My friend sent me this pic from Kuala Lumpur:

Check out the Animated Voyagers in robot mode! I've love to get me a couple of those.

Ooh. I'll be in Malaysia very soon (KK, not KL). I might grab myself one of those annoyingly tricky-to-find here Desert Brawls. And I'll get the chance to pass up that overpriced Devastator toy, as well (:

Jay, if I have the bag room and I see those Voyagers, I might be able to grab you one. _if_ I have the bagspace. LMK if you're interested.

I'll be back SG in mid Nov so i'll check what there is for you. I did spot these packagings at TRUs when I was back in Feb this year. Didn't know anyone would want spares of them in robot mode.

I might go find the remaining Universe Voyagers like Bruticus and Vector Sigmas as well as other Animated figures. Hoping I can still find a Henkei/Classic Mirage somewhere

No worries. I should ask... how much should I pay? I believe MYR prices are similiar to or slightly cheaper than AUD Transformer prices, so I doubt it'll be too much - but I'd hate to overcommit you.

Found at Dunedin Toyworld (New Zealand), the new Robot Heroes Battle Scene packs (the first two), plus Human Alliance, Combiner Devastator and Wave 3 Legends figures. The Warehouse in NZ also has the two Universe Deluxes we never got here (Ratchet and Hot Shot), plus more of those Universe Legends that Zippo has been selling lately.

I was over here on a snowboarding trip, and ended up coming home with a bag full of TFs instead (TFU Ratchet, Legends Mudflap, both Battlescene packs, Combiner Devastator and a TF2 robot-cast poster).

And you got those RH figures. Cheers, one less set I have to look at, unless they restock as they think they are popular..

Autocon, Brawl was a display item in the store I found him at - so none left, sorry. No Midnight Watch Primes.

I did come across some clearanced Animated toys today at a department store, which was nice. I wasn't really interested in most of the, buty I did pick up an Atomic Lugnut for myself.

It was tempting, but they were NZ$85, which would be about AU$68 - way more than what I would expect them to be at Kmart (if they ever get them), and more than the $50 people said they were at Toyworld. And they only had Bumblebee.

Hey,

If you look at the pic carefully, on the left button area, there is a dark version silver bolt universe classic, right?

It has a decepticon name but it is actually silver bolt repaint. It is TRU exclusive selling 70$ today. I think the box in photo even have TRU tag on it!

My question is, where are they from? Aren't they are supposed to only in TRU?

I can't comprehend what you're asking, but yes, it's Universe Darkwind and it's a Toys 'R' Us exclusive along with Countdown, the toy to the left of it in the photo.

It could be, as far as I know. And exclusives aren't the same internationally. We've had US Target Exclusives sold at Australian Toys 'R' Us, US Kay-Bee exclusives sold at Australian Myer, US Target Exclusives sold at Australian David Jones, US Sam's Club exclusives sold at Australian Big W and so on - the list is nearly endless.

Spotted at TOYS R US in one of the shopping mall in Johor Bahru (malaysia).

Can't remember exact price so only approx:

MP Grimlock ~ RM499 (AUD 165)
MP Sunstorm ~ RM450 (AUD 150)
MP Prowl ~ RM 300-330 (AUD100-110)
MP Acid storm ~ RM399 (AUD130)

Retailed more expensive than australia's. I'm perplexed on how the collector's afford/tolerate such ridiculous pricing RRP here. I suppose u'd only buy with some sort of discount or offer in place

So I got desperate and couldn't source any motormaster from amazon cause prices are insane. Decided to checkout taobao in China and found the official hasbro store on there sells all the wave 1 and 2 CW for reasonable price. 128 yuan for a deluxe and 189 for a legend. Works out to be about $27 and $39. In case anyone was interested.

For those of you travelling to Asia over the next month or two Toys R Us is running a RID2015 promotion in store (in Hong Kong at least... often the same promotional give-away turns up in Singapore) giving a RID 2015 set of crayons free with a spend over HK$300 of RID 2015 Transformers while stocks last. https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3788/19467260638_7c0fcd962c_z.jpg

I'm throwing this up here incase anyone is interested.
I was in the Causeway Bay Toys R Us today and they had cleared the end of their Transformers section and replaced it with this:
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5629/20961248732_edc3d61b67_n.jpg
SDCC Devastator and the Combiner Hunter girls ON SHELF.

