Awesome as always gamblor :) Looking to see what I can learn from you this time! :D

Liege : the headlights pop off REALLY easy - so it's really more effort taping up the headlights! (I only found this out AFTER my first swing at this mould :b)

For the windows I got rid of that tint and polished both sides up then applied this stuff on the inside Alclad prismatic then clear blue.

Sideswipe is headless and armless at the moment, pics later :D

Sideswipe is the same colour as my Mazda!

I have to ask gamblor, where did you get that Mazda paint, and for how much?
I'd love to paint up a figure in the same shade. Wonder what figure matches a Mazda 3 decently...

I buy a bunch of stuff at a time so it works out to be more or less the same as buying stuff from a hobby store. Actually better as you use less of it, 1 bottle covers 3-4 model car bodies. My Meister is painted in Mazda Galaxy Gray.
This paint really needs to be airbrushed, if you try brush painting it'll look terrible, streaks everywhere and drys as soon as it touches the surface.

Thanks gamblor, guess before I even think about doing a fancy custom like that I should look into airbrushes! :D

Here's my trusty Iwata HP-CS

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/6663/p2060400wo5.jpg

My old backup Aztec A7778

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/3459/p2060408op8.jpg

My compressor and moisture trap/regulator. I think the compressor is a clone of a Gunze or Iwata model. There's no way to control pressure on the compressor itself so I have to do it by adjusting the valve on the trap. I've had this for a few years now and it's still going strong.

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/7058/p2060380cg6.jpg

Some of the paints I use. Tamiya/Gunze sprays, Gunze lacquers, Alclad metallics and Zero auto paints, plus metal/resin/plastic primers.

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/4373/p2060389at7.jpg

Very important safety stuff. I ordered a bulk lot of 3M filters back when the dollar was strong.

I used this stuff link (http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=797&osCsid=963914e2cef593b0430597fea7ae550d)
I don't think I'll be using this stuff a lot, it sets in my airbrush and is a pain to clean out. The big plus though is that it's very hard and can withstand handling.
My regular clear is Finishers autoclear which I get from RainbowTen (http://www.rainbowten.co.jp/english/)

I forgot to add this pic. The primer I tinted yellow to make the red stand out more (from what I've read anyway), and the windscreen I painted the underside in that prismatic colour.

They brush ok but needs lacquer thinners to clean up. Don't breathe in vapours.

Small update. I used some self adhesive foil to back the rear lights.
Paint them up with clear paints and it'll be nice and reflective.
I'll do the same to the fronts.

Holy crap. I never thought that i would ever say "lovely", "beautiful" and "transformer" all in the same sentence but i will for this one...
great job mate.

btw, just wandering if you have any plans to top it off with some custom license plate decals??

Cheers dude. I didn't prepare any plate decals because I didn't decide on what to put there. I think I'll just leave it bare.

I have to say that this thing is an absolute delight. I couldn't help but be mesmerised by its sheer quality. Every single detail down to the last insides of the forearm plates was perfect. The head sculpt is a thousand times better. I seriously was more impressed by this than actually seeing a Grand Max last weekend.

Hands down favourite for Artistic Creation of the year for me. Absolutely stunning.
