Phew that's a lot of photos! If you can't tell, i'm loving this toy so far and could safely say my conclusion would be along the lines of "Buy Now!"

Great figure indeed. Love those shoulder armour and the way the legs convert. The two swords are a nice touch too. I can't say I'm a big fan of that squeeze conversion technique in these Alternities though. Excellent pics!

One unfortunate thing, and I didn't even notice it until Stompy told me are the dents in the rear wheel wells. Mine are worse than yours. Stompy says he noticed them in the packaging.

With Convoy, when you do the pinch-and-squeeze (tm), if nothing is obstructing anything, the head and bonnet flip up, the chassis slides forward and touches in the front, the arms come out an entire 90°, and the back corner of the front chassis also clips into place. It's perfect.

With Megs, I find firstly that the arms are not designed to swing out 90°, more like 45°, but even then, the black part of his shoulders underneath the bonnet really butt up again the sides of the front end, unable to pop out underneath without doing a bit of a twist and stretch.

Anyone know the secret to avoid this?

Another thing:

There's another difference that disappoints me. On both, you slide the car seat on the forearm to be aligned with the rest of the arm. On Convoy, each position has a gratifying click. There is no confirmation with Megatron and they sometimes slide out of position.

I've had a look at mine and the "dent" you spotted I think is where the part connects to the moulding runner. So how bad that area looks depends on how careful the factory worker was in cutting that part off.
Mine is ok but still noticable.

+1! Although i really like both modes of this figure, I nearly broke it when attempting to transform it due to the shoulder issue. Unfortunately, I don't think it can be avoided.

Okay...so my Alternity Megatron just arrived...and his awesome...

The Samurai armor and swords are fantastic...and while I still
find the concept of Megatron being a car strange...this toy
is first class.

I'll have to track down Convoy next...may-be in black...