They also had this guy:
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/693/20971074005_1afddc95bd_n.jpg
He actually looks a whole lot nicer than traditional coloured OP (can't believe I'm saying that!) and has interchangeable faceplate... I almost brought him but as I tend not to collect black Primes and don't know what a good price for him is (and Toys R Us are normally more expensive than elsewhere) I reluctantly skipped getting him.

They also had CW Starscream (lots of him) and Battle Core Optimus Prime, but none of the Optimus Maximum limbs.

griffin
29th August 2015, 06:52 PM
That's really expensive for those SDCC toys. That's about AU$300 for Devastator.

Hasbro must have produced a LOT of them to have excess at both SDCC and at the HK Con, for there to be stock being sold off at the Hasbro Toy Shop and HK TRU stores.
Hopefully this will force Hasbro to cut back on the extravagance and expense of these SDCC exclusives. As wonderful as some have been, I think they've been going a little too far with some... and not far enough for the expense of others (like Metroplex and Devastator).

I agree with everything you've said there which is part of the reason I posted this.
Horrid exchange rate aside, Devi isn't worth that price and I'm curious to see if he shelf warms... can you imagine it - regular Devi sold out at Big W in Oz while "exclusive" SDCC Devi sits on shelves for months in HK...

Personally I'm getting a bit annoyed that [insert show] exclusives are being sold on regular mass toy store shelves. The whole point of these exclusives is that they are something limited and special you have to put a bit of effort into getting - be it going to a show or trying to get in quick to secure them from official online sources (I lined up for 1/2 an hour to get our sets of Combiner Warriors from HKACG (and they "sold out" at the show)). It seems like a lot of the "exclusive stuff" is getting much bigger production runs and isn't all that limited after all which defeats the purpose of marketing them as anything special in the first place.

Don't get me wrong - love the CW girl repaints, just wish we had known they would become general release so we didn't stress out about trying to secure them at HKACG.

griffin
29th August 2015, 11:18 PM
I'm kinda both ways... I like having some items as exclusives to make it extra special for those able to get one, and that it doesn't upset those people who did go to that extra trouble or expense just to find them more readily available later. But since we are on the ass-end of the world in terms of Transformers, for the benefit of fellow Australian fans, I sorta don't mind if exclusives are made more available, because they are usually not released here.

The numbers on the planes are replicating the numbers that were on the original Gen2 Aerialbots, but the back of this Superion box has assigned the toys numbers in this set (http://news.tfw2005.com/2015/09/17/in-hand-photos-of-generation-2-cw-aerialbots-301443) (like on the cardbacks & boxes of the other combiner toys) that could have matched the numbers on the toys but don't... like, Silverbolt is at the top of the list and numbered 1, but has 5 on the toy.
Considering that the individually released toys have the core figure (like Silverbolt) numbered as 3 on the back of the packaging, why couldn't they re-number them on this box to match the numbers on the toys, just for fun and uniformity.

Almost certainly because of lack of communication between departments. The toy designers must not have (been able to?) let the packaging designers know what they were up to.

A Nestle Cereal company here in Hong Kong have released some toys in their cereal boxes from the RID 2015 show which seems to be ramping up some momentum here. 3 to collection - Bumblebee, Optimus and Grimlock.

We got Grimlock in the cereal packet we brought today.

https://farm1.staticflickr.com/627/21696057576_4c9d8477d7_z.jpg

Apparently if you shine a torch from above their eyes glow.

My son is chuffed with it to add to his Grimlock collection. I want Optimus, purely for the gimmick so I'll let the kids continue buying the cereal until we get him. :)

Toys in cereal boxes... that's so 80s. I love it. :D

I don't think western countries have toys in cereal boxes anymore, due to safety and lawsuits over choking hazards... even if the toy isn't inside the bag with the actual cereal. (I guess kids are too busy watching cartoons at breakfast to see what they are spooning into their mouth)

The lawsuit-happy parents killed off all the fun for the kiddies.

