Minerva seems to be withdrawn... maybe someone gave them an offer to sell it off ebay to save fees.

Their GoShooter (http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRANSFORMERS-GOSHOOTER-G1-C-301-WITH-BOX-SHINY-WHITE-AS-PICTURED-/300911745991?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item460fbcdbc7) is still up though, with no bids and less than a day left.
It has sticker wear, but is nice and white, with box and accessories. Looks like no bio card or instructions though.

They have three Ehobby Gen1 reissues that were released at about the same time as that KO Mirage, and they seem quite well versed in the specific details of the Legit toys... so probably does know that Mirage is a fake.

If this person owned the Ehobby toys from 6 years ago (by not noting those as being from his parents), it's unlikely that he got a Mirage from their "parents house" - it's more likely that they are just saying this to be able to claim later that they didn't know it was a fake.

I just reported the item, and let ebay deal with it.

They have a lot of nice yummy-looking, minty-fresh Gen1 toys listed.
A bit pricey, but most come with all their bits and packaging.

I was just looking on Ebay US to see what combiners like Superion go for these days, and the people selling the KO boxsets don't even hint at them being fakes. I was surprised to see so many boxsets listed, but at least you can tell the boxes apart... if you are buying a loose set off ebay, it might be rather difficult.
(I'm looking at getting a second set of each of the early Gen1 combiners, to have displayed in both combined and non-combined forms... but it certainly sucks having such a minefield out there of KOs)

many years ago, I bought a devastator, it was about 20% smaller than the original when I recieved it. but at the time, (circa 2006) I had no idea there were even KO's of original transformers. for nearly $100 it was pretty dissapointing, but at the same time I was happy with it, because I just wanted to have A devastator.

Shame we have to shuffle through so much junk, just to find a real product sometimes. I use to have some KO Headmasters, but I was younger and didn't care back then. I have a movie Sentinel Prime at the moment, that I can't tell if it's a KO or not. I try my best when buying, to buy from someone I know or from a retail store now :D

Postage prices did go up recently in America, so for the seller to be covered by Paypal/Ebay in a dispute, they have to use a certain type of postage... which is now about 50% more than before.
Sellers can still use a cheaper shipping method, but if you claim that it didn't arrive, the seller can't prove to ebay that it was sent.
It's a shame too, as most of the good stuff is in America, but now shipping makes it impossible to buy individual or small items.
Best thing is to find someone with several items you want, and get a shipping quote for the combined lot.... or have someone over there that you can trust to buy and forward items to you. (or go to a convention over there and just splurge :p )
The American sellers won't care too much if they don't get any foreign buyers from the high postage costs, as most don't bother (or want) opening it up to non-Americans to begin with.

the above is correct, but I'm getting a loose animated deluxe shipped over First Class Mail International (this seller is a trusting gentleman) and shipping is costing about the same amount as a pair of baseball cleats did 2 years ago. the cleats in their box woiuld have to be at least twice the size and weight of the deluxe. I'm yet to see the size of the box when it arrives.

so I got my soundwave, packed in a very small box, shipping was $12 and I was charged $18. I've questioned the seller about it, because he certainly didn't spend any money on packing or the box. or more than 5 minutes preparing it. he hasn't come back to me yet with a response. I think 50% extra is a bit much profit on shipping and handling charges.
it was first class mail international, which most will tell you is untrackable, which is why most shipping from the states starts at around $40 as that's the chepest tracking option I think.

I don't love this mold, my Grappel had a misfired pin, and I didn't really have an avenue to replace/fix it.

but for under $20 this is a pretty good deal I think (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Transformers-Generations-Voyager-Protectobot-Hot-spot-GDO-Fall-of-Cybertron-New-/261195667588?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item3cd0799884).

I got my Generations GDO Powerdive through a similar Chinese seller... was about $15.58 with free postage.

but now I'm really worried about how legit his products are (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Transformers-Prime-Weaponizer-BUMBLEBEE-Action-Figure-Robots-in-Disguise-New-/261195676379?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item3cd079badb)?

^
Exactly my thoughts.

Can anyone tell me if this is the real deal, if yes I'm sold.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Transformers-Weapons-System-Sentinel-Prime-Figure-Kids-Toy-Model-Gift-Accessory-/271143941416?pt=AU_Action_Figures&hash=item3f21703528

the hotspot seems totally legit, it's probably the best version of the mold for me. even though not a combiner. it's shipping container was only brown paper so the box was pretty knackered when I recieved it, but the toy was fine.

If you can't find any KO guides online or in our resources section, have a look on ebay for any AFA graded packaging and see if you can see for yourself any differences with ones that aren't AFA graded. Like for Superion boxset, I saw that there were more grids visible below Superion's groin on the legit version.

KOs have been known to sneak through AFA before, but I think they are better now at spotting them (now that they are more prolific).

It very well might not be a KO, it was the leader class Sentinel Prime. The box seems fine, the figure itself looks perfect. It just feels like it's made of crap. And it can't transform due to so many parts moulded slightly the wrong size. I'm going to buy another in the future just to compare. As a robot though his great, I just had to remove the electronics from the inside so his chest all clips together flush.

