ohh forgot about the Voyager Animated Prime that has new insignia! nicely done

Jay was VERY thoughtful. He remembered me being a completist/sucker for OP variants and went looking for it before I realised it was out. :p

You gonna open these? or will they remain in their prisons? If so be careful of the waist plate ( connector for Longhaul, Scrapper and Mixmaster) it's not as strong as the G1 plastic.

These children of the 90s are loose on card, there little plastics bits open up, so they can be free:) Hooks cab leg falls off though:( i dont feel up to it to fix it, can't see how.

When my G1 yellah scrapper shows up, i'll put a pic of all my g1 mould constructicons together

They are so bright! they are almost glow in the dark, no really!

I declare that we start a 'I own the Orange Constructicons club'

I went to KMart today. Still no Grimlock, but they had more Universe Legends, so I got Megatron.

Even though his colours are more muted than the G2 toy he's based on, they are still utterly horrible.

Hey Kyle, is that "red" more vibrant than the original release of the Voyager or is it just your Camera? That red is so rich!

sad to say it, but this blokes customizing career is over
the gun is of a poor quality (not smooth, has burs from the mould, clear handle isnt even at 90deg to the gun itself...) and the same with the missiles (theyre not actually in straight..)
looks alright from a far, so i wont get too close :P

hoping for some more aquis soon, to make my month even bigger :D

Thanks to Wiigii for the powermaster. Man I cant get enough of them!!:D

Generations book is awesome!:D Great shots of MP Grimlock and Alternity Convoy, comparing him with the real car! A good look at Disney label, although its a lot smaller than I expected. HEAPS of variations of g1 Convoy listed. Bad news for those Convoy completeists (Kyle, better not look);).

They have a bit on Henkei up to Cyclonus and as a suprise I though, have a pic of the universe version in vehicle mode. Probably to make the Japanese feel good aout themselves. Lets just say that Sideswipe and Sunstreaker of the Universe flavour don't come out too well...

At the back it has some very cool concept sketches from the diaclone days. They were quite nice looking, but perhaps a little ambitious. Interesting to see the ideas for Magnus forming, with a motorbike combiner set.

Has some non-japanese catalogue scans. I was suprised to see that New Zealand seemed to have its own type!!! Compared to Australia that got the others. Wierd.

SO looking forward the rest of the books now!:D

And your verdict on the most awesomesauce Universe figure (Inferno) is?

And your verdict on the most awesomesauce Universe figure (Inferno) is?

Interestingly enough, he is based on the G2 Inferno (not sure if everyone knew this already, maybe I am just slow :) ) given the "water" cannon he has rather than a ladder. I have the day off so I will open him today and post some brief impressions.

In the meantime, I literally squealed when I saw him in the shop, thinking I would have to import this guy! My secretary who was with me after we went to Court together got a whole new perspective on me I guess... Leo Prime took some convincing, but his bio made it worth it. Overload, on the other hand, makes that 2 (or 3?) versions of Cyb Defence Scattershot in the Universe line so I left him behind.

I expect to utter a similar noise when i finally spot the bugger myself.

Too bad you aren't a Penrith Panthers fan, the Leobreaker/Nemesis Breaker toy's sound byte is the exact some "big cat howl" as they use at the Panthers home games.

So is Leo Prime's head retooled to look more like Optimus Prime or is it just a straight repaint of Leobreaker? I think that mould would've looked nicer with Lio Convoy's colours personally.

It looks like a sort of squashed version of Optimus Prime, which is a shame. I think it would have been better to be a new character, not another Prime clone.

LOL, I too thought Gok was being rude and the pic was to show the Clone Trooper covering Brawn's ears in an effort to protect his innocense.

On a more serious note, G1 Nightstick can fit into Henkei Cyclonus' hole quite snugly. :p

Today's acquistions and WA party report. Thank you so much guys!

http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=84091&postcount=69

What a meet today! One of the best meets I've had ever!

First of all, 1orion2many gave me a very nice surprise today! I don't know who all of you are, and I don't know how best to thank you all. I love the toys and they're very much appreciated! Now I finally know why 1orion2many and griffin asked me some strange questions a while back. :o:)
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee16/Kyle_Chow/DSC00008.jpg
Thank you so much guys!

It was great to catch up with Tets, Kurdt, Ark-Ivor, 1orion2many and Autocon. Also nice to meet some new faces today: Bruticus and his buddy Trung (whom I've actually met before!) and Tetsuwan's gaming friend. Playing Street Fighter IV with you all was really the awesomest! I hate you now Kurdt (just kidding :p), for beating the final boss after like just 3 attempts, while it took me well over 2 hours before! :D And thank you very much for the lift home. :) I seriously need to invest in one of those lovely arcade sticks now, and can't wait to play all of you again online. Big thank you to perfect party host Tets for showing us your lovely TF displays and the awesome games Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Maybe it's really time for me to try the Wii homebrew hack for TvC. The other game House of the Dead was so much cheese and it was so good. Now I'm very tempted to get myself one of those Bang Bang Box packages. :o

I agree with Kurdt we should hold TF/gaming meets like this one more often. Nothing beats enjoying good games with mates on the couch. We had so many good games but so little time. :p Definitely will invite you all to my new place after I move in in April. (Roller you must come then! Today would have been more perfect if you were here.)

