ROTF Deluxe: Cannon Bumblebee. I have to say he is easily my favourite of the deluxe movie Bee's. His arms are a huge improvement and the movie accurate head is fantastic. If I had to fault him I'd say they should have used gunmetal grey instead of what looks like a greeny 'The Fallen' colour on the mechanical parts and the gimmick should have been dropped to allow the chest to segment for movie accuracy. Still, for me he's the movie Bee of choice to display in robot mode with the rest of the gang. :)

At these prices, I figured I'd consider getting cast. Like Jetfire, I plan to have a first-hand play with all of these before opening my own and committing to keeping them. Surprisingly, I'm most intrigued about The Fallen. I think his colors look great and of course, he is the title character.

I only planned on getting BB, but my son loves it, and he's quickly shying away from BB and becoming a Prime man, so I got him a Prime, and who doesn't love shiny Corvettes? :D

And last but not least, while doing a friend a favor and laybying a Lego Death Star, I couldn't resist, and laybied one myself. Pardon the stock photo. I'll post an original in December! :D

Where did you find Sideways and Sideswipe?

I actually got them last week during K-mart's 20% off sales - I've noticed these 2 are the hardest to find (I haven't seen them at any of the current sales although there was a lone Sideways at K-mart Casula this morning). So I wasn't going to take a risk and wait for the sales so I grabbed them there and then.

What a terrible time to go shopping... but I guess the price was right at $88 for BB and 18.95 for Mudflap.

Passed on Ravage as I don't collect many from the 'bad' side...but he is a pretty cool looking figure!

OMG! Lucky you! I didn't know Target price matched sale items?! Is that all Target stores or you just got lucky at Liverpool?

Actually I went in not really expecting them to price match but surprisingly they did after I showed them the catalogue. It was hassle free too, just grabbed it, showed the store manager who approved it, then told the checkout operator and walked out. I wish all price matches were this easy, I'd do them more often.

Nah, it's definitely Movie Swerve. I just bought ROTF Leader Class Jetfire, ROTF Ravage (I wasn't going to buy him but he was so cool in the movie and for sub $20 it was hard to resist) and ROTF Soundwave. Jetfire is a truly stunning toy!!

Got G1 Bumblejumper/Bumper today in a nice custom card:

Unfortunately the figure is far from being in good codition, all his metal parts are rusted and fixed in place (arm/wheel pin) and the painted bits such as the back bumper are worn badly. Looks like a kid had a lot of fun in the bathtub with this toy - I am in partial refund talks with the seller as he neglected to mention these 'small' details :mad:

He is going to be a bit of a restoration job but once I finalize issues with the seller, I will get cracking and I am confident of being able to bring him back to a respectable state.

Stratosphere isn't out here yet, but have been found in America, because it is in the next Voyager assortment (after Megatron/Mixmaster/Fallen/Ratchet). So should be out soon.
As for the Deluxe waves - all this early release stuff is from all over the place, so give it a few weeks for it to all settle down and we see stores restocking after the July sales with new stuff.

When I watched the movie, I was thinking the same thing - the score doesn't seem as good as the first. When I got the CD and listened to it, it was exactly that - not as good as the first. And some of it sounded like music from Gladiator and Star Wars Ep1 (and another movie I can't remember the name of).
And the Soundtrack only had one song on it that was worth listening to a second time (the first track), as opposed to 5 tracks on the first Soundtrack I thought were okay.

I saw it today at Big W Chullora. It is indeed very good value for money, almost like a Botcon set in a beautifully presented box. If you are interested in Cybertron/Super link toys it is recommended.

Even if the full vocal versions eventually get released through US Hasbro (and here), I figure it is best to grab these now in case they don't get a full-vocal release. It just leaves me with Roadbuster Ultra Magnus to complete all the Animated Toys so far released.

The fun of Transformers toys is to treat them like puzzles that need to be solved. If you always follow instructions, you don't get the same sense of accomplishment of doing something on your own, without any help from anyone or anything. And like watching a movie, you only really get one chance at surprising yourself, so don't spoil it if you have the patience.

The procedure I use on any figure that isn't too fragile to risk it - is to start off with just the toy to see if I can get it into its other mode, and if not, then I look at the packaging photos first... and then as a last resort, I look at the instructions. And most times I check the instructions afterwards anyway to see if I missed any gimmicks or see if bits aren't where they should be.

In the case of Jetfire, I got most of it done, but still had to refer to the packaging pics for the placement of the arm joints (to make the jet nose sections line up), and I had to look on the instructions for the strap bit (which someone else here posted a clearer description than the instructions had).

I used the instructions (which weren't very helpful) and it took me 46 minutes to transform Jetfire (although I was interrupted a few times by Yukikaze :p)! Just so fiddly -- and figuring out what to do with those straps took a while too (because the instructions are totally useless in that department).

I used the instructions (which weren't very helpful) and it took me 46 minutes to transform Jetfire (although I was interrupted a few times by Yukikaze :p)! Just so fiddly -- and figuring out what to do with those straps took a while too (because the instructions are totally useless in that department).

Thanks Dre!:D found it kmart at eastgardens near work bought wityh snakeeyes and storm shadow, I was going to get a goktimusprime ;) at kmart blacktown but it was too expensive hehehe *bumped into gok*. its good you got the fallen, got my self two more so i got three of the fallens now, i kinda want to have 'the primes' the same as the movie cos they all look like the fallen so I need to get at least 1 more. how you find the figure like.some people would disagree but for some reason i really do like the fallen? weird huh? but anyways enjoy!

PS: Oh yeah btw have you seen the movie yet?

Should be fairly close. The Japanese magazines used to promote Alternities as BTs in a new Movie Deluxe size/scale, and had shots of Alternities Convoy standing next to Movie Deluxe Bumblebee.

I like the aesthetics of the bot mode, couldn't care for the alt mode, its just too alien looking. He looks like an Egyptian themed robot - enter the Mummy hehehe. NOpe havent seen the movie yet :D. Im planning it by next week as I have 3 movies planned on seeing.

They are pretty cool and its also an officially licensed lamborghini toy. My original review is in this thread post#65 (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=2726&page=3). they have great potential for customs and they are so cheap that i tend to buy doubles.
