Does anyone know if there's ever been a map of Cybertron anywhere? I'm trying to think it might be in one of the old Marvel UK comics but I'm not sure where.

There's one that was made by RISK but I have no idea how accurate it is. If there isn't one, can we come up with enough information to draw one up? Can anyone help? TIA. :)

EDIT:

There's supposed to be one in the Ultimate Guide. Can someone with a copy provide a hi-res scan of the pages for me? TIA again.

If the mods feel like I'm advertising another website they can feel free to delete this post.

IIRC there is a link to a map on seibertron.com in their roleplaying forum.

Of course given all the different versions of Cybertron the map in the Ultimate Guide really just applies to the Cybertron of the Ultimate Guide Universe. But it's not bad. I haven't seen Seibertron's one. A well researched Cybertron Atlas would be good including references to all the places and locales shown or named in the various comics, cartoons, and tech specs. Hmm I'm tempted to start one.

Not HMW the RPG. Dark Legacy or something like that

Each page of the book is wider than the actual scanner! If you can wait up a bit more I will see if I can make a few small scans and join them together.

The information below is mostly taken from the Marvel comics, UK in particular. Cartoon only fans may not fully understand the meaning of the areas highlighted, please ask and I am sure the comic fans will be happy to enlighten you.

Also, check out this site

Turns out someone already has pulled together a list of locations from the comics, cartoon and tech specs. :)

Thanks heaps, Kup.

When are they going to release the updated version of that book? That's what I've been hanging ot for. Either that or grab a cheap one. I might have to give in and grab one anyway...

Oh and that is an -awesome- site, Paul. Bookmarked! I was going to try and do that but hell the work would've been immense.

Wow, i'd only ever seen the Cybertron series map.

I could kill to see one modelled off of the G1 cartoon.
I know that looks a bit like it but i remember it grey and from the close ups it looked different.

Yeah the cartoon one had the massive chunk of planet missing from it.

We can assume there's no 'Down Under' on Cybertron.

There is already an updated version which briefly includes a bit on the IDW comics as well as Classics, Alts and BT toys.

It was released last year but its not hard cover like the original

I've seen that one. That's the one I've been tempted to get but with the success of the movie, I know another is bound to be around the corner so I just don't know if it's worth getting when in less than 12 months time I'm going to need to get another. :(

Plus, I'm still waiting on a better Movie guidebook than that lame one they published that u see at K-Mart and Target.

Thanks heaps again, Kup. Great scans.

Yes there is. Tyrest is in about the same geographical area as Australia would be. Check the map. That's probably where Outback is from :p

Strange how the Autobot capital, Iacon is in the North Pole and the Decepticon capital, Kaon is in the South Pole.

Does anyone know if there are days and nights on Cybertron? The lighting has changed from time to time but never has it really been made clear whether there are days and nights.

That's a great question. My feeling is yes but I can't think of anything in particular that proves this. Given that no Transformers have been shown to be freaking out when it got dark on Earth I think they know of the concept of day and night. For most of the Marvel Comics Cybertron didn't orbit a star so they wouldn't have days and nights. Cybertron's often shown with a dark night sky which maybe could be explained by a similar atmosphere to Earth (?) except that humans are able to wonder around and breath normally on the planet.

They have nights and day in Cybertron, thats how they based their computation for their time measurements,1 solar cycle - 1 day, but since the planet is massive and in a degraded orbit , the days and nights are much longer, hence the translation to earth hours for their hours is much more - don't have my vol#8 of DW MTMTE for G1 TFs here but its in there for those who have the comics - time measurement and earth equivalents. :D

Hrm... are you sure? I've got my MTME #8 in front of me and I only find reference to

1 breem = 8.3 Earth minutes = 1000 Astroseconds
1 vorn = 83 Earth years

In War Within #1, the story begins with daylight as we look onto Iacon. In hte Dark Ages, there appears to be sunlight b/c the sky is heavily orange when Springer and co. engage the Ultracons. But never really do we have an explicit reference to day and night on Cybertron.
