Great pick for the mould. I like it. What do you think for the others? I'm thinking Interogator Barricade for Shrapnel and Stockade for Bombshell.

That looks awesome!
His description says it's based on Sideswipe... surely he means Sideways?

Why Hasbro hasn't hired that guy I don't know. Except that maybe his stuff is too good for mass release.
Awesome work as always!

Maybe he charges too much?:) You know how Hasbro is always very budget first before you try anything. With the mods and repainting schemes Jin comes up. I would think it's costly thus deterring any hiring possiblities in toy creation. Well mebbe on toy design but production, nah.

Using that quality of paint and that number of palettes would blow the toy beyond its budget. Neither Hasbro nor TakaraTOMY would be able to produce a toy like that and keep it within a Deluxe price point (AU$29.99/2415JPY). HasTak needs to keep toys affordable (and it's not as if this hobby isn't already expensive enough as it is!).
Getting back on topic, I think it was inevitable that someone would customise Sideways as Kickback -- the mould really does just scream Kickback. When I first got the toy I was wondering why Paramount didn't go ahead and call this toy "Kickback" instead of Sideways, but I considered:
1/ Sideway's movie model (http://www.scifiscoop.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/sideways.jpg) doesn't scream "Kickback" like the toy does, and the movie model came first. I think it just coincidentally turned out that way when HasTak translated the CGI model into the Deluxe action figure (cos the Legends toy (http://www.seibertron.com/images/toys/files/65/r_legendssideways052.jpg) doesn't evoke Kickback at all).
2/ Sideways was never named in the film anyway (I guess they weren't able to squeeze that into his 30 seconds of screen time :p). As far as the movie audience is concerned, his name could just as well be Kickback. Or Barricade. Or Dave. :)
