This topic will cover items (mostly toys), that are first sighted in Australia at a Major Retailer/Online Source that obtains their stock from Hasbro Australia... as well as sometimes noting the first release for a certain store-chain or state if it is some time after the first sighting in this country.

Lockdown sounds a lot like Optimus, strangely enough. No real catchy phrases except for "Who's gonna stop me? You? You couldn't stop an oil leak."

Soundwave is the real star of the show. I've been waiting for him with the most gusto. I just love his machinated voice. Funniest soundbyte... when triggering via the bumper...
"[screeching noise followed by a loud crash then...] OW!"

not sure if this is "new" or not, but its new to me, went to jay jays today and saw 2 transformer jackets, one white with grey decepticon and autobot logos tiled all over , and one brown jacket with prints of megatron and optimus with random patterns of related words and small images of the seekers. they are going for 40 buks.

The Tin and Gel Set also has a movie version, but I only saw one left with a dent on the tin box so will get one another time.

I've got an as yet unconfirmed report of Samuri Prowl being out and about. Was spotted in Northland, Victoria, being carried by a kid between a Kmart and a Toy Kingdom. I've been there and couldn't see any more, or anyone else from that wave, but the sightee is adamant that it was him.

We certainly are falling behind a fair bit on the Americans (they just had Roadbuster Magnus found in the last couple days, which is 2 waves ahead of us in the leader class - a less frequent class then the smaller classes).

I imagine that we may end up getting a big catchup of heaps of new stuff at once flooding the stores, or we miss a few things during a wave skip or two.
But it should be soon at least, as stores are starting to look a little light on their TFs stock. Something Hasbro AUS promised wouldn't happen this year after last year's fiasco.

It's about time they were officially sighted at a store. I reported seeing Megatron on Christmas day, but only in the hands of a kid who got it as a present from someone who wouldn't have imported it. Considering Hasbro AUS had them since November with the Animated promo events, I'm surprised they took so long to get released to stores.

thanks for the info on stormcloud. He must be kind of rare though or I just missed him. I'm sure he will turn up again in febuary. Its weird when new toys come out they sell out and then continue to stock shelves with the previous wave. I see powerglides at Kmart and BigW often.

Probably. I don't often see the smaller toys front-paged on the global fan sites, so wouldn't know for sure.
But often when we have a drought, the catchup after usually includes some of the newest items that haven't been released elsewhere yet.

Also had these guys, and the Animated Legends, as well as the Grimlock, Lockdown, Dirge and Megatron Activators at the Milton Toy Shop. Overpriced though, $9 for the Legends, $22 for the Activators.

So it seems like they are finally hitting the independant stores country wide.

Tiby's find at an Uncle Pete's is an independant, so can't be related to a national chain, and could even have been a direct import (if they were getting impatient about no new figures in the last 8 weeks).

Looks like they are making their way to any national chain stocking that series now. At least, to any store that needs to restock.

Blurr's car mode is very very nice, I especially like the back wheels!

I've also seen that item here in kmart last week but I wasn't able to buy it - nor even post it. :o So I reckon that is the first posting here in the forum.

There's another version of it where it comes in a plastic packet with holes on the side so as you can file it in a 3-hole binder or so. I also thought I saw an animated bumblebee version of that as well.

I was almost tempted to buy it last week but, for whatever reason, the other side of me is doubting its quality.

Is it just me, or is paying almost deluxe price for figures that are a repaint of the same figure over and over, perhaps with a new accessory or head, really value for money? These things don't even transform! They use the same shapeless parts for the body of every figure in the line, including Star Wars, Indy, Marvel, etc. I remember a sale at Myer where it was buy one get one free, at $20. $10 each was worth it I thought.

Sorry about the rant, but with the recent price rises across the board for TFs, this seems like a shameless cash grab.

Went for a wander this afternoon after work, and discovered that Myer and Toys R Us in Hurstville, NSW are both stocked in wave 1 of Mighty Muggs, (Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Soundwave and Megatron). Well, minus the Megatron now, as he's safe and sound at my place. Anyway, thought i should let anyone who's interested know that they're starting to show up in Sydney now too. Same price at both stores - $24.95.

