Could we not have the alt mode spoiler in the thread topic please at it also appears on the main board outside of the movie section. Thank you.

Please try to be careful with the topic titles in this section, as a description can be as much of a spoiler as the name itself. Especially any construction vehicle, because the existance of Constructicons in the Movie is still not officially confirmed to be true (if they are in it at all).

That is one ugly toy though. And the person photographing mustn't have had much time to secretly film it, or they just couldn't work out the robot mode. Actually, aside from the vehicle mode and showing the robot head, I don't know what the point was of all the other photos.

this is consistent with that rumour that the constructicons will be combiners though -
Ie - the robot mode only comes together when they combine!

strange colours though, never seen that alt mode in those colours.

At least its consistent with the rest of the movie line... FUGLY!

i seriosly hope that this is the worst of the constructicons or its gonna end up looking like one ugly combiner. I was hopeing that the colours would compliment each other for the seven figures but red and white is just crappy

Robzy

I'm "loving" these crappy figures so far... means I won't have to waste money buying them, and I can spend more on Encore/Animated/Henkei :p

Seriously though, I hope the characters in the movie are better than their toy counterparts!!! :(

I hope this is mistransformed, and he actually transforms to a bot. I think the color scheme is not to my liking, not terrible though. If they are going with red I wish it had more an earthy tone, and less cherry.

I think it is important to remember that you cant always make a direct match to a robots g1 counterpart. I think that non Transformer fans would think its a bit silly (maybe corny) to have a big green G1 style devastator (Perhaps if he was grimy and dirty like his vehicles would normally be in real life). People are probably going to be dissapointed too when the vehicles dont drive up the gestalt as its forming too (its just nont real enough)- I would like to see the bots climbing their way into position. Its a bit hard to describe really, but in a very primative way. i guess like climbing up a tree.

For the sake of variety , if indeed there is a devastator combiner, they will all have different color schemes but will share some colors in common. When they combine hopefully works out to be uniform and not be a jumbled mess :D

You would hope so. I think they tend to make all the bots in the movie at least a bit pretty.

indeed, agree 100% sometime it seems people get too hung up on g1 likenesses. Variety is the spark ;) of life

indeed, agree 100% sometime it seems people get too hung up on g1 likenesses. While I see your point, I have to ask - who are these films made for? Fans or non-fans?

I think sometimes filmmakers try to please EVERYBODY when they make movies based on an existing concept (with a fan-base), and end up with an epic fail! Sometimes the source material ain't so bad!

Unfortunately( really dissapionts me) i think movies are just made to make money and sell merchendise these days. I think we are probably lucky the writers are fans otherwise they could possibly make worse movie.

Yea they are turning out to just be 2 hour commercials these days.

Have a look at the timing and types of merchandise. Previously you'd have to wait months/years for any related merchandise to turn up, now it's all at the same time across a broad variety of mediums.

I remember watching the first movie and getting caught up in the thoughts of the toy merchandise as I saw the characters.

But then not too long ago, I thought, no, don't do that mv, it's consumer-whore-ism, don't go there again.

So with this movie, I'm not going there. I'm only going to buy a toy if it's something really spectacular, like a fully combining devastator that has individual transforming bots, otherwise, nope.

As for the pictures of this one, meh, looks pretty not great. And the scale of it, look at the control room, if in scale, this one will totally overshadow the other construction vehicles and be a bot that is bigger than optimus on its own.

Non-fans, no doubt. While there are nuggets thrown in for the fans, the real target is the wider audience, and their parents, who have money, for toys, and video games, and toothbrushes, and the Optimus Prime portable Walrus cleaner (guaranteed to clean even the trickiest of sea-bound mammal.)

But again I have to ask... why bother? I mean, it's not like a 6-year-old kid is going to know the difference between Transformers (which has a 25 year history) or a brand new concept called "Super Amazing Battle Robots". Kids can't tell the difference between old (Transformers) and new (Ben 10) - they love it all!

I mean, to a 6-year-old, even Batman is "new". Hell, Wall-E is new - and kids can't tell the difference. It's ALL new to them! So here's a thought for all of those would-be Hollywood writers/producers/directors... why not CREATE a NEW concept (like they used to) instead of taking an existing concept and fudging it up so much that it's completely unrecognisable!

Don't get me wrong, I'm very pleased that we're getting new Transformers movies made, I'm just disappointed that they seem to bare no resemblance to what I know (and love) Transformers to be.

As a fan I demand (and deserve) better than being an after-thought!!

Original Ideas are hard! Hence so many remakes (PJs King Kong, Rob Zombies Halloween, the Micheal Bay produced Friday the 13th remake, the horror of Emmerichs Godzilla, etc) and American-ized Asian horrors! (Ring, Grudge, etc, etc)

And it's funny, all of those films you listed aren't anywhere near is good as the originals! King Kong was better visually (of course), but not story or pace-wise!

Oh and don't foget - Bay is going to ruin... I mean, remake Nightmare on Elm Street (http://defamer.com/350700/michael-bay-ready-to-ruin-nightmare-on-elm-street-for-a-new-generation-of-horror-fans) too!

hey, guys, I saw some updates from Sybertron Star on ACtoys.net,he said his has some gimmick in his arms

the vehicle mode is quite detailed. and the most amazing thing about it, is that this guy, is the first Transformer in history with a "real" pedrail! I always dream of it and Hasbro has never done it before, now the dream has come true, almost moves me to tears, I love him even if he has a Wall-E-like body.http://pic.actoys.net/attachment/Mon_0901/41_17938_33c27bc079d407e.jpg

Hummm...yes, I forgot this guy,too.http://i385.photobucket.com/albums/oo299/amon0102/zangief.gif

I became a serious TF fan between Armada and Energron, so I knew this guy a while after he was released. When I first saw him, I was like "holy!don't tell me this is a Transformer, too" I mean, this guy is too boxy and kid stuff, he even doesn't have actual legs. I even doubt Aaron Archer borrowed this mold from Play-doh. I noticed that his treads were real, but they weren't really part of the transformation, so I forgot this guy has real treads quite quickly.

well, I shall put it this way, this S**** S**** guy has the first real transforming vechile treads in Transformers history. And I rekon it is quite a milestone.

So, finally, this is how he supposed to transform. cann't imagine it until the superbowl, I find the one wheel look just strangely charming!

Apparently the guy cann't stand on his solo wheel, have to use his hands to support himself.

I guess it's the best they can do with the toy, but it looks ridiculous in the trailer too.

Ha ha, it's absolute garbage, (on its own). That's assuming there are others that it combines with. If so, then I expect them to be equally as stupid as stand alone toys.

And still assuming there are more that combine, these alone as stand alones put me off from getting them all right now. The combined mode would have to be spectacular.

But yea, it's still pretty heavy compromising they've done there.

What would be really cool if the voyager constructicons came packed with a deluxe constructicon that they could combine with.

So you could have vehicles, robots, combiner robots and then everything could again combine to make devastator.