It took me a while to find it, but this is the promotion in Chinese (https://www.nestle.com.hk/promotion/transformer)... and it looks like a prize draw is running this month as well.

This youtube video demonstrates the light-up feature (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSPWbivWVfI), from the same promotion in Malaysia in March.

You should post up some photos as news on TFW, as these things would tickle the fancy of collectors who obsess over super deformed bots... and you can include the two links I found as well if you want.

Nah that's okay.

Only post about it if you think it is worth it. I just figured that with them posting up things like happy meal toys, those cereal figures might get some attention... and a chance for you to show off something the Americans don't have. :p

(some of them actually think America is the centre of the universe... when the *Japanese* Masterpiece Shockwave was eventually revealed to have the Japanese original name of Laserwave on the display tag, there was someone on that site having a go at people for not calling it Shockwave, because to him as an American on an American fansite, Laserwave was a "foreign" name... and then other people agreed with him  )

Just incase anyone is interested Hasbro really must have overstocked SDCC Devastator. He's now reduced to clear at HK Toys R Us for HK$1299 (AU$238) and some of the smaller local stores in HK have him for HK$999 (AU$183)!!

Not often you see an "exclusive" go cheaper than the regular version (which is still around the $1299 mark itself and decidedly harder to find here).

If he wasn't so big and awkward to pack up robustly to ensure he would last the journey (I don't even know where I would source a box large enough to ship him in) I'd be happy to (assuming he hasn't sold out). Although I suspect shipping would add at least another AU$45-50 to his price. :/

I know my son already has a couple from the blister packs...

They aren't going to sell well if there isn't anyone unique in the set as the blister packs are only HK$15 to HK$18 here (cheaper than the HK$20 the balls are).

So if you are reading a guide that mentions this store be aware it no longer exists.

Their Mong Kok locations are still open for now.

Apologies if this is the wrong place to mention this - wasn't sure where it would be best to publish this info.

Blizzard Drift and Overload are wave 1, and were in stock at American online stores two weeks ago, so it would be likely that they are out in Asia at this time as well. Since I haven't seen it reported anywhere yet, the one you found would still be a world first Retail sighting.

Can't say I liked it but a small kid was desperately begging his dad to buy him one while clinging lovingly on to a legion sized RID2015 Optimus Prime. :)

Also purely for amusement:

How many of these did Hasbro make??? We have more of the SDCC sets here than the original (and the original is more expensive!)

That is an amazing photo of the SDCC Devastators.
I also wonder just how many of them did Hasbro produce, as they didn't sell out at SDCC, and the Brisbane Toysworlds appeared to have acquired at least a hundred units... and they were showing up in Asian ToysRUs stores in bulk.
I see that it is on sale in your photo, from HK$1800 (about AU$300) to HK$1300 (about AU$220). The Brisbane Toyworlds here were selling theirs for $250 in the stores (of the stock they didn't sell at the Comic Con), but I don't know what the original price was at the Comic Con in September (the original release of them).

As for the RID 3-step Drift, did you see Thunderhoof as well, as BBTS has them both listed in the same wave. Maybe they were already purchased before you got there.

The pair were just sighted in an American store in the last day, so they were probably already snapped up at the store you were at.
I guess check out some of the other HK TRU stores to see if they got them in as well.

Visited the local version of toy kingdom at a large shopping mall today in Saigon, Vietnam. Spotted a heap of Transformers on the shelving. For those who are interested, Hasbro CW deluxes are retailing at 749,000VND, which is about $45AU

I thought these were manufactured here in Vietnam? Doesnt explain why pricing is so dear

I talked to a local there after having a hard time finding any on shelves last time I was in Vietnam.
Apparently Vietnam is contracted to manufacture Transformers solely for export. Despite being made there this means they are either a) extremely hard to come by (unless you know someone willing to sell from the back door of the factory) or b) incredibly expensive as they are a luxury product which really sucks and makes life expensive for the local Vietnamese collectors. I suspect Vietnamese distributors have to source the product from overseas (Hong Kong Hasbro?) to re-import in for retail sale which kind of sucks.
Transformers shows and movies are REALLY popular there so it is kind of sad that access is all but limited to collectors and not many kids have the chance to play with the toys. In fact when my son was playing with one of his figures at a restaurant he even had adults and waiters asking what kind of cool toy it was as they hadn't seen a "real" Transformer figure before.

