View Full Version : Worldwide TF Petition; MP G1 Arcee

Ok guys,

23 years is long enough, Im sick of waiting. There may be an animated version coming, but the TF universe needs G1 Arcee. Lets get the whole TF community together and petition HasTak for a MP G1 Arcee. It doesn't have to be the next MP or even the one after that, but in the next few years I think our community should see this happen.

Get the big sites involved, get every continent involved, someone at HasTak will surely hear us!

So what do you think? Are you up for it? Would you put your name down?

I'm down! I'm looking forward to the gimmicky 'accessories' she would come with.

Definitely,

not sure if arcee is iconic enough for MP status but i'd definitely push for it or a universe figure to be made!

Golden idea man. Better yet - how about a g1 headmaster MP Arcee? That would be friggin insane. Hell yeh I'd sign my name away for one of those...though personally I'm still hoping for a g1 Rodimus MP next :D

Headmaster idea rocks! I'm serious about this....if you guys really think its a good idea I will commision a site so folks around the world can vote. I'm thinking of asking the big sites to linky the MP Arcee Petition site, in exchange they can advertise as much as they want. I'd even have a separate dealer petition to so they can vote too.

I reckon you give his thread another day or two and support should flood in from the OTCA community. I think every other tf collectors forum in each of the individual countries around the world (where tf are big thing of course) they all long for the same thing - It's just that no one has ever taken the initiative or even really brought up the prospect. I didn't even think of it until you mentioned it - I'm sure there's thousands of others like me...wanting an MP arcee without even realising it :)

Seriously, my name is down.

Even if you get 100% of collectors to sign, that's supposedly only 10-20% of the market. And, you're talking about putting a female character on action figure shelves. I think it's a waste of time and effort, but wish you well.

Mate the collectors Market ain't the same as the 'action figure shelf' market. Sometimes they merge but the line is pretty clear.

Black Arachnia wasn't a waste of time, Lara Croft Sold plenty of titles to a 'boys' market, Aayla Secura does well for herself in Star Wars, Wonder Woman has a substantial following. If I were a bot then Arcee would be my hot nurse fantasy.

The Masterpiece Line is perfect for Arcee, its collector orientated. Also not every collector has every MP. If TF Fans are 10-20% of the Market then MP fans would have to be what, 2-3%? They still made Prime, Megs, Seekers, and now Grimlock! Gok has said previously that Grimlock is not that popular with the Asian fan base but the Support from Hasbro made it possible.

I hope I can prove you wrong Jaydisc! :D :)

G1 Arcee was kinda prissy and boring.
Spotlight Arcee - now thats a character/toy I could get behind! Def worth a Universe figure.
However, I do agree that there is a G1-Arcee-gap that needs to be filled.

An Arcee toy would be nice but not for an MP. I'm hanging out for maybe a Soundwave or even the rumored Rodimus. A Universe release would be good.

:)Arcee because she is one of the main Fembot characters if not the main one. I'd actually like to see an MP Arcee but wont hold my breath, maybe something in the Alternity line might be more plausible:).

canofwhoopass_87

IMO soundwave would be a relatively unexciting MP and jetfire has already seen the classics and titanium line. I like the idea of a g1 MP arcee (or even a headmaster with a mini MP daniel lol) bc it's unique, never been done before and strikes a chord with "true" G1 fans. Seems she's being rubbed off simply bc she's a fem or that people don't remember her too fondly. I've always felt cheated that she never came out as a figure in the 80's alongside springer, UM, Kup and Rodimus.

Alternatively, seeing her in the universe line in her pink and white G1 homage look would be great.

Also, if 10-20% of the tf market are deemed collectors, I think there would be more than just 2-3% of this portion who have MP's. Don't most members on this board have at least one or two (if not all)?

Count me in, Ive always felt cheated by Hasbro with regards to the issue of Arcee in G1. They may have issued bike Arcees but they are NOT G1esque Arcee..... AT ALL.

Arcee as a Universe deluxe. I'd go for that. As a masterpiece transformer.
I would prefer many other characters before Arcee was made. How about Blitzwing, Shockwave, or Motormaster. I would still get Arcee though.

