That's awesome. I think, as with a lot of people's art, your style as a child had a wonderful je ne sais quoi that's been lost along the way as a result of growing up. For your contemporary art's sake it would be great to recapture that fervour and naïveté.

Thanks. :) I believe a lot of my later art is missing the emotional input I used to give to my drawings. When I was younger, I didn't care if the stuff I drew had the right proportions or looked good, I drew simply because I enjoyed the experience. Nowadays, as I am more aware of how good other people's art are as well as having more of an awareness of angles and perspectives, I am more critical of the stuff I draw. Sometimes I feel I am a bit over critical, and this takes the fun out of simply being able to enjoy drawing for drawing's sake.

So, I think I'll try and think like my younger self again.... :)

When I was a kid, I _thought_ my drawings looked good... it's only later that I realised how really crap I was! :D

Here are some of my shockin' pieces from my childhood:

The first I could not see too clearly due to its small size, but I quite liked the second one. At any rate, you had a better sense of the 3rd dimension and general light / shadow tones of surfaces than I did!