Looks suspicious. Most new Voyager Blackouts/Grindors go for $90+ on eBay. At the price for that listing, you'd struggle to even find a second-hand Voyager Blackout. Looking around, several Chinese sellers are also listing Legends-class Blackouts using pictures of the Voyager-class toy (example (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hot-On-Sale-Transformers-BLACKOUT-Legends-Class-Movie-Decepticon-/390605613359?pt=AU_Action_Figures&hash=item5af1e8a92f)).

I think he's doubting the authenticity of it based on the cheapness and sheer volume available.... from a Chinese source.

Looking at the other Transformers items they have (http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/m.html?_odkw=&item=310674317016&_osacat=0&redirect=mobile&_ssn=makeasy2u&_trksid=p2046732.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0&_nkw=transformers&_sacat=0&_from=R40), it initially looks dodgy, due to such huge quantities (100+ of most), and at prices that are less than they were here PLUS have free shipping. It makes you think KOs.

But considering their feedback score makes them fairly reliable, and most of the items were not known to be Knocked-off, I think that they are probably just an "outlet" for excess factory stock, like the Reject Shop. They probably got thousands of left-over toys (not just Transformers) for a couple dollars each, and can then sell them cheap with free shipping and still make a huge profit.

If you are after some pretty cheap TF3 and some Generations toys from 2011-2012, it's probably a good opportunity.

I see what you mean. Am I right in thinking that it's more than likely the most expensive individual BotCon toy? Aside from the custom class ones that is. I remember a guy was selling his at BotCon 2011 for like $600.00. Starting to think I should have taken him up on the offer.

It was a cool idea, but it's not like the toy represents the epitome of modern toy engineering.

There aren't many non-G1 toys that come close to that $1k mark (and sells), it's looking likely to be the most expensive toy in the last 10-15 years?

interesting, so overall reasonable quality. It's surprising though, given the revitalisation of the MP line that people are willing to spend over 1K to get one of these. when there is a fair liklihood that we'll be getting official MP coneheads in the next 5 years.

Looks legit - Canadian Pepsi adds about 300%, Canadian MIB usually means a reduction in price. I dont get the canadian slag hype, sure it looks more cartoon accurate but really?!? If the box was significally different ie MB branded it would be way cooler but seems like a few collectors go on about it and others just follow along. If the KO makers were smart they should have made that guy one of the first repoductions.

messaged this guy a day or so ago, he refuses to believe they are KO's, rather genuine 'reissues'. I reported them to ebay. Not sure if anything will happen.

and the same goes for that guy too.

The "Gen2 First Aid" was probably just a bit of fun... as it is not likely to fool anyone into thinking it was the actual Gen2 toy, which is a solid bright yellow.

I reported the "Metrotitan in Metroplex box" and 2-pack though.

It's an "art toy". I believe they're hand made and painted resin. Because they're handmade they have really low production runs, like 50 to 80 pieces.
Sucklord, the guy who makes them, seems to have in interest in bootleg aesthetics, so that's where the style for his toys and art come from.

It's quirky, and I thought you guys might find it interesting. :D

There's also a larger sized Megatron in a cloth suit, and a pink resin "Gay Energon" Shockwave, referencing his Starwars/GI Joe "Gay Empire" stuff.

I'm pretty sure the logo was placed there on purpose. In the G1 cartoon it was in that spot on his chest when in robot mode. But in the middle of his bonnet for car mode. It makes him look odd though because on the G1 version the bonnet isn't on his chest making this look completely out of place in his car mode with the masterpiece version

I'm a big fan of Breakdown BTW, mainly because hes a Lambo though :o

I wouldve preferred the middle of the bonnet (regardless of base toy used) or even the bottom right like the G1 toys alt mode, not the G1 toys robot mode though where it ends up on his waist :p -still a nice piece :) now, what's lancalot up to? :D

In extremely limited unreleased numbers, like lasercycles Jazz and Soundwave. Drag Strip (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/File:StuntsDragStripProtoMOSC2a.jpg), Wildrider (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/File:G2-Wildrider.jpg), Dead End (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/File:G2-DeadEnd.jpg) carded.

There was a very small amount of G2 Breakdowns in circulation outside of Botcon too. Either sold at the 1995 Florida Extravaganza Collectibles Show or they just went to Hasbro employees.

I don't think this version is the Botcon one, because it doesn't have a botcon sticker completely covering the other stunticons. Considering 204 of the 300 G2 Breakdowns produced were sold at Botcon, this one is the rarer version.

You're right. Breakdown was available at Botcon '94. 300 were produced and 204 were available at the convention.
As for the other G2 Stunticons and G2 Protectobots, we've seen a few limb robots appear on cards, but just like the loose versions, but these are few and far between and come with quite the price tag. Motormaster and Hot Spot have only been seen loose.

Don't forget those that pay the overinflated aftermarket prices that keep scalpers in business. And i'm not referring to TF alone. People have a choice, unfortunately they're playing into the scalpers hands.

