From the IDW comics editor blog, news of a new TFs book being planned, with illustrations to reflect Robot Heroes figurines. THe story itself doesn't sound like it is intended as a Robot Heroes storyline, or only cover RH figurines. It just sounds like a kids' book project with illustrations that resemble the style of RH figurines.

In May, we're going to be doing a TRANSFORMERS picture book--that is, a hardcover-with-dustjacket, squarebound, 32-page thing, similar to the other kids' books we've been doing through our Worthwhile Books like. I wrote this first one, called I AM OPTIMUS PRIME. The art is being handled by Joe & Rob Sharp, and the image here is the art that will make up the wraparound dustjacket.

An image is included at that link of the dustjacket image.

Cannot wait, the art style looks fantastic, and that's what I'll be buying it for, (I assume the story won't be too crash hot! :p).

Nice to see IDW diversifying, perhaps you'll be able to find some decent transformers books in actual book stores (as opposed to the movie sticker and activity books).

I love the G1 Robot Heroes designs and the boxart so this should be pretty cool.

Judging by AHM, this will also be in IDW's main continuity right?

Zing! :D

Afraid not Zed, it doesn't have the super cool Drift in it, so it cant be in continuity! :p

Transformers Q-Robo (http://snakas.web.infoseek.co.jp/figure/q_robo1.htm) are way cuter than Robot Heroes IMHO :p

I might pick these RH books up if they're not too dear. :)
