UPDATE (23 March) - full wrap-up can be found here - http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=3852

-------
Circumstances prevented me from being able to get the photos onto my server so far, and depending on how late I'm out tonight, and what access I have to internet tonight, I'll try to upload the photos and post them and the details here. Sorry about that peoples. THe big one has already been revealed by Linthart (Leader sized Jetfire), but there was at least a couple other new things, but nothing else in the main line. We saw a prototype Battler/Stomper/thingy for Devastator (it's behind Optimus in one of Linthart's photos), plus, the Bumble Spud, Mr Potatoe Head.

Their display for Transformers was mostly Movie stuff, and a very small selection at that. THeir Animated, Universe and Crossover TFs were all toys that have already been release, or are already known, because they soon will be released.

Heaps of licensed merchandise was there as well.

Oh, and Season 3 of Animated will not be screening here until Spring-ish (after the movie season).

Red Rooster Toys in June-July.
Preview Figures 15th May.
Universe stops in May for the Movie toys.
Mighty Muggs will have Movie characters, which could be why the 3rd wave looked cancelled - those Gen1 figures might be pushed back until after the movie.

Need more info on the rc car and whatever that thing next to the boxed bumblebee head is.

I really hope that prototype is nowhere representable of the final figure. Ewwww. Killer laughing clown of creepy wallet doom.

The Power Bots Devastator has the most boring paint job ever.

Kyle:
Both Devestator toys were unpainted prototypes.

MV75:
Next to the Bumblebee helmet was an arm 'blaster'. It has light & sound gimmicks.
The RC car had no bells or whistles that I can recall.

So the $150 version, the only difference between it and release is the paintjob? Man it's horrible for such a price.

So the blaster doesn't shoot nerf balls?

And what about the logo on the rc car? Looks like a button, and headlights light up?

I'm sure paint will do wonders for Devestator.
BTW, its not easy to see, but Devestator was being held up with fishing wire.
Hopefully, stability is only an issue in the prototype, as it's quite a heavy toy.
The 'mouth' opening gimmick is kinda cool though.

The blaster doesn't shoot anything.

I was quite impressed with leader Optimus Prime. I didn't get to transform it, but it looked quite intricate.

The gravity bots are quite fun, and the battle chargers are nice for what they are (improved bumper battlers).

Ah well, sounds like a well worn prototype then. I think a real production one should have been used, but I can also wait to finally decide by waiting to see the final toy.

Hopefully they'll also make a nerf blaster. :) Actually, they should make a nerf blaster, as those are much more fun than a light/sound gun.

Gravity bot? What?

Gravity Bots are for much younger kids. Auto-transform with gravity.

They have already compromised much by not giving the individual parts robot modes so there is nothing holding them back from getting the final release right as a good toy.

Exactly.

The mouth looks like that there is just a part missing from it, and the way the green leg looks in that photo looks very "dickedly" attached. Looks kinda "off".

And with the gun, I'm not entirely against light/sound guns, but to me, ever since I was a kid and until now, they've never been loud enough for me. I want something that sounds like a megaphone. Not something you have to pause and hold up to hear it. One reason I've never been a big fan of lights, (and especially) sound.

Gravity bots do sound interesting, hopefully they'll be more of what I was expecting from activators, then again probably not.

Also I don't mind the look of that rpms set. Those are starting to grow on me, I might collect those as opposed to the other toys.

I can't see what people are disappointed in with Devestator. He's huge, and with movie Legends scale figures will make an awesome display. The price, well its big, and you're only going to be able to buy one unless your're a misb completist, but I really can't wait.

So is that the 2ft tall devastator?

I would love to say im not going to buy it but i am impulsive and will most likely get it anyway. The Bumblebee helmet doesn't look to bad, and will look good next to my Prime helmet

It doesn't look 2 feet tall to me. I think that was just a rumour some UK dude said.

i noticed some deluxes are in bot mode but others are in alt mode, there are reason for this?

griffin

The robot mode deluxes are the preview figures, that will be released 2 weeks before the main assortment. All other figures are generally released in alt-mode, except the legends and basics (to fill out the packaging more to look like better value) and the Leader size (to make the 'larger' figures look more imposing in the packaging). The bits in brackets are the actual words from the Hasbro people at the Fair.
