I'm hoping this has a positive impact on the counterfeit toy market on ebay, because if we are more active (against the illegal listings) than the sellers are (of those items), we remove a big source of their income. Less profit for them should discourage them from replicating more figures.

There are two ways to use this section to help out Fans and non-fans, who get stung purchasing Fake Transformers (either from these listings, or later when these toys get into circulation among the collectors).

The first way to help is - if you find a Fake/Counterfeit/illegal Transformers toy (including Knock Offs that are different size/colour/parts), post up the link as a new topic. And try to paste a copy of the reporting method (below), to make it easier for others.

The second way to help is - when you see a new topic posted here, follow the procedure (below) for reporting illegal listings, and post a reply in the topic to say that you've reported it. (this lets me know how responsive people are to this idea)

If you find that the listing has finally been removed by Ebay (because it was reported), post in the topic to say that it was successfully removed (so that others don't need to target it anymore, and we can see how successful this idea is).

HOW TO REPORT ILLEGAL LISTINGS TO EBAY

Look at the very bottom of the auction page under other options. "Report this item" is there as a text link.

Next choose:

Conterfeits and copyright
Potential Trademark Infringement
Other replica or counterfeit items

Click continue. Next it will give the option to include more item numbers and for you to put in a description if you choose to, then click send report.

(thanks to MV75 for that guide)
If this section doesn't attract enough interest after a few weeks, I'll remove it, so that the forum isn't padded out with dead sections.

Questions can be posted in this topic, or suggestions that should be included in this post.

Sigh, one day old, and already out of date. I hate how ebay keeps changing stuff. Wish they'd make up their minds or find something better to do. OK, new guide, now with pictures.

1. Bottom of page, click the highlight.

2. Drop the highlighted box and choose "Listing removal reasons"

3. Drop down the next box and choose the blue highlight. I feel that one is close enough for bootleg toys.

4. Click the highlight.

5. Optionally check the email to me box, then click the highlight.

Next you should get a message in your email account associated with your ebay account, (if you did the optional), and a message in "My Ebay" about the item you reported.

Note; doesn't seem you can multi report anymore. Bummer.

I find it easier & quicker to click 'buy it now' and just not pay due to breach of eBay policy.

But then they still get away with listing junk and ebay doesn't know about it.

So yea, you're not welcome to the work I just put in above. :p

The TFwiki page on knockoffs (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Knockoff#External_links) has a list to several useful external links that assist in identifying counterfeit TF toys.

That it does gok, I used it to get a few banned for the good old Bomander Grimlock & his friends the dinobots

I agree, best way for sure.

Problem with that though - ebay doesn't know about the illegal listings, so the seller will just keep relisting. We want to eliminate the items AND the sellers, and that can only happen if they are reported repeatedly.

Be good if we had a reward/award system for those that fought the good fight but it'd be impossible to measure.

First of all, one has to be logged in.

Then click on the Report Item link which is located here:

3949

You'll then be presented with the report page, I suggest selecting these options:

3950

Once this is done, click on the Continue button which will present you with the following:

3951

Here, you'll be able to add the item numbers of all the KO items this Seller is misleadingly selling as well as allowing you to give eBay brief description of what the situation is.
Hit the Submit Report button and you'll then have completed the process. :)

Spread the word people, let's tell the rest of the community how to bring these suckers down! ;)