This isn't a toy per say but I thought some of you might be interested in the latest marketing campaign for RID Season 2 in Hong Kong.

This is my daughter's current school bus:

https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1610/24535939942_63505541b3.jpg
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1481/24348760260_00f1e1c276.jpg

Interesting that Drift seems to be the prominent character with Bumblebee shunted to the side and the other characters only in vehicle mode with Optimus leading up the rear.

And for those curious, here is what my daughter has on the back of the seat in front of her when she sits on the bus:
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1538/24618110176_085e7eb5d3.jpg

She also tells me there is another bus at her school that has Fixit instead of Drift on the side too.

Guess they are once again going to run a heavy RID campaign here despite it being the last season.

Drift is likely to be a prominent character because of the focus on the Minicons this season.

Some random things sighted in Hong Kong by JustOwen last month while he was over there that he sent me...

An Optimus Prime candy cane.

The Kinder Joy eggs with the RID figurines (which Bladestorm had noted were out in HK a month or so ago).

I have tried asking for displays repeatedly but it seems the only response I can ever get in Hong Kong is "can not!" even for the cheap cardboard stands and even when I get my husband to ask in Cantonese so as much as I would LOVE that display I don't think I have any chance of getting it. *sob*

Just got back from Japan and I was surprised at how little I saw on shelves (admittedly I only got to one Mandarake, one BIC Camera and 2 Toys R Us due to kids and skiing). Also prices in Hong Kong are currently on par with those in Tokyo after you add tax right now (in fact MP's and RID toys are cheaper in HK). But I did manage to pick up a Ghost Starscream Q Transformer.

There should also be a black/aqua TFPrime Optimus as well (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Takara-Tomy-Dream-Tomica-Transformer-Bumblebee-Nemesis-Prime-Diecast-Toy-Car-SET-/331408461598). The pair were released beginning of last year, and I saw them when I was over there last April at one of the independent vendors at Richmond Arcade, but didn't buy them because they were too expensive (more than the TRU price, but TRU didn't look to have them yet at that time).

The top 2 my kids chose for themselves with their lai see money for their own collections.

They had a lot of different stuff on offer from MoTU, Gundam, Thunderbirds, Masked Rider, etc as well as Transformers.
Transformers for sale were a real mixed bag. I wish I'd had someone like Griffin there to guide me...

I took quite a few pics (despite being frowned at by the staff) so to make it easier and not flood this thread with photos if you want to have a look at many of the goodies that were there you can check the photo album (https://www.flickr.com/photos/kiwiinoz/albums/72157662661644324) out. If anyone sees an Optimus in those pics they think would be worthwhile and decently enough priced to add to my Prime Shrine please let me know. I was somewhat overwhelmed by what I found and not sure which figures might be worth it.

The sale is only on until Sunday 28th Feb 2016. If any of you are in town at the moment and want the address and directions let me know.
I'm still trying to find out if this is an annual "clean out" event or a one off. None of the staff there spoke English (and my Canto isn't fluent enough to be able to ask that) - in fact I think they were rather shocked to see a westerner at an event that had only been advertised to selected groups in Chinese. ;)

Animate (those of you who have been to Japan/Hong Kong may know of the chain store) is having a warehouse sale here this week (end date unknown but guessing only a few days).

I went along yesterday and had to take a number and wait for 1/2 an hour to get in.
They had a diverse range of Transformers HOWEVER pricing was inconsistent.

