If you are a Star Wars fan can you claim a religius holiday based on religious believes?

Probably, but it's not a public holiday in this country. Saturday was the 12th day of Ridvan (Baha'i) and this coming Saturday is Visakha Puja (Buddhism).

But personally as a member of the Jedi religion I would like to say to everyone, may the Force be with you! :)

Are you officially a member or one of those 'I believe in my own way' types? :p

Well in the last two national censuses I put "Jedi" down as my religion. My Star Wars fandom just isn't what it used to be so I'm thinking about putting down "Transformers" in the next national census. It pretty much like a religion for me anyway considering that I virtually live and breathe TFs. :)

You should say you are a follower of the Covenant of Primus

Convenant of Primus?! Those heathens! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb_qHP7VaZE) :p ;)

Advisory: Link contains socio-political satire and strong language.

I think you should write "Transformerism" or "Transformerology" (the latter sounds more "academic", hehe).

Or maybe call yourself a "Transformerian".

:D

Putting Transformers in sounds too 'collector' best to put in something like 'Followers of Primus' so that it blends in with the fictional religion. It also sounds latin enough to be taken seriously :)

We celebrated in our staffroom today with snail buns (reference to Princess Leia's hair). :D

Stormtroopers may be hot... but it sure hurts when they knee you in the janglies!!

kup: not all Star Wars fans are necessarily followers of the Jedi faith. And you can celebrate any day as a religious holiday, but the Australian government doesn't recognise all religious occasions as public holiday. e.g. events like Ramadan, Buddhist New Year, Baha'i New Year etc. aren't public holidays in Australia. Easter isn't a public holiday in Japan. etc. -- but just because it's not a public holiday doesn't mean you can't observe it yourself. :)

Heretic. Oh, I mean, fair enough. :p ;)

There's another Star Wars Day coming up on the 25th of this month which will be the 33rd anniversary of the release of Star Wars Episode IV. :D

Live long and prosper.

Sorry for this half-backside attempt at merging three things together But... :(:o

"Live long and prosper" and "May the force be with you" ...
as "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" even if anyone dose (or dose not) like both for there own reasons :o:o:D:p
