A brand new Ghostbusters line (http://www.poeghostal.com/2009/02/mattels-mystery-line-ghostbusters.html) has been announced!! They will be available on the Mattycollector website (just like the new MOTUs)


Sculpted by Four Horsemen Studios, the team currently working on Mattel’s popular DC Universe™ Classics and Masters of the Universe® Classics collectible lines, the 6-inch line will come complete with authentic “Ghostbusters” equipment and ghost.Oh this will be sweet!!!


Mattel will also create characters and ghosts from the classic animated series, “The Real Ghostbusters,” to go along with the classic “Ghostbusters” film.It keeps getting better and better!!! :o

Dont talk about that garbage - though most of the voices of the characters from that series is basically Frank Welker ( talking to himself - weird :p) but then so did the TRG series

Thanks Robzy! Ive been looking out for the Slime users for a loooong time. Still trying to look for that Banshee bomber I saw from the 80s commercial. Too bad their not selling just Slime, was tempted to buy TMNT with slime just for the slime, but nah.

I bought the first season of the Real Ghostbusters, thanks to this forum! It is great and I remember it was one of my favourite cartoons. I wish they would release the rest of the seasons in Australia, or even the complete box set. Will this ever happen?

It will interesting if they produce some figures based on the Real Ghostbusters cartoon for the Matty Ghostbusters Line. From reading from their site they do mention Movie Ghostbusters and The Real Ghostbusters in the description for the new figure line.

Yeah... the RGB remains one of the BEST cartoon shows of all time, not just the 80s. Very intelligent and funny for a "kid's show". I'm not sure if we'll be getting any more DVDs yet. If not, I'll be trying to get my hand on that Complete Series Firehouse Boxset.


It will interesting if they produce some figures based on the Real Ghostbusters cartoon for the Matty Ghostbusters Line. That Bill Murray sculpt is really fantastic! I'm so glad he's finally on board with all this GB stuff. It's been great hearing all 4 original cast members in the new video game.

These new figures are unbelievable... I'll be getting both the 6 and 12 inch lines. I love that we're finally getting Walter Peck too :D (and he comes with the Containment Unit!! :eek::eek:) - now Venkman will get to face off with his nemesis in my display room! :D

Ray doesn't look that much like Dan Aykroyd. He does from the side but not the front.

Apparently Dan's facial likeness is difficult to capture (think Carrie Fisher & Mark Hamill).

Still, I reckon he looks great! One thing I've noticed about having the Egon figure in my hands (and it's something other GB collectors have reiterated) is that it looks MUCH BETTER in person. I know we collectors always say that, but it certainly is true. The 6" Egon looks a little off in every review/gallery I've seen online, but he looks remarkably like Harold Ramis when you see him in real life. Photos don't do justice, so I'll wait and judge Ray for myself when he arrives.

The packaging on the 12" is really, really cool! He has his own locker, which is a storage area for his accessories!

I have been collecting these myself. They are not great (soft plastic weapons) but for the most part they are pretty good. I don't see how far they can really take the line though

I'm just really stoked to finally get figures from one of my all time favourite movies! :D There are a few things they need to iron out, but overall the quality of these figures is very high! Much better IMO than the DCUC figs (I collect them too).

I still think MOTUC is the single best toy line being made at the moment, but I think these GBs aren't too far behind. The 12" figure's Proton Pack alone is a WORK OF ART!! :eek: I'm so amazed by it.

As for how far this line goes... well, I hope it continues for some time. Matty recently made mention of Dana and Louis figures... I want Terror Dogs and Mr Stay Puft! :o They also mentioned (about 3 months ago) that they were gonna do Real Ghostbusters figs too down the line! Fingers crossed...

What a year it has been for Ghostbusters! Hands up... who knew this time last year we'd all have 6" and 12" figures of our favorite paranormal investigators and exterminators in our collections?

With the buzz of a new film in the works Mattel was able to score the much coveted license of the classic Ghostbusters and all their villains and allies! Thanks in a huge part to our great partners at Sony, Mattel was proud to debut a brand new line of highly detailed, fully articulated figures of the classic 4-some starting with an exclusive Egon figure at SDCC 2009.

We knew that the first figure at Comic Con was going to have a "slime" deco to make him stand out at the show. Since Harold was the first actor to approve his likeness rights, Egon became the first figure in the line paired with the ghost sidekick Slimer. And yes, we are well aware that there is demand for a non slimed version. Not to fear! By the end of 2010 we'll have a new Egon out in movie accurate deco with a PKE meter. He isn't in the cards in the immediate future, but we will get to him.

SDCC was followed up by a roll out of one new 6" figure every other month and one new 12" figure once per quarter. And what amazing 12" figures these are! Not only did the GB line premier Mattel's brand new 12" body, but they each included authentic GB accessories like light up proton packs, traps, extra hands and real cloth uniforms. Our goal is to finish up the 12" movie 1 line up by the end of 2010. So look for more large scale movie masters coming your way every few months throughout next year!