Of the bargains I found - Road Rage for HK$200, some QT's for HK$30. The Jetfire I got actually came up as HK$60 but because of the sticker on it they gave it to me for $30.
There were other bits and pieces but many of them were what I consider regular retail price. The Nike Marine Convoy shoe figure was HK$350. I wasn't sure if he was worth it so I skipped getting him. The Rodimus was HK$200. The EX sets were HK$450 each (they retail for that normally so not really a sale price).

https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1626/26250146532_6c9dfc5597.jpg

The range of other toylines included Saint Sanya, One Piece, numerous well endowed Japanese anime, Star Wars (all Japanese release figures), Marvel, Gundam, Doremon, Ultraman, etc. They even had a HK$2000 Godzilla for sale!

They also had a huge range of books and magazines, including some awesome Gundam art books and Japan release Hobby Japan etc for HK$10 each.

I picked this up for HK$100 as I loved the recent one I found in Japan:
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1698/26316582596_7d8ee205af.jpg

It wasn't anywhere as good as the previous sale I went to a while back but I did come away with a couple of finds. If anyone is over in the next week and would like an address let me know.

Apologies for the blurry pictures - I was trying to sneak them as they didn't want photos being taken and you even had to check your bag in before being allowed into the warehouse.

As Griffin mentioned in international sightings RID figures are also out... I picked up the last Windblade for my daughter. All the other characters had already sold out at my local store.

On shelf the cheapest I saw Power Surge OP was HK$399 in Wan Chai.

Wave 1 Titans Return is out here in the local stores (haven't checks TRU yet). Power Master Prime ranges in price from HK$430 to HK$470 while Blaster is only HK$380.

That is a real big clearance price... like buying 2 Deluxe and getting 2 Voyagers and a Deluxe for free.
Even though it is Movie Dinobots and I have 4 sets already from the different versions released :o I would probably get that set at that price, pretty much just for the uniquely "Gen1" heads.

It is very tempting and I admit my son took a good long look at them before deciding to get a Titans Returns figure instead. He justified it with the fact he has 2 sets of all the figures already and he doesn't like the G1 heads on the bay-formers dinobots... he wants the real G1 looking dinobots. :)
I would gladly buy a few for Oz based people but the problem is the boxes are so darn long they are impossible to ship because none of the HK Post boxes fit them (same issue with the SDCC 3 pack boxes) and I don't trust the hasbro packaging as strong enough to withstand international air mail on it's own even wrapped in bubble wrap.

There were more than just them - Ratchet and the Jetwing Optimus as well.
It would seem Hong Kong has found a whole pile of MIB/MOC Animated figures over the last few months and put them back on shelves with those cheaper prices. I don't collect Animated - it's the one iteration of Optimus I really don't like either in personality or aesthetic so I always overlook these guys. A few months back they also had Blitzwing and another chunky plane looking character. I've given up trying to figure out how the logic of all these cases of figures get found and re-distributed but it seems to be a common thing here in HK to see a case of "old" figures pop up from time to time for random toy sales.

Also "new" on shelves were the Revenge of the Fallen robot replicas (Japanese release) non transforming figures so I picked up Optimus and Ironhide for HK$68. (Real figures not KO's).

Just got back from a family trip to Shanghai.
I didn't get a time to try and hunt down specialist toy stores while there however in our travels I encountered 3 toy stores with Transformers in them.
Interestingly prices for Transformers are generally about 10% higher than in Hong Kong when you take exchange rate into consideration. Some specialist sets were almost 50% more expensive than Hong Kong.

Straight out of customs and my kids came across a convenience store that had Transformers "sets" - a plastic drinking cup and 4 blind packed figures for RMB68. They are officially licensed to a Chinese company which might be why I've never seen them in HK. We got 3 as my son wanted a Grimlock cup, my daughter wanted a cup with Strafe on it and I got good old Optimus Prime.

The large Toys'R'Us in Pudong had these Transformers figures that haven't been released in Hong Kong.

This store also had Year of the Monkey Optimus Primal reduced to RMB299 (which I think is just above AU$50)... I suspect if lots of Transformers collectors hit town for cybertroncon those will sell out quickly.

There was a store on the 7th floor of a "children's" shopping mall in the Bund (a district in Shanghai) that also had a selection of Transformers. They were the same price as Toys'R'Us and didn't have any unique figures - mostly just Combiner Wars like Wheeljack and Smokescreen.

