My friend got my son a shirt with that on it:

That could actually be a possible crossover considering that in Japan, Thomas toys are manufactured by Tomy!

Second question - Would it be completely wrong to give an angry Thomas shirt to my 3yo nephew who is absoloutely nuts over Thomas and also enjoys TF's? :p

Funny that thomas is made in japan and by none othe rthen takaratommy, even though it has a UK origen and I think used to be made by matell.(correct me if I'm wrong) :)

Tomy isn't the only manufacturer of Thomas & Friends. Other manufacturers include:
+ Meccano (Railway Series)
+ ERTL
+ Merit
+ Bluebell
+ Golden Bear Toys (My First Thomas)
+ Bandai
+ Learning Curve (wooden railway) - I think this company's been acquired by ERTL but I still see some toy packaging featuring their logo, I guess it's similar to how Star Wars and Transformers toys featured the Kenner logo even after it was acquired by Hasbro.
+ TAFWR (Sights and Sounds)
+ Hit Toys - distributes Tomy's Thomas Tomica Road & Rail series and their own toys are compatible with Tomy's.
+ Hornby Railways -
+ Bachmann (USA & Canada)
+ Lego (Duplo)
