think it's just a matter of wait and see if Hasbro AUS let us know in advance, somehow (if the Q&A program folds).

Since they "upgraded" the bus interchange at Blacktown I'm not sure if the Mt Druitt-Castle Hill bus goes via Blacktown and the T-way or via Quakers hill Parkway anymore. Not that it matters as the Castle Hill TRU is nowhere near the main shopping centre...

To get to Rouse hill you would have to catch a bus to Blacktown then the new T-Way Rouse Hill-Riverstone service...

Target Blacktown was empty bar a Blazing Lockdown, and numerous Battle Screen Packs. Big W Plumpton has the last two waves of Universe Deluxes for $26.

TRU Penrith had the Movie Voyager repaints, more movie role play weapons (PDA, camera etc) than you can poke a stick at, movie turnarounds, generally loads of any movie crap you can think of. Oh and an animated Jazz and Oilslick, and Mighty Mugg Soundwave and Megatron.

The TF section is half an aisle, but barring 3 pegs or so is all old movie stuff. Penrith continues to be the dumping ground for the NSW TRU stores.

There's no comic stores in Wollongong anymore. The Phantom Zone store there closed down several years ago.

There is a comic store in Liverpool, The Comic Shop (http://www.thecomicshop.net/) which is about as close to you as there is now (other than the ACT ones).

They are usually a little more expensive, but Kings Comics (http://www.kingscomics.com.au/catalog/) who are based in Sydney do deliver Australia-wide for $3.50 postage, no matter the size of the order. Works out to be a decent deal if you buy a months worth of titles in one hit.

If you're after comics, it would be probably be cheaper to online shop then drive to Sydney. That's if you know what you're after.

Kmart Penrif have also expanded their TF section.

It has tripled in size, with there being 8 pegs of Animated deluxes, 4 of Universe Deluxes, 3 or Universe Legends, and the shelves underneath chock-a-block with Universe Voyagers and Leaders, plus a couple of Animated Voyagers (mostly Prime).

It was the fullest TF section at a Kmart I have seen since just before the first live action movie was released...

And besides which, any Target that's put them out already is proving the spectacularly high caliber of it's workers - the boxes are covered in stickers that clearly say "DO NOT DISPLAY UNTIL MAY 30", they're also positioned over the seams of the box at the top, so there's no way they can open them without seeing the sticker.

as of last saturday, Parra westfields. all shops that sell toys are either bone dry from tf toys or overflowing with animated, universe 2.0, and TF07 movie stuff.

as of yesterday, Blacktown westpoint and kmart. all shops selling toys are pretty much the same as Parra shops. Target is very very low on tf stock so you might get lucky with a re-stock for thursday night shopping.

as of monday, both BigW and Target are running very low on TFs, target had about 10 of each of the preview figs but theyre all gone now. again, may get lucky with re-stocking for thursday night shopping.

Went out to East Gardens today and saw Big W had both Megatron and Prime Leader class figures for $88. Voyager Prime, Starscream, Demolisher and Ironhide. Also had lots of the deluxe figures like dirtboss. Didn't pay to much attention to them sorry.

Checked with Target and spoke with one of the guys who recons they are putting out all there ROTF stock tommorow (28May09) after having to pull it off the shelves a couple of weeks ago as ordered by Hasbro.

Target miranda, We put our ROTF stuff up today after the green light from Hasbro was given. We got leader class megs and optimus, voyager starscream demolisher, ironhide and prime, deluxes, scouts, robot heros, FABs and 15%off until saturday.

By the way I read a post on here yesterday about staff being illiterate and not being able to read release dates. This kind of ticked me off, especially considering the majority of stores that broke embargo was thanks to management. not regular staff.

i think i may have picked up the last of just about all the deluxes and voyagers that i got but there are still ironhide repaints and alot of the scouts, bumbleee and soundwaves

sadly when i was there, no leader primes or megatron just 1 or 2 voyager primes.

the shelf where the tfs usually are was empty except for bumblebee 2 pack thing from TF07

just popped by Blacktown target, (gee im on a mission today hey) my advice, drop everything and go there now! the next few days is going to be a goldmine! they have so much TF stock that they are still putting it up on shelves and theres alot more boxes still left to unpack. i just picked up Optimus Prime. there was alot of stuff already on display. didnt ask for a Leader Megatron, since that would make me broke and i've got my anniversary with the mrs so my megatron money is going toward nice dinner lol

Just got back from East Gardens today, and happy to report Target is now packing leader Megatron and Optimus. In addition they have the 4 voyagers i.e. Demolisher, Starscream, Prime and Iron hide. They also had the Deluxe Sideways, Rampage and the other 2 Autobots scum. (Sorry im more of a Decepticon fan) Lots of the tiny guys like Dirtboss. I saw the rep putting up the figures and asked if she knew when the next wave was expected to hit. She wasn't to sure but said we should expect to see new figures around September. Oh well i guess i'll have some time to bring the bank account back up. Still seems to be a loooong wait.

K-mart Had excatcly the same gear only they don't have the 10% like target.

I also went to TRU at the supper store in Roseburry, Hopping to find Darkwing with nil success. Seemed they were a bit behind the 8ball as they didn't have any ROTF figures out either. When i asked one of the staff they had no idea what i was talking about. You would think in this day and age everyone would be trying to get there stock out as quickly as possible and make as much money as they can. Oh well guess TRU aren't feeling the financial crisis like the rest of us.

Now im just wondering if anyone has spotted Leader Jetfire, Voyager Long Haul, MixMaster and The TRU exclusive Darkwing. If so what stores and what suburb?

Just had a shopping spree in Parramatta (so glad that I've been slowly saving up for these toys in the past few months - allows me to splurge without going broke! :)).

Sighted:
Kmart = Scouts, Voyagers and Leaders
Target = Scouts and Leaders

The Scouts were cheaper at Target but the Leaders are on sale at Kmart. So I grabbed the Leaders from Kmart then went and got 3 deluxes and a Scout from Target. I went back to Kmart to get Demolishor and in that short time all the Scouts were gone as well as all the Demolishors save one which was hidden behind other Voyagers on an endcap. Either these things are selling like hotcakes, or some scalper SCUM had been through there. I hope it's the former. :/