Not really a first sighting, but the Hasbro MP Starscream is appearing at Toyworlds (Hasbro use them as a dumping ground for excess stock) lately. They were originally a Toys R Us exclusive a couple years ago, and people like me had a really difficult time finding one. Hope others who still want one have better luck this time.

If looking for Universe Treadbolt, Kmart seems to be the best source at the moment. I found one locally recently, and aside from a couple of TRU sightings, Kmart looks to be the store that acquired most of that assortment.

And Toyworlds seem to be the common source so far for Universe Inferno, Leo Prime and Overload.

I've been trying to track the release of the recent five Animated Deluxes (Swindle, Blurr, Blazing Lockdown, Waspinator, Samarai Prowl), but they still seem to be isolated sporadic appearances at places like TRU, Toyworld and Kmart. At least they are out here now, even if it is fairly slowly.

Items in stores and on shelves are "an invitation to treat". This means that the store invites you to make an offer to purchase the item. Once the store accepts your offer, then the contract is complete and the sale is made. Placing the item on the shelf does not constitute an offer so that your willingness to buy does not constitute an acceptance.

But this may not be consistant with stores elsewhere. Everything else pretty much the same.

What store did you find the RHs at?

Ricochet/Predaking and Inferno/Tigatron have been released in Singapore and the UK (and maybe a few other European places). It's good to see them here as I have all the other G1 sets except for Ricochet/Predaking. The other ones that were due to be released after them (Laserbeak/Prowl, Starsaber/Deathsarus, Primal/Jetstorm) have been canceled and there are currently no plans to release them. Which makes me very very sad.

Nah I already have Jazz so I passed on Smoko (not a big fan of repaints). I had a look around Chermy today but only really paid attention to scouts - I was after Ransack. Kmart was the only place I could find them and there was tonnes of em - Ransacks and Depthcharges galore. Shame about Depthcharges legs otherwise I would have snapped him up as well.

I saw the new Prime helmets at Target Robina, but was disappointed to find that the voice is AGAIN not Peter Cullen, not even close. Does anyone know if a later wave will contain movie phrases, like last time - or is this as good as we are going to get? You sure? The ROTF Prime helmets I've pressed have Peter Cullen LOUDLY yelling at Autobots to roll.

I was with Tetsuwan Convoy at a Target one day and saw one of these helmets. I too thought it sounded Peter Cullen but Tets thought otherwise. :p

I too am sure that the helmets have cullens voice as he does sound a bit different in the movie compared to the first one, even his voice in the game sounds different.

Saw ROTF Scout Reverb (Knock Out repaint) at Toyworld today.

Target appear to be getting in the last two Animated Bumper Battlers (Workzone Bulkhead and Stealth Ninja Jazz) as well. And from the same non-US source as Toys R Us. Broadway Target had them, as well as a heap of Optimus Helmets.
The Helmets are definitely different to the 2007 Optimus Helmet. This one has a different colouring (a scratchy silver and gold highlights), plus moulded Cybertronian symbols into the panelling, AND all new quotes in Peter Cullen's voice.
If it were like $20, I'd get it in addition to the 2007 Helmet for the extra Cullen quotes, but it's an expensive non-action-figure... so not gonna happen.

You have to go into a small arcade located next to a beat root cafe and into an Op shop with alot of books, theres a toy section at the end and I've come across more then a few transformers, my last aqusition was Scoop(no targetmaster guns) and before that an armless Thundercracker and semi Complete Dark Crumplezone. It's very hit and miss but can well worth it.

I spotted Legends Wave 2 at a Target a couple of week ago but have never seen them again. There were two prior sightings made by other WA fans before that, one at a Toyworld and another at a Kmart up north (apparently with Wave 3 too).

Yeah, I've been looking forward to Legends Mudflap, so hopefully they're out soon. :) They're all over the US and Canada from the sounds of it.
