Toyfare #140 came out on Wednesday, and we have combed through the details to provide you some of the highlights stemming from the interviews with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Lorenzo diBonaventura and Hasbro, Inc. Transformers designers Aaron Archer and Greg Lombardo.
Let's get the good stuff out of the way first. Mr. diBonaventura reveals the origin of The Fallen as one of the first 13 Transformers, which he said to consider them as "Apostles." The Fallen is the one who turns against the others and responsible for the split of the Transformers into the two factions we know and love: the Autobots and Decepticons.
Mr. diBonaventura believes that the film's timeline is set appoximately a year after Transformers takes place. This is a year less than what has been heard recently.
He also said to expect Devastator to be somewhere between 100 to 120 feet tall in the film.
The Revenge of the Fallen preview wave containing Bumblebee and Soundwave will launch a few weeks before the toyline commences on Saturday, May 30th.
This timeline is in-line with what we have heard before to bring the display out in stores.
Lead Designer Aaron Archer said that Director Michael Bay has a reason for how Soundwave is designed in the film, but cannot reveal why. However, the toy design is a combination of both the film's design and Hasbro's need for a basic toy.
Contained in the magazine are images of Leader Class Optimus Prime and Voyager Class Starscream.
Expect the first wave of the toyline to include Sideswipe and other Voyager figures. Hasbro promises that more off-screen characters will be included this time around.
Other toys we haven't heard about in the upcoming line will include Robot Heroes with better articulation, a converting Bumblebee pulse cannon, and Gravity Bots, which are geared towards younger kids. These figures will convert automatically when picked up.
Hasbro also teases that there will be a big ticket deluxe item, but that is still "top secret" for now.

If you can find the magazine, it should have more info, and some pics too.