The final store I found Transformers in was in a seriously crowded tourist district near Yu Yuan (Yu Garden) called Superman Toys. They had loads of Transformers as well as a display. Prices were slightly cheaper here for CW figures.
They had a Year of the Snake Omega Supreme which was tempting but as I don't know what the proper retail would be I didn't risk buying it (internet is not easy to access while out and about). Interestingly they had the AoE power battler toys sold in boxes, not on cards like in Hong Kong.
They also had the oversized KO figures side by side with the real stuff but the KO figures were twice as expensive as they are here in HK... go figure!

And one last note... not one convenience store we went into had the container milk "advertised" in the Transformers movies ... we wanted to get one so the kids could re-create the slurping scenes but alas no luck this time. ;)

Also on the shelves were these new RID products:

That 15 pack isn't an exclusive, but was only found out from an RK listing, so that's probably the first retail sighting of it.
They are all either identical or minor colour differences to the regular releases.
Is that the price - HK$500?
If so, that's about AU$5.50 per Minicon... which isn't too bad if you haven't bought any yet.

Ah ok. This set was available at HKAGC (ani-com) with all the SDCC stuff so I just assumed. ;)

My kids have almost all the figures in this set so had no real interest in it other than checking the figures were the same as what they already had.
You are correct - current retail is HK$499. Be interesting to see whether it sells or not.

I went. Obi-wan was sold out by the time I was able to go, however Hobbybase got in stock of old Ben last week (although it may be sold out by now but you could always check their website).
Kylo Ren is shelf-warming at Toys'R'Us... which is understandable given how awful he looks without that helmet on. ;)

The only set I got was the Titan Force set as my daughter wanted Windblade and my son wanted Brainstorm and Sentinel but they also loved all the free Kre-o they got with the set.

The XiaoMi Soundwave and SDCC Fort Max were in stock a Hobbybase on Monday. Note there are 2 versions of XiaoMi Soundwave - the SDCC version which is around HK$400 and the regular version which seems to be 1/2 that price. The difference is purely colouring.

How curious! That looks identical to the ones you can buy at Toys'R'Us stores in China other than the Universal Studios logo on the box so I'm a little perplexed at them putting "exclusive" on it. They retail in Shanghai for about AU$29.
Did they have any of the other characters in the line? - Megatron, Optimus, Bumblebee, Grimlock?

It is just the regular toys, but showing up at various Universal Studios since May (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?p=522090&post522090), with the exclusive sticker on them.... but I guess it's technically correct if they aren't at retail in either of those two countries at the moment.

Some photos from Christalcase while he was in Singapore and HK last weekend.

Singapore Airport toy stores - the new Rescue Bots HighTide converting bot & the redeco Megabot (big) Heatwave (quite a lot of Rescue Bots toys
actually), plus heaps of the "Alt Modes" at the top left. Also, the second RID Minicon 4-pack, and the big 15-pack. Looks like most of the Titans
Return toys as well, but they've been out for a while in Asia.
He mentioned finding a second toy store in the Airport since we were there a few years back. (it is a big airport)

Then in Hong Kong.
ToysRUs at Shatin and Tsim Sha Tsui (Ocean Terminal - probably the biggest TRU store in HK).
I can see a lot of the newer RID toys (the green strip at the bottom of the packaging), as well as the 3rd Minicon 4-pack, plus the newer Rescue Bots toys too.
As usual, the TST TRU store looks to have a Transformers diorama of some nicely painted toys. And it looks like there are still various SDCC exclusives
floating around, of the 3-pack from this year, and the Devastator from last year.

Apita - The RID roleplay sword at the top, next to the Platinum Edition Cyclonus 3-pack. Plus heaps of Rescue Bots, and Q-Transformers, and the

What's even scarier is it looked like that several months ago when I was over there and hasn't seemed to have changed! Talk about de ja vu!
Toys'R'Us HK seem to be really slow in updating their TR line (maybe because these guys aren't shifting... which may be because they put them on the shelves almost 6 weeks after every other store got them in).

