Gutsman Heavy: It's a manga by Tsushima Naoto, the same guy who made the Henkei catalogue manga, only that it's G1 and targetted at an older audience. More info here (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/The_Stargate_Battles). :)

That totally puts to shame my MOSC Oilslick signed by Eric Sierbernaler, hahahahahaha.
Hahaha what about my hand-drawn and signed sketch of Bumblebee by Eric too? :p

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, here's my small loot:
Thanks to the bro Icy for Ejector and Sky Shadow for introducing the Book Depository - pretty fast shipping I'd say with the TF Almanac considering it came all the way from UK. Had a read last night, loving it! Am probably going back to the website again to see what other nice TF books they have there.

Woohoo! I recieved Universe Classics 2.0 Legends Cosmos, Rodimus, Warpath & Wheelie today with a huuuuuge thanks to Zippo from across the lake, I luuuurve them! =oD

NOTE: The following is pointless rambling by me about this aquisition, and probably wouldn't interest anyone, but it matters to me, so I felt the need to say it =oP

Originally, I only requested the set without Rodimus (cause I prefer same-scale tribute figures), and Zippo managed to secure the 3, which I was very happy about. But after speaking to my nephew I discovered he wanted to get Rodimus, so I asked Zippo if he had any luck finding another one, but unfortunately not. So I told my nephew they sold out, then a couple of days later, just before I made payment to Zippo for the 3, he informed me he managed to snag one last Rodimus =oD So I told my nephew, but he already secured one on eBay, but seeing as I had asked so much of Zippo already, I wasn't about to stick him with an extra figure, so I paid for all 4 anyways. And boy, am I glad I got him now, cause Rodimus is sweet! =oD Even if he isn't a same-scale tribute, he's still a sweet little figure in his own right for sure! Thanks again Zippo! =oD

/end ramble.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Today is a special day indeed for i have found my grail.

Well, one of them anyway ;)

After 3 years of searching quite actively it is finally in my possession and better than i ever could have imagined when seen in person.

The DW Generation 1 20th Anniversary Lithograph by Don Figueroa

I'd like to say one of the biggest thanks ever to Blink90210 for the contact and getting this for me.

i met up with him today (feel a little bad i couldn't stay and meet longer but mega tight schedule :( ) and went straight to Victoria gardens to get a frame for it and here it is :D

Also i submitted my massive, massive James Raiz Mega Litho for custom framing for the brutal but certainly no where near the most expensive quote of $215

Thankfully the litho from today is a standard 60x90cm frame. easy pickup for $45 . its when you go to the framers and ask for a 92x152cm frame that things get really expensive. the price just when up and up cause it needed a super solid thick timber frame to take the weight of the glass.

cheers for your feedback guys :D

I actually got these two last week. I've been looking for these two for a while now, kept on procastinating when Dinobot was out, now he's very hard to find in the stores i go to. The Ice-Cream twins are like digging for Fossils, they're there somewhere :D

The Twins thanks to Target and Dinobot thanks to DJ's

Now to look for Cheetor!

Nice... Soooooo nice... *gets extemely nostalgic*

Anyhoo, got RotF Scouts Nightbeat and Ejector today, courtesy of SofaMan's headsup (cheers =o). Already had Scout Dead End, but seeing as I broke my 'no redeco' rule about 3 figures ago, why not, eh? Both Dead End and Nightbeat have sweet colour schemes and a good mould/transformation, and with Sonar on the way, it looks like appealing redecos are go for me =oP

Jaisun: if you're collecting reissues primarily for G1 nostalgia's sake, be aware that TFC (and Encore) Bumblebee's head is different from the original G1 toy. It's a new head that looks more like the cartoon. Encore Bumblebee's colours are also different, simplified to be more accurate to the cartoon. The keychain reissue is more G1 toy-accurate ignoring the loop for the keychain, although its yellow is brighter.

I'll second that.

It's getting a little silly, really. We are here to enjoy reading what others have aquired, and to share our own with others, not to argue over who said what about whatever. Pictures or no pictures, who really cares? If you need to SEE things to believe it, that's your own thing. It isn't the responsibility of others to gratify your visual needs, so it is unfair to demand such things. Personally, if someone posts an aquisition here with no pics, I am more than ready to believe them, because it has obsolutely no effect on me as a person if they are truthful or not, so I have no need to question it. It's the most carefree approach to this, and I can't see why something enjoyable needs to be taken in these negative directions. As they say, "take it outside".

Just my 2 cents...

One thing that does bother me slightly is Bombshell's gun barely sits in his hand as the handle is so bloated. Is this a known issue for this guy or could I perhaps have been given a reissue Bombshell's gun?

Funny you should mention that, my Bombshell gun doesn't quite fit either, but the complete opposite to you. The gun handle is too thin for his hand...

