Four of the national store chains in Australia have their Annual July Toy sales on this month, and three are already underway.

This posting shows which stores have the best sale prices, and what each store has on sale.

If you have these store chains accessable to you, try to get a copy of each one's catalogue, and if you find something at only one store which isn't the cheapest store, see what their price-matching policy is (each store chain is different, and some stores within a chain can be different, or just have different policies at different times of the year). And don't be afraid to ask at the other stores not having sales, as David Jones and Toys R Us have specific price-matching policies - you just have to find out the requirements (TRU usually match to an advertised/catalogue price, while DJs will ring a nearby store and only pricematch if it is in stock over there).

The cheapest prices for MOVIE FIGURES, by size class.

Updated the table and posting.
(I totally missed Kmart having the cheaper Ultimate price... Well, BigW are definitely cheaper now.)

K-Mart have "Too hot to layby" stickers on the $19 RotF deluxes. I don't know if this is only my local store (Maroochydore, Qld) or everywhere, but thought I'd warn everyone so they don't turn up to K-Mart expecting to throw a heap of deluxes on layby and get a rdue shock.

I noticed at Kmart that a lot of the TF's are too hot to layby, which means you have to buy it there and then or miss out. I just checked the online catalogue and they include Ultimate BB, Deluxes, Scouts, Robot Heroes, Animated Roll Out Optimus and Legends.

Yep, them too. Pretty much all TF's except the BB Helmet and Arm Cannon i think. Pretty dumb move on Kmarts half IMO.

Interesting that it includes all those figures, because the only shelves the stickers were on were the Deluxe shelves. Stoopid K-Mart.

I disagree there. I think they were prudent to do so. Given last time there was barely anything on the shelves at all, K-Mart is preferring to keep the actual figures on the shelves as opposed to layby b/c there's a huge risk of people backing out of layby which did happen towards the end of 2007 when people started notice 1st waves appearing out of nowhere again.

it makes sense that big ticket/special items like the Leaders, Arm Blaster and Utlimate BB are able to be lay-byed though as thsoe are the thigns people would want to keep for a big present as opposed to standard figures like Scouts, Deluxes and Voyagers which should move reasonably well off the shelf. All I remember last time was that the shelves started to be only left with FABs. The Scouts were not part of the main line till much later on in hhe piece after Target already had had them. This time we've got Scouts too at all the major retaiilers. That gives a lot of price points and choice and it only makes business sense to have those on shelf when u know they are going to move much faster than many other toylines.

I was able to layby some Deluxes at Kmart Blacktown last weekend
