This would likely be a Region 1 DVD so you might have trouble playing it in Australia. You might be better off getting the Madman Complete G1 collection instead.
Also, there seems to be another Complete G1 collection coming on Blu-Ray; Flint Dille mentioned recently completing a special feature for it at the G1 Writers Panel at BotCon (but he might have been referring to this collection just on Blu-Ray).

May have trouble, unless you have a dvd player that can play all reagions. Most you will find do, and if not, have the ability to, you just need to unlock in on your dvd player. There is a way of doing it.
Mine does, and its just a cheap ass Aldis one.

Yeah Region free dvd players are easy to aquire, i just went to JB hi fi one day and asked if they had any, and they sold me one that came with a card that told me how to unlock its region restrictions.
As for the Matrix set itself, I plan to buy it at it's debut release when I'm at Comic Con :D

It's very rare to find a DVD player that isn't multiregion, or at the very least easily hackable (with button presses, even my nana can do it). Most simply are off the shelf.
Except LG and Sony in my experiences.
