As a coin collector, this is a novelty, an expensive novelty!!!
Originally i thought id just get optimus, but i thought "Your greatness, this is a unique Australian opportunity, embrace it!" so i bought both, secure in the knowledge that i can resell them for thrice their value.

At Perth mint, its not like Canberra, i walked in, went straight to gift shop, asked the lad there about them, they had none on display.

To my surprise, the table behind the lad, had some boxes, and inside these boxes were the TF coins, just on the floor, which i found odd. Young Toby opened 1 up for me, to inspect. They are pretty fine for special coins, a pity that they arn't Australian.

Got the cube from Red Rooster. I also bought a new telephonic communications device

Yesterday from JB Hi-Fi I bought the 3-set Transformers Japanese series (Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory). $80 for all 3 sets. i saw one set for sale by itself for $55-60 so i think it was a good price.
Watched only 3 episodes so far and they ain't bad. I don't mind the 'so bad it's good' English dub, and it certainly makes it easier for the kids to watch.
My acquisitions through proxy: one of my sons received a gift card for his birthday so we hit Myer today. He got ROTF Legends Optimus and Springer and a Voyager Dropshot.

You should send a feedback email to MAdman so they better correct their error. Im guessing they just lumped "Transformers" as a whole and not to this specific era of the franchise, which is indeed a blatant error and shows poor knowledge of their merchandising/marketing area ;). But hey it came cheaper than the 3 series set by a third of the price so Im really happy with it. now I get to see some episodes I missed out coz even though it was shown in Philippines til the end til BM as well some of the filler issues at times got completely cut off.

Finally got Jetfire at Target. Though there really was no need for me to go that early coz no one was actually in the TF section! Picked up Voyager Mixmaster whilst I was there and stopped by Jay Jay's which had 20% off the whole store (only for today and only at Castle Hill) and picked up a TF shirt for $16.

Was tempted to get prime/crumplezone and animated DVD AND the new wave of voyagers at Kmart, but really gotta start saving hehe

After opening Sunstreaker which I payed $50 for, his stupid bloody head was placed in the in-correct position from manufacturers! e.g the head rotates all the way but the chest was not all the way with it, so in other words if I had forced the chest plate to look right then the head would have broken of! I was smart and unscrewed it to fix this issue, it's really pathetic for takara to have such bad quality control!!!!! GRRRRR.......

Has anyone had the same issue, also I have a transformer curse, every freaking time I get a transformer, it has quality control issues!!!!

Ben, this is a very common flaw. I believe all Henkei/Universe Sunstreakers have this issue.

It's not just toy sale parents seem to love using there kids a human shields, I thought small children especially your own was meant to be preciouse or something. Oh well... :p

Scalpel (long antenna) from Kmart. Legends Wave 3 Fallen, Grindor and Red Ironhide from Toyworld.

Scalpel is not as bad a toy as I expected from people's comments. Even with the long antenna I had no problem transforming the toy. I think it could be frustrating at first because the toy was actually not in proper bot mode in package. Many parts were twisted 180 degrees, and gave the illusion that the toy was assembled wrong in factory. So you'd have to look at the the very 1st pic in the instructions carefully, twisting and unfolding the parts, before you actually follow the steps 1, 2, 3 etc in the instructions.

Sadly no. They took the cheaper option despite Grindor being a more advanced helicopter than Blackout in the movie. As far as I'm concerned he is definitely the most attractive version of this mould though - the choice of colours and extra paint detailing really makes it a fantastic looking toy. I think he's great!

The blue plastic used and the silver paint are different. TF2 one is also Peter Cullen's voice but with different phrases.

Indeed, although it's not immedietely obvious as Grindor's head has very different/more varied paint apps.

Hmm the paint scheme for Grindor looks nice in your pics Dealer. The paint apps in bot mode highlights the robot really well.

I'm still hesitant on getting a third redeco of this mold mainly to the malfunctioning broken auto-morph. Is it still the case with Grindor or for those that have him... Whirl.

Hmm the paint scheme for Grindor looks nice in your pics Dealer. The paint apps in bot mode highlights the robot really well.

I'm still hesitant on getting a third redeco of this mold mainly to the malfunctioning broken auto-morph. Is it still the case with Grindor or for those that have him... Whirl.

The automorph feature has not been fixed with Grindor - you still have to pull the leg assembly back (when bringing it down) at just the right angle if you want to see the cockpit rotate around to form the robot chest/head. Overall the build quality of my Grindor is actually worse than my 2007 movie Blackout. :( His plastic somehow seems more brittle and his right arm is incredibly loose at the shoulder (pops off every 2 seconds).

Like movie Starscream I think this toy also really needed a new mould for ROTF to fix the issues it has. Problems aside I really do enjoy the look of both robot and alt modes and the bulk of the transformation is quite fun despite its simplicity in design. He's not for everyone but if you're like me and want to complete the movie cast with a great looking toy the good makes up for the bad.

Badass, Cybertronian Tank mode with awesome gimmicks that don't detract from the toy at all but only enhance playability. Mean bot mode. I'm gunna look out for more non-beast Beast Machines in the future...

Megatron, as Kyle says, has a good tank mode. The robot mode is passable. It's better than the previous Legends Megatron. The arms fuse to form a turret which can move. At legends size, that's impressive.

Sideswipe is a pretty good legends toy with two good modes, although he's a little overshadowed by the deluxe being a good figure.

To be honest, I reckon they're both worth $7. The legends from this film are (so far) of a higher standard than the legends of the last film.
