I know this has been discussed numerous times.

Here is a mixture that does not require you to emerse the figure/part in a liquid.

Its a Gel mixture (http://retr0bright.wikispaces.com/Retr0Bright+Gel)

I'm thinking of actually tryng this on some figures that are long ago yellowed, and don't mind being tested on :D

I will go out and buy the stuff needed tomorrow and try it out on friday.
Once I've tried it out, I'll post some pictures of it.

Anyone else game to try it?

I think it will only work best on white parts after reading more. Still wi ll try it on a figure/part I'm not too worried about anyway.

If you haven't read this thread, you might find it interesting: http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=2998

It involved the board's experiments with peroxide (without the gum, glycerine or laundry powder.)

True I did read that, was quite interesting.
I found this one and thought I should try it.

Didn't get the chance to this weekend, things came up.
Hopefully I will be able to by the collectors fair.

It's not yellowing, but Classics Megatron's fluro orange shoulders have already turned peach. Damn.

Wouldn't that actually improve the look of Classics Megatron? :p :p

Prevention is gooder than cure though. bruticus started a discussion about window tinting in liegeprime's new collection room thread (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=4094). I'm not prepared to go down that path myself, but what I've done instead was install venetian blinds (I have them in all the rooms in my house). The problem is that there are very small gaps (designed for the blinds' control cords to thread through) which light still gets through, so I've added Transformers "drapes" over the blinds to shield those gaps. My blinds have 3 columns of these gaps and so far I have two "drapes" to cover them - a War Within Dinobots wall-hanging and a Transformers Galaxy Force flag.

My local Jayjays has tentatively promised me their current wall-hanging window display which I intend to use to drape over the middle column. The War Within wall hanging isn't long enough to cover the whole length of the window so I've stuck some bits of cardboard from TF packaging to cover those gaps. I also have bits of cardboard and paper stuck along the middle of the window to help cover the centre column until I get the dispaly from Jayjays.

Anyway, here are pics:
