Officially licensed by Hasbro, Nike are going to release a set of three, limited edition pairs of shoes, coloured to reflect 3 classic Transformers characters.
Bumblebee (Zoom FP)

Soundwave (Zoom Sharkalaid)

Megatron (Zoom Flight Club)

Each pair even comes in a box that pays homage to the classic Transformers toy boxes of the 80s.
The Nike Basketball x Transformers II Three-Pack is expected in very select Asia Nike Basketball retailers and very select Nike Basketball retailers such as House of Hoops very soon.
No prices or quantities mentioned, but expect 'alot' and 'very few', respectively.

betcha dirge would know:D:p;). Like the Bumblebee one. I wish they wouldve done a better pattern for Soundwave, since his color blue is more appealing but the pattern just didnt do for me.

I've got a pair of the Zoom Flight Club (Megatron), they're comfortable, and great for guards (it's a basketball position), but I can't say I like the look of the Megatron or Soundwave kicks, from a Sneaker POV, though I like Soundwave's from TF POV. Bumblebee works on both counts, although I've never worn the Fun Police so I'm not sure about comfort.
George, we rarely get HOH Exclusives. Nike did a green & gold Hyperdunk for the Olympics last year, complete with the Australian flag on the tongue, and then proceeded to sell them only at HOH (LA, Chicago, New York). If we're lucky we might see these at the Footlockers in Swanston Street and Pitt St (the big one), but I would not expect to see them here.

www.ebay.com is your best bet for HOH exclusives. After a few months, some will show up on www.flightclubny.com.

hey guys the shoes will be released TOMORROW!
so who's lining up??? :)

"UPDATE - These two shoes will now release at the three stores listed above this Thursday July 9 at 6pm. They will sell out fast so line up early so you don't miss out!
Also, due to the very limited nature of these shoes and the high demand, there is a limit of one of each style per customer, and you will have to be in line to have a chance to nab a pair - there are no holds and no lay-bys."
edit, just got info from the gearge street store that they will be $170 per pair.
apparently the George street store only has one pair in each size and smallest size is 9! no doubt some worker there is a size 8 and has nabbed them already.
hopefully the melbourne and perth stores have more variety in sizes.
i was going to make a trip from canberra from these but the chances of me missing out are too great to make it worthwhile.

I spoke to one of the guys at George Street and he confirmed the ridiculously small delivery run. It's typical of this sort of limited release sneaker, to be honest.
A 6pm release sucks, mind you. Often the Nike releases are on opening on Saturday mornings - it's not easy lining up for a 6pm thursday release if you have... a life :(
I'm not planning on grabbing either pair anyway (even though the Bumblebee Zoom Fun Police looks nice), but given the hassle of getting them, I can't say I'd be bothered if I did want them.

To be fair, the manager there (who collects sneakers) is a size 11. So I'd say that's on the level :)
They usually get more size 10 & 11 than anything else, and often the very small sizes (8, 7.5) and very large sizes (13) are under represented. They rarely get 12.5 or 14+ in these releases at all. Makes sense mind you - sz 10 is the most common men's size in Nike.

i think i'll save my pennies for the Jordan 1 Defining moments pack next week.

Heh I'm sort of tempted by that, mainly for the Boston pair - I have the black/red lows and I'm happy enough with that.
I'm saving my pennies for the Jordan IIIs next month!
darockk, I assume you're a size 8? Do you normally have trouble getting sz8 in Canberra?

nope, im normally able to find size 8 in Nike's, jordans and any other footlocker brands no problems. Occasionally they will be out of size 8 though, i had always assumed it was becasue it was a more common size and sold out first lol i thought the larger sizes were available coz no one wanted them that big but i guess its possible they plan to have so many in stock if they are a common size? just surprised that they couldnt even get ONE size 8 for the transformers shoes.
id hate to be someone who lines up early wanting that size

Nah, 10 & 11 are generally popular because they're the "average" size (I'm 10.5 myself), but the larger sizes (12+) are fairly popular in the basketball lines because basketball tends to more popular with taller people (:

bugger, I only need a mens' size 6/7 - hoping no guy's foot is that small, but I doubt there is even that size right? No chance the factory stores in Smith Street has them? So they are not released in all Nike stores?
dirge
13th July 2009, 12:14 PM
If they _do_ hit outlets, Mel, they'd most likely hit outlets in the USA. On the odd occasions that rarer stuff hits Nike outlets in Australia, they're often snapped up by staff and never hit the sales floor ):
eBay really would be your most realistic option, I'm afraid.
Nike men's sizes start at 7.5, Mel - that'd be the smallest size you'd find (6, 6.5 & 7 are all kids' sizes, and they wouldn't have been produced in kids' sizes).