I agree with you, but sometimes there is no choice, when scalpers have bought all around you.:(

You could blame the retailers too for allowing 1 person to buy the entire shelf or the supplier for not supplying enough to begin with, and not send-ing- more when something is popular.

For the record, i try not to support scalpers on new stuff, but i don't think anyone will sell me boxed G1's for $8.97 anymore:p

Only if Robotkingdom went around to the nearby store and scooped up all 18 Soundwaves just to resell at a higher price to the people who now missed out on getting them from that store... yes, that would be worth boycotting.
But RK order from Hasbro, so they can sell at any price they want, because they aren't depriving fans from being able to find it for less at a competitor (which is what Scalper scum are doing - preventing competition by cleaning out alternative sources).

If you had a single TRU store in your location or city, and someone got in at the moment Soundwave was released and bought all (20) Soundwaves... and then you see on ebay someone in your city boasting about it by showing off a photo of those 20 and charging almost double for each (plus shipping) - wouldn't you be pissed?
That's how people feel about toy dealers who are not fans... even if they collect Transformers toys, they are not fans for excessively profiteering off other fans in a scalper (clearing out stores) fashion.

These are legit (licenesed by Hasbro) but are the 1990's Chinese reissues. Some of these were in fact realesed in Oz during the Gold Box era too.

Edit: Just went back to last page, question answered :)

Ive never heard of them before, any other info on them?

Early 90s saw about 20 different early Gen1 Transformers showing up here in their original packaging, just before gold packaged Gen1 and the recoloured Gen2. Since they were released here by Hasbro, it would mean they were legit, but it was never explained why they were reissued like that just as the UK were about to get gold packaging and the US were to get Gen2 versions.
One thought is that they were produced for the "re-launch" of Transformers into China (http://www.fredsworkshop.com/vchina2.html), and I guess someone at Hasbro Australia managed to snag a few for our country.

The 1994 date in that link is wrong though, as I got several of the Gen1 boxed figures in mid 1992, and then the gold-packed ones at the end of 1992... and my first Gen2 toy in 1993.

Hey guys, just thought I'd let everybody know a mate of mine is selling about 80% of his collection over the next couple months. The time has come for him to sell off most of his collection to make way for baby girl. He will be listing everything from universe, animated, prime and movie, and even some exclusives, some are MISB but most are MIB and obviously only been on display or packed away. Due to the volume, listing will continually be added so save him in your seller list. At the moment he has just listed some loose (no packaging) figures just to get started:

Here's a link: http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/banno_benny_89/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

Otherwise his seller id is banno_benny_89.

Should be heaps for everyone to be interested in, and also if you don't require the box he is quite happy to dispose of that to make postage cheaper.

Maybe it needs to stop over at every single depot in the US? :p

If that's the cost to have it 'fully insured', then it might be more worth it to simply ship 3 of them uninsured - I'm sure 1 of 3 will make it here, and anymore than that will be a bonus :p

Christ, that's a lot! It would be funny if he became a commonplace item in the future though. :p;)

I was thinking the same about a similar item that was released in a similar fashion a couple of years ago - a Classicsverse/Henkei Blue Bumblebee (Glyph) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTND3tAqTdo). It was sold by an Asia-based eBay seller that had access to figures not yet released, and did not look like KO (although at one stage there was a few being sold on a known KO/group website). These guys sold between $250-500.

Seems like 'the future' comes quicker than we thought (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331019159280?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649). I'm going to try to nab one of these for a price of a regular deluxe as a novelty. Always have a soft spot for purple-formers :p:o

I'm looking at DOTM Devastators.
I am aware that there is a KO of the Legends combiner but apart from a slight size difference, does anyone know how to tell the real deal apart?
I'm looking at a few listing on eBay here:

cheapest (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Transformers-ROTF-Legends-CLASS-Constructicon-Devastator-Action-figure-/331018196103?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d1238d487)

almost as cheap (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hot-New-Transformers-2-Movie-ROTF-Construction-Devastator-Legend-CLASS-Figure-/130967359593?pt=Figuren&hash=item1e7e435069)

and almost as cheap as that (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Hasbro-Transformers-ROTF-Legends-CLASS-Constructicon-Devastator-YM51-/310670430997?pt=UK_ToysGames_ActionFigures_ActionF igures_JN&hash=item4855669315)

all of the sellers seem to have both legit and non-legit figures in their listings. short of just asking them which I will probably do, though you can never be too sure of guys with some dodgey stuff.

I don't recall there being a KO set available in this packaging. The ones that AC toys were selling were marketed as Transforming Five King, or something like that & were noticeably different.
That's the US packaging variant, in contrast to the multilingual version that were available here at Target. Here's an image of mine for comparison

I've been trying to figure this out myself, as I really want to get one. But I have no idea which ones are a KO and which ones are not.

Hey, thanks Sinnertwin,
The pictures show different paint/missing paint on the different KO's compared to the legit version.

that makes these ones on eBay pretty accessable.