I haven't bothered to do any of the online MP feedback surveys, but don't they come with an option to make requests for future MPs? Binaltechs and earlier G1 reissues came with the survey cards which allowed you to request up to 3 characters for future releases per card. I used to use that a lot and mailed them back to Takara.

I don't use the online surveys so much. The online surveys for the reissues no longer allow you to make nominations - not sure about online MP surveys.

I'd rather have a Classics-Universe/Henkei Arcee actually. As nice as MPs are, they're not as fun to play with as Classics/Henkei. Classics/Henkei are cheaper too. :)

I think this is how the Japanese remember her as well. After all, she became a secretary in Headmasters. :p

MPs are really hit and miss and no fun to play with, whereas nearly all classics/universe toys are big successes, so that's how I want an arcee. And to be honest, there's plenty of other characters I'd prefer first, especially blitzwing and wheeljack.

Can anyone else see a remolded Grimmy drinks tray with coffee mugs instead? Or a voice chip that plays "Don't ask me, I'm just a girl..."? :D Sorry, couldn't resist...:o

Snark aside, I'd really like to see more fembot figures released, and while IMO a Deluxe universe would be ideal an MP Arcee would definitely be interesting.

I dont think a Masterpiece Arcee would work

its too late for a G1 arcee, id buy a Universe 2 or Henkei toy

i personally don't think Arcee will sell well in the market apart from grown men, its hard to predict which toy is worthy of being a MP, but the perfect solution is MP- Blaster, when transformed is a perfect size for a Tape-player or even MP-Perceptor , something that doesn't look way of proportion and can be subtlely displayed....

canofwhoopass_87
15th March 2009, 06:38 PM
Hell yeh ! Who here doesnt want a towering steel female autobot with dual pistols standing atop their shelf?

As for MP Blaster - IMO this'd be just as boring as an MP soundwave. Seems like there's plenty of support for series 1 and 2 G1 MP's like blitzwing. A series 3 figure would be a great change though...GO ARCEE! or Rodimus... whichever...they'd both be awesome.

BTW -Are MP's supposed to be fun to play with? I think they're primary focus is for an adult market for display and collecting only aren't they?

I'd rather a deluxe sized toy like the coming animated version. Sorry, I can't support a mp version. The next mp should be inferno, because as history shows us, the only good mp toys are the "box" ones, IE Prime/magnus.

I'm in the boat for a Universe/classics Arcee. MP wouldn't fit her at all. I'd like to see a different autonbot like Rody or perhaps a Galvatron would be nice, cause of the whole crappyness of the G1 Galvatron figure, who looks nothing the like coartoon counter part.

Doubtful as I already consider it crap. ;) Yes, it's subjective to personal tastes. 100 american fanboys could salivate over it and rate it the best transformer ever, doesn't mean I will.

A big pink Princess Leia robot that turns into a square car? can't say that's what I'd want in an MP, a classics universe yes, but not an MP.

I have way more fun playing with my MP's than my Classics/Henkei, the Classics just don't hold me in awe as long as the MP's do and make me want to play with them. Ia gree with the rest of your points though.

Thanks for the feeback guys. :)

After taking into account what you've all said I doubt it'd be worth my time setting up the petition site.

I honestly had no idea that there is a miniscule amount of love for the character, so if otca fans are haters I think I can safely assume that the rest of the community would feel the same.

The reason I put the topic forward as an MP figure;

1. Deluxe figures lack the detail fans deserve after 23 years.

2. MP size would give her metallica paints, detailed scuplting and nifty little accesories. She would lokk good at MP Seeker Height. Scale in TF's is more of a guide than a rule for manufacturer's.

3. The Masterpiece line is designed to recreate the g1 character's in detail not afforded to the 1980's toys. So a perfect entry for a toy never made perhaps?

Thanks again for the feedback :)

I don't so much think it's a case of haters/miniscule love for the character as much as it's an acceptance that Hasbro really don't want to fill this gap - and that a Universe/Classics Arcee is a more attainable goal.

She's not _that_ momentous a character, so Hasbro don't see Arcee as a sure thing - and at the MP scale she'd have to be.