It's my guess that the case doesn't have a disc inside; it just wouldn't fit in the box so they stuck it on the side. Those reissues (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Beast_Wars_Telemocha_Series) came with various episodes of Japanese Beast Wars - you should have "Falcon Warrior Airrazor" and "The Immortal Starscream".

From the last week or two...

Firstly, the prized item, that had been sitting on my top-10 wanted list for over a year - Red G2 Slag.
That completes my Gen2 collection (not getting the grey Dinobots, as they aren't different enough from the Gen1 versions).

http://www.otca.com.au/collection/c03s6.jpg

It's on the left, between the green Snarl and blue Grimlock (heh, what were Hasbro smoking back then...)

Also, from RK and domestic sources:

Gravity Bots Skids & Bolt Bumblebee (domestic)
Legends 5-pack Ironhide, Swerve, Sparkcrusher, Mudflap, Runamuck (RK)
Alternity black Megatron (RK)
Minicon 10-pack Windrazor, Ransack, Stockade, Overcharge, Skyshadow, Scavenger, Longview, Snowcat, Treadshot, Crosshairs (RK)
Legends 4-pack Jetfire, Thundercracker, Autobot Blades, Spinister (RK)
Scouts Ejector & Nightbeat (domestic)

http://www.otca.com.au/0910a.jpg

The allegiance changes with classic/past names bugs me, especially when the people responsible for redecos and store exclusives at Hasbro are
supposed to be the bigger fans of TFs (according to their panels at BotCon). They should be more mindful and consistant with assigning
names to Autobots or Decepticons (in the Minicon pack, almost all were previously a different allegiance, or have never been what it is in this pack).
Not to mention mis-naming a figure that is clearly coloured as a homage to a different classic/ past character (Legends Runamuck should be
Breakdown, and even looks like the upcoming Scout called Breakdown).

Rant over... for now.
On the plus side from this lot - I was pleasantly surprised to find the Mudflap and Ironhide Legends figures are different from their previous, single pack versions.
Below is a comparison photo, with Jetfire, showing the 5-pack versions on the left, and the single pack versions on the right.
It shows Jetfire and Ironhide with obvious added colours, but Mudflap differs by having a 'mud' deco applied to the base and wheel-guards.
It is also a slightly different orange as well.

http://www.otca.com.au/0910b.jpg

And learning that the Mudflap (and Sideswipe) in the Fearswoop 3-pack have battle-damage decos, I'll be able to keep all versions. :)

I'm liking the look of the Straightaway Shoot movie legends pack Griffin, the 'Runamuck' does look better than i thought. And Sparkcrusher looks suspiciously like a G1 Hardhead.

Here is stuff I got this week (minus some of the weapons):

http://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr118/gpls12/340dd47b.jpg

Thanks to SMHFConvoy and hansprimus!

I still havnt figured out how to combine Tripredacus :o
TF1 Starscream - I like him better than the TF2 tattooed version, even if he doesnt have real hands.
Cybertron Quickmix - really does pay homage to G1 version, even with a similarly coloured minicon/targetmaster
TF1 Breakaway - I'm really happy with my Universe Getaway, the colours are spot on for me!
Downshift - I finally found my Universe Wheeljack :D
Depthcharge - I still dont believe he is that big, I keep on picturing him as Mega/Voyager sized.

All in all, am happy with this week's haul.

Ah usually im not a fan of mondays,
but today i'll make an exception :D

Ta Da! MISB 2002 New Years G1 Prime Autographed by the man himself.

Displays beautifully from the front; rear and top has a couple of dents but i was aware of them when i won it on ebay and thankfully are not too bad. (plus i'll never see them anyway)

Truly a prize piece for me that could only be outdone by a signed vintage piece - hopefully i'll own one one day or make to trip to botcon in a few years if he comes back

How come the deluxe insecticons are so much?

I answered this last time you asked basically the same thing: http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=132475&postcount=361

"The Deluxe Insecticons are 'rare' on this continent since they were never released in Australia at retail - any that are here have migrated individually at some point in the past 24 years. The fact that they never had a Japanese release as Transformers also adds to their relative scarcity."

They're rare in general because they only had a Western release and there are only so many Deluxe Insecticons to go around. Unlike their non-Deluxe, non-Bandai-Takatoku brethren who are onto their second rerelease - Takara will almost certainly never be able to reissue them, either.

Got Armada Wheeljack thanks to SMHFConvoy. The alt mode of this toy is great and fits together seamlessly and the gull wings remind me of MASK thunderhawk though it doesn't 'quite' pull it off. Plus the struck out Autobot symbol is certifiably badass. I also love that minicon Wind Sheer is a minute version of a predator jet and is one of the best looking and articulated minicons i've come across so far.

However Wheeljack absolutely fails in robot mode. While having a decent amount of articulation, it's in all the wrong areas. As such Wheeljack is simply incapable of posing like the badass warrior that he is and at best can only pull off goofy enka moves.

Also it really doesn't help that his dual swords look more like two gigantic adult toys.
