If someone offer you money to buy off all your transformers and its pretty reasonable or probably more than it sworth would you sell them your tf collection?

No.
They could make an offer on the tangibles, but not on the years of intangible effort put into the collection. No-one would pay that premium. :p

to answer you question Deceptic_Optics...:)
NO...
"Maybe, yes it was a absolute last resort and "if" i considered them to be worth selling."
and I know some of you are going to say i am nuts for saying this:
But, I am also leaning towards "NO" on the million dollars offer thing.:D
( as stated before, it kind of depends on the situation at the time )..
as, it may seem to be a lot of money "but" if it isn't used wisely it can go very quickly and may cause more problems as well.:)

what if i put an ultimatum, right now and i say il give you a million bucks right now for your collection would you say yes or no? 'maybe' or 'it depends' as an answer is not acceptable its either you do or you dont?

For a million I would due to longer term gains (including my collection back).
It would allow me to own a property without the pain of a mortgage and therefore money that once went into rent can go straight into Transformers and that's how I get my collection back.
If I may ask, how did this question come along?

somebody offered me 2 grand for my collection and i said no... lol i just thought id put the 1 million to make it interesting cos if i say two grand people would say no to it because of sentimental reason or the money is not enough... etc. so its more intersting how would people react to 1 million thats all

2 grand is a certain NO. I wouldn't even let it go for $20,000.

It would have to be one of those situations where I have to sell them.
If today someone offered me money for them I'd say no
But if I needed the money for some reason, then yeah I'd go find that guy who is offering me $1mil for them

I'd do horrible disgusting things for $1 million, including selling my TF's.
Would I sell for an amount just above their value? Nope.
Would I sell in a time of financial crisis? Yeah, but only if reverting to the uni student lifestyle of noodles, cold showers and candle light doesn't work out. :)

Haha I'm the same, I will eat 2 min noodles every night before I sell my figures :p
I remember saying that if my favourite band every reformed and played at Wacken in Germany, I would sell my collection to go over there and see them. Sad thing is, it happened and I didn't follow through with it, I just couldn't. Good because they actually came out here last year anyway and even got to meet them :D:D:D:D:D

The "would you do it for $1 million" is a silly question. That's like saying, "would you eat your own crap for $1 million?" :p But otherwise I agree w/ what Sofaman said. :)

If someone came with the right offer I would sell my entire MIB collection without a second of hesitation. Though I would just put it straight back into AFAs, the MIBs have sadly become an unnecessary surplus.

Yes (subject to price), much as I like my TFs they're just toys.
what if they offer a million bucks?
Yes for sure. Losing a few of them would hurt but I can pick most if not all of them up again and it'd mean really early retirement. The only ones I'm really attached to are Predaking and BW dragon Megatron, which aren't that hard to find or expensive in light of a million bucks. I'd sooner have a few investment properties and be able to retire before I'm 30 than my fairly minor collection.

My sister just the other day said to me I should "sell them on ebay you'd make a fortune".
For $1 million? Yes I would sell them.
$1 million would get me closer to my current life goals than 1000 Transformer toys ever will. It would be hard to let my earliest toys go but (unfortunately) I don't have the sentimental attachment to the recent stuff by sheer of bulk of purchases.

Of course I would let mine go for a million. But I only have a small collection so it'd work out at about $14k per figure. Bit of a no brainer, even taking into account sentimentality. and I'd probably buy them all back anyways.
How about if you were showing your collection to a rich person and they began offering (say) more than triple market value for particular individual figures? How many do you think you'd let go?
I think there are quite a few I would probably give up.
Maybe use the money to buy some others I wanted more...

For a million AUD?? yes
For triple the market price? yes
For less than triple the market price? definitely no...
too many hours scouring ebay, ninja bidding in the last 10 seconds at 3 in the morning, paying all the postage, putting up with crappy ebay sellers, filing claims with paypal, putting up with all the BS from wheeljackslab....hell no... i aint never doing that again. My time and health is worth a lot lot more nowadays than double of my collection...
Plus some of the stuff i have just arent even available for purchase again even if i had more than double the cash to pay for it...

Yeah, like this, for me it's simple economics. I don't want to give up the toys, so whatever I would net would be used to replace said toys, plus the expense of doing so. So, about 3x sounds right. ;)

Obviously any sensible human being would if it meant they could all be bought back while still maintaining a decent profit.
The infinitely more interesting question is: Would you sell your Transformers collection for 1 million dollars with the previso that you can't buy them back?

What he said.
Not sure what price I would ask for (I think almost anyone would sell for $1milllion), but it would have to be a lot to cover the effort.
Some of the G1 toys include Bumblejumper, 2 mint Swoops, 2 Fort Max (one with box), MIB Prime etc...
As well as the toys, I have a large collection of original G1 tech specs, instructions, robot points, flyers, posters, stickers, cards, comics (including the US and UK #1's), backing cards, board games, puzzles, the C64 game, the Japanese NES game, read along audio tape, a read along record, original 1986 movie soundtrack CD, books, pens, watch, an animation cel of Megatron(original, not a Rhino thing), Optimus AM radio, original VHS tapes and more.
If someone offered me a worthwhile amount to buy all of this, my next problem would be to find someone else selling a similar collection for less :D

Ahaha - the simultaneous gift wrapped in a curse! :p
"Take this doll, but beware; it carries a terrible curse."
"Ooo, that's bad."
"But it comes with a free serving of frozen yoghurt!"
"That's good!"
"The frozen yoghurt is also cursed."
"That's bad."
"But it comes with your choice of toppings!"
"That's good!"
"The toppings contain potassium benzoate."
"...?"
"That's bad."
"Can I go now?"

No. I would only do it for a magic pony. A flying one.
Which, by the way, is about a plausible as any of us being offered a million bucks for our collections. :p
But if anyone offered me reasonable market value for my entire collection, I would say no.

Yeah, of course I'd sell em for a million...
I'm not really that attached to them in a sentimental way... which is partly the reason why I love Encores so much... I mainly collect G1 now, but it doesn't have to be original 1984/5/6 figures... I'm happy with my brand new shiny Encores thanks. :)
In fact, I've lost a lot of passion for collecting newer lines... I've got heaps of Armada, Energon, Titanium, TF1, ROTF and Animated but I've recently taken most of them off display and put them in storage... I'd probably sell them all for market value as I've really lost interest. My G1, MP & Classics/Henkei figures on the other hand...

Definitely as long as I could keep/reacquire Predaking and TM2 Megatron, otherwise...I hate to say it but probably still yes. Invest it well and you wouldn't be too far off not having to work again, if you could get it up to a sustainable income for Australia and move to say, Kerala (I have a thing for Indian women, lush jungles, and tropical beaches), you could live in luxury without having to lift a finger.
Alternately, I'd get a house with my best friend (who's a fellow TF fan), and it could be his collection which just happened to be accessible to me as well...:D

I sell parts of my collection all the time, for a million that's a no brainer. As SkyShadow said I'd definitely sell them if I was offered more than what they are worth (or worth to me). Of course then I'd just start collecting all over again, with multiple acquisition threads currently on this board I don't think anyone will deny that's all part of the fun of collecting.
Besides if we complete our collections then where does one go next? Do we start a new collection? For me the personal value of a collection is greater when it's incomplete than when it is whole.