I concur, Blurr and Scourge's alt-modes are extremely futuristic/alien. Unless the beholder is a g1 fan like us who grew up seeing those things, it's not as easy to appreciate. Less nostalgia value. But regardless, Blurr and Scourge are pretty good toys.

More sightings in Hong Kong from yesterday.

In Terminal 2 at the Airport, there was a surprising amount of stores and three of them had varying amounts of toys, including this one that had quite a few Transformers on sale and in their display cases, including very recent ones... most for surprisingly reasonable prices for an Airport store.

At the top is the new Lynxmaster and Liokaiser, along with other combiners and the SDCC Devastator.
http://toycollectors.com.au/2016fs21.jpg

Not only did they have the Hasbro Fortress Maxims, but they also had the Japanese one for sale as well.
http://toycollectors.com.au/2016fs22.jpg

They had two display shelves of Kids Logic Transformers.
http://toycollectors.com.au/2016fs23.jpg
.
http://toycollectors.com.au/2016fs24.jpg

And out the front in one of the display cases was an original RID Brave Maximus.
http://toycollectors.com.au/2016fs25.jpg

One of the other stores in that terminal had a random selection of a handful of Transformers, including these old ones - Fire Guts God Ginrai, SDCC fembot 3-pack, and the Superlink Devastator.
http://toycollectors.com.au/2016fs26.jpg

At the ToysRUs Express in Central - nothing unusual that wasn't in the other photos of other HK ToysRUs stores.
http://toycollectors.com.au/2016fs27.jpg

One of the independent toy stores at Wan Chai had the new Rescue Bots High Tide that had shown up in the other recent photos, but with it were reissues of the bigger first year toys, with grey redeco weapons from their second year release. This explained why the High Tide figure looked bigger in those other photos, because it is of the old larger size to go with this new assortment.

I'm in the US at the moment for work, been around multiple comic shops and second hand shops also a flea market, have seen a few modern loose primes but that is it. Nothing G1 or masterpiece. May go a TRU later this week.

Managed to pickup 3 loose real ghostbuster figures for $6 and saw some go-bot socks in package. Also saw a Krang with Android body that was completed $95US.

Thought I would share a few sightings in Hong Kong for those who may be interested.
Movie posters are now starting to pop up everywhere and on buses.
This sign next to the Causeway Bay Cross Harbour Tunnel (https://www.instagram.com/p/BU802u1gC2M/?taken-by=titzkiwi) is probably the most impressive so far.

Bangkok 2017

I've always been told finding Transformers in Thailand wasn't worth it. After spending a couple of days in Bangkok I discovered Transformers are available... at a price. The general rule is if it is imported it will be more expensive. If it is made locally it will be reasonably priced.
The markup on Transformers (and toys in general) at Toy'sR'Us are between 40 and 60% more than what I pay here in Hong Kong.
HOWEVER the Dickie die cast vehicles were cheaper than here in Hong Kong by about 20%. I later realised this is because they are made in Thailand and not subjected to the hefty import taxes that are levied on most other products.
I went to 2 places, both in a mall called CentralWorld.
The first was a department store called Zen. It had a toy section on the 6th floor. I found this store to be slightly cheaper than Toys'R'Us and they had a sale on all die-cast vehicles while I was there so I got further discount off the price of my Dickie vehicles.

A shame about the prices... and we think ours are bad.

So many different sets of those Simba/Dickie cars available there - I actually didn't think that they ended up being made (all those ones in the press releases), but I guess if they were made in Thailand, that's where you'd find them.

More Velocitron sets by the pallet load. A pity they didn't show up in more Western locations for those who were wanting it.

Here is what the displays/shelves looked like:
Display in the APM shopping mall. They also had My Little Pony (promoting a movie) next to it.

Awesome! Just curious, which TRU is that?

Downright painful seeing all these multiple exclusives just sitting on store shelves that we can only get for scalper one hundred dollar per deluxe prices.

Hasbro are stupid.
Do they learn nothing from other toy companies that actually allow you to buy their toys? They seem to encourage the scalper market with their draconian policies.