Also big thank you to party host Tets and Autocon for my other lovely acquisitions today:
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee16/Kyle_Chow/DSC00010.jpg

I'll wait for Ark-Ivor and Tets to upload their photos and groupshots later. :)

Sad to say it, but after opening Universe Voyager Leo Prime, he now ranks as one of the biggest rip-offs Hasbro has concocted yet. The lion's "voice box" has been removed so the button now only operates his jaw with no effects. Now we have a chunky torso where the batteries go, a voyager price tag, and a dodgy retool of the head into a squashed version of Optimus Prime's head.

Maybe this was common news to others, but I am disappointed, moreso by the fact that I was umming and ahhing about getting him in the first place.

Yeah i have, its cool, very detailed and articulate....but its really light (in weight) and the red is not as bright as the pictures but more maroon and accurate to the movie colours....its not a real negative, just an observation...

I saw it yesterday and thought it looked like a gigantic pile of arse even in its packaging. Still, it could have been worse. They could have continued the Disney theme after Mickey and used the mold to make Mufasa Prime.

I'm more annoyed by the fact that Leo Prime is supposed to be Lio Convoy, yet they didn't do him in the proper colours, which they managed on the Legends toy of the same name from the Classics series! Wow, way to muck up.

That's quite dissapointing. I wonder if the Vector Prime repaint is the same. No soundchip as well. Am still going to get Leo Prime as it matches Cybertron Leader Prime's colours.

Like Botcon exclusive Alpha Trion (Timelines), sadly, he has been gutted of his electronic features, rendering the Cyber Key pointless. The battery compartment is riveted shut.

I guess they wanted to keep the electronics restricted to the Ultras.

howd this hiccup happen?

They had only been recently put out on the shelves and when my missus scanned them through the self serve lane they made the register have a hernia. So the assistant came over to assist and she couldnt get them to scan either. So the girl took off for a bit and when she came back she said they were $8.88 each. My missus said that wasnt right but the shop assistant insisted that was the price her supervisor( or someone ) told her to charge us. Whole process took about 20 minutes. Needless to say i was quite excited about the whole drama!

Well you wouldnt believe it but my Missus was back at Big W today checking out a laptop so she went over and checked the Transformers again- to my delight there was a universe Cyclonus there. She scanned it and it refused to show anything. So she checked some of the others and they scanned fine at $23.88. She spoke to a sales person and explained the problem with the other two figures from two days earlier. It would seem that the figures were not on their system. She told them what the normal price was... but still came out with an $8.88 Cyclonus. It was only three of the figures that scanned like that and they were all the ones i wanted!:) . Mysteriously Cheetor which was the only other new figure there scanned at normal price.

Youd think they would get their act together after the first time?

Id also like to mention that at no time did my beloved state that they would have to sell these to her at a cheaper price- she was 100% honest on both occasions.

Sorry guys im keeping these for myself! lol;)

My beloved also found me a cheap legends Megatron and Movie Hacker x-3. Got both for under 10 bucks from Coles supermarket.

Happened to me as well. In the end I had to tell them what the price was and paid full retail.

I'm still in love with my Universe Cyclonus though. Paint apps are nearly flawless (theres a speck of purple on one of his bunny ears). If I were more of a girl I'd ask him to marry me.

If you've got the two Dreamwave trades then probably not. There's a few designs scattered in of the characters but those might be in the oriignal Vol 1 trade? Quality wise there's a couple of pages that look quite bad (like scans not original art) but otherwise it's pretty much the same as the original comics, just smaller. I remember that in the original comics there was one page where Motormaster and the Battlechargers had the wrong colours but I can't find that in this book so maybe they corrected that mistake.

Ah February, my last full month of non-mortgaged freedom...

Animated Sentinel Prime. I'm digging the personality of the figure and of the alt mode (something Animated continues to do very, very well). But something is... lacking? I don't know. There's not as much of a sense of there being More Than Meets the Eye than as with other figures. Yes, vague I know.

Animated Blitzwing. I'm sorry to hear others have had bad QC experiences with him. Mine has no such issues thankfully. As it's been said before, having to transform between these three modes in this size class is just a tad too ambitious. But he's got personality, and personality goes a long way.

Encore Trailbreaker. The original was perhaps my favorite Autobot I owned when growing up. Something about all those chromed accessories perhaps? He's not as I remember him (naturally) and I was initially unsure as to how I'd react to the all-spark blue visor, but as a total package the figure is great.

Encore Hoist. I'm neither here nor there about the character, but I'm typically all about the toy when it comes to collecting anyway. Plus I enjoy reissues.