The 6" line is also really taking off. We've already got Ray and Winston under our belt with Walter Peck heading your way in a few short months. Walter will come with an in-scale containment unit that works perfectly with the trap already available with 6" Winston! We've got a lot more great accessories for future 6" figures in the works, many engineered to retroactively work with previously released figures! Just wait for a few great surprises. We've got this line well thought out...

We've heard all the fan requests for more characters, both good and evil from the GB world. At this point we have secured all of the core likeness rights so look to finish your movie 1 core team by the end of 2010 with plenty of 6" scale figures offered about every other month only on MattyCollector.com.

At NYTF in Feb. we'll have at least 2 new 6" figures to reveal (possibly more if the sculpts are complete in time!). Our collector night is Feb 14th, so be sure to hit your favorite fan web sites for all the new announcements.

SDCC will bring a new GB exclusive as well as some big surprises and an all new scale for the GB world. We're also looking into some high end prop replicas, more 12" and 6" figures from Movie 2 as well as a look ahead as we gear up for the possible third film in the works!

At Mattel, we've only just started to attack the full world of Ghostbusters toys. From the movies, to the classic animated series and beyond, we have a whole paranormal world to explore in lots of scales and styles! A lot of great items are in store in 2010 and beyond. Glad to have all the fans along for the ride!

Next we have a brand new figure... Lab Suit Ray. Very, very cool for GB fans! I'm stoked for 2 other reasons too... firstly, he comes with (what I think) is the blue ghost from the 1st movie which terrorizes the subway crowds, and secondly... he also has the sniffer!! :D Now, the sniffer is one of the best tools they have (in terms of inducing laughter from the audience :D) and it was made famous by Dr venkman when he has no idea how to use it, but is trying to solve Dana's problem (ie, get in her pants)

Hey Slime Fans,

I wanted to jump in and give a quick update on what is going on with the GB line in 12" and 6" scale. We've had a few delays in release dates, but all six 6" figures and the Peter and Winston 12" figures are still set for release in 2010.

Orignally we had intended for a new 6" figure to ship ever 2-3 months. But, inevitably due to circumstances well beyond our control we had a few hickups (this is why we don't do preorders for any of our lines!). But we are back online now and 6" Walter Peck is scheduled to hit Mattycollector.com in May. This will be followed by Slimed Peter in June and Labcoat Ray in Aug.

12" Peter will hit in April followed by Winston in Aug.

We're running a bit behind but by the end of the year we should be caught up and ready for even more Ghostbuster fun in 2011!

There will be three more 6" figure for 2010 yet to reveal plus a really great SDCC item that will knock your socks off! The Ghostbuster fun has only yet begun - only on Mattycollector.com!

Lab Coat Ray will ship in Aug. He comes with the Ghost Sniffer later used by Peter in Dana's appartment!

Ray comes with the sewer Ghost. The eyes will be painted on the final figure and will glow in the dark!

Slimed Peter features an all new Peter head, untucked pants, gloved hands and comes with a new Slimer sticking out his tongue! He ships in June.

Walter Peck now ships in May and comes with an in-scale containment unit that opens up to accept the trap that comes with Winston!

Only slimer Ive seen so far and some random clear plastic small ghosts with stands from pics you guys posted.

Yeah, I like the new Slimer too... the translucent one was cool, but I like the solid lime green!

Yes, there are more ghosts on the way. The next figure ("We're Ready to Believe You" Ray) comes with the Sewer Ghost (sometimes referred to as the Subway Ghost) from the first movie.

More figures will be announced soon (SDCC at the latest)... I'm sure they will get to some more iconic ones before too long (Terror Dogs, Gozer, etc).

You should definitely contact Matty via email and let them know. Honestly, they're pretty good. I had an issue with one of the MOTUC figs I bought, so I emailed them and they shipped out a replacement straight away! Good luck.

I don't have a pic, but apparently the much rumoured upcoming 4-pack has been confirmed in the last few days.

I've heard that it's going to be a GB2 4-pack featuring the 4 Ghostbusters in their darker grey uniforms (from GB2) and wearing the Santa Hats (again, as seen in the film) which may be removable. I believe the set will also come with Slimer.

Again, I haven't seen pics yet, but maybe we'll see some images from SDCC next week...

Pretty cool actually... much better in person than what I was expecting. And he speaks!!! I only wish they could've used Lorenzo Music's voice.

I'm actually surprised how cool he is... very different to what I'm used to collecting. But I like it! I'm looking forward to when the line proper is released.

They've fixed GB2 Silme-blower Winston (sort of :rolleyes:) and shown better pics of Louis possessed as Vinz.

There's also an Egon variant (from the 'We're ready to believe you' commercial) just like Ray last year. But he also comes with the Library Ghost from the start of the first movie (when it screams and scares the guys :D).

There's also some pics of the new 12" figures... Winston is shown with GB2 suit and slime blower and other accessories.