The ToysRUs is at Ocean Terminal and is one store I always visit when in HK because it is so huge and always has heaps of TFs.
The other photos are from the Wanchai stores, TRU Causeway Bay, Hobbybase and the Terminal 2 airport toystore. Pricey store, but they always have heaps of different exclusives and new releases. Finding the SDCC Revolution boxset there from 2017 was a surprise... and I had to buy it.
Those photos were taken before I went to the Mongkok stores, Whampoa stores and the Toyzone that used to be at Taikoo.

Looking at TFW2005, I just noticed that the MP-10G has been sighted in the Philippines (https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/Philippines-transformers-sightings.155099/page-7#post-17222213) on a retail shelf!!

Maybe we'll be super lucky and this will become more widespread.

As I had noted in the SDCC exclusives news topic, the one I got from ebay was from Asia with a Hasbro Asia distribution sticker on it (the seller was actually in HK, so probably got it from a local store)... which means that they were available to retailers there, and if you pop on over you should be able to see a few at the moment.
(it's not like anyone has the time to buy toys over there at the moment, being too busy protesting and lighting fires... :p )

For around $252 AUD as well. Paid $330 for mine. Would I have been able to get it here for $77 or less though?......

Ah well. Should have Optimus by the 12th, according to the Couriers Please, in any case.

Toy Kingdom is the toy store of the biggest mall called SM in the Philippines. TRU seems just second to them and both stores are well looked after by Hasbro Asia. They used to do pre sales of upcoming TF toys a few weeks before they hit the shelves (which i believe to give all collectors a good chance to get what they want rather than scalpers storming the malls and making a certain figure "cough-vehicon-cough" jack up its prices).

Anyway i'm pretty sure my mom would not like wearing a proton pack boxed transformer coming here next month...

These sighting are from 2-4 weeks ago. I visited a few shopping centres in the city I was staying at but was only able to find knock offs and Chinese made transforming toys. I was only able to find real Hasbro/Takara Transformers when I visited the bigger cities. A real Hasbro deluxe costs 3-4 time more than a voyager or larger size Knock off so it's unlikely many stores will stock Hasbro products.

Aeon at Teemall shopping centre in Guangzhou
Aeon is a large department store that also has a supermarket section. The store took up the whole basement level of the shopping centre.
The red sale sign means pay only 80% of the price.

That's currently my favourite toystore in the world... every time I go to HK it is one of the first places I go to, and end up spending a few hours in there, and several hundred (Australian) dollars.
They have so many things I currently want too.
With all of the protests and chaos over there at the moment, it would probably be pretty cheap to pop on over for a couple days, and hit the toystores.
(I know... it would be cheaper to buy them all from scalpers on ebay, or find someone in HK who can be trusted, and pay them a bonus $200 to buy and post the toys over that I want... but where's the fun in that :p )

Posted on our fb page, Kingdom Voyager Tigatron has been found at a Toyworld in New Zealand... which is through Hasbro Australia, so we should see it here soon too (if they didn't get all of the stock).

Where in Singapore was it spotted? I haven't seen any Singapore sightings. Did you mean Philippines? (https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/philippines-transformers-sightings.155099/page-12#post-20815221) Philippines often get their toys weeks before Singapore, so it might still be a while before us.

This is old school Singapore shopping, even though the Internet exists now. It's akin to ordering off the menu. TFH is similar, though they sit on less vintage stock. Robo is one of the best places in SG to get out-of-print items, but the markup is heavy. There is another cabinet behind the sales desk and Optimus statue, which has extreme vintage items not for sale, like the G1 Sludge you can see.

If there is something you see, or don't see, it might be worth emailing them for a price and availability quote. They might be able to create an online listing. I don't know.

Ahhhh!!!

Detritus
Windblade
Dreadwing
Earthspark Nightshade
Earthspark Shockers
Earthspark Thrash
Earthspark Grimbo (I think...)
The Cyberverse Clobber everyone needs if only they knew it
The Bombshell that people are looking for
The Buzzwoerthy Towline that RID people want but don't know if it will show up here
The Walgreens exclusive Medix that a bunch of people want (and it definitely won't show up here)
SS86 Snarl, long since sold-out at JB but not yet at bigger stores
