Just out of curiosity where did those from and how much did it cost (approx)?

I got them from the US on eBay. The bunch cost me approximately $16 each. I'm not sure there's something about vintage toys. The Hot Rod for example has blackened steel toes while the Jazz has really old stickers compared to the re-issues but there's something about them that makes them feel like a piece of history. Don't get me wrong, I love re-issues b/c they're so much newer. But there's something about holding a 20+ yr old toy that's still in good nick.

I still haven't decided if I'll see the spares. That was my original intent when I bought the lot b/c I needed the rarer cassettes, Trailbreaker and Chromedome. None of those usually come cheap. The cassettes going for up to $40USD each ($25-30 if I'm lucky), Trailbreaker is $60-80 USD and Chromedome is $100 USD shipped normally. I figured it'd be a bargain since it was sold as whole lot. Then I'd be able to recoup my cost by selling what I didn't need but now I'm not so sure anymore.

Meh. The vehicle mode is love, but the "robot" modes really suffer for that. I'll display it in vehicle mode, but once I've reviewed it I doubt I'll even go for the robot modes again.

It ended up costing me about the same as if I'd gone to get those 6 separately except now I have a whole of G1 goodness. :D My aim after this is doubling up on my G1 TFs.

I am a bit upset about having to part with Sunstreaker, Sideswipe and Red Alert but they've gone to a Sunstreaker tragic so at least they're in good hands. When I do get around to getting doubles of G1, I fear I may regret this! lol

Yeah, according to TakaraTOMY he's a puma - the packaging also states it too. What's weird is how the other mode is just described as a "dinobird" which is kinda lame... I would've preferred something more specific like an Archaeopteryx.

Yeah, but "dinobird" as an alt mode description is lame IMO because it's just so... non-descriptive. Especially when they're willing to be quite specific in describing his terrestrial robot mode as a "puma" but aren't willing to do the same for his aerial robot half.

Also somewhat interesting is that reissue Sky Lynx's function is "transport" whereas of course his original G1 function was "Lieutenant Commander" - and it's not as if it's a discrepancy between the Takara and Hasbro G1 functions (e.g.: like with Jazz, he was "Lieutenant Commander" in Japan but "Special Operations Saboteur" in Hasbro markets) because Sky Lynx has never been released as a toy in Japan before!

Mind you, "transport" would be a more suitable function considering his role as "Air Sky Lynx" in the G1 cartoon and comics. ;)

Soundwave statue. It's beautifully crafted with the energon crystals in the background. You'll even notice a the slight opening of Soundwave's chest to give the feel he's in motion. I didn't think I could get him at a good price but thank Casefresh for the good price (but terrible service)

Here is the breakdown when you end up buying the items seperate for a single figure, Main Bot $37.00 U.S, Powermaster $35.00 U.S and the 2 guns $13.50 each U.S for a grand total of $99.00 U.S which surprisingly is about what they are going for complete. I normally find if you buy an item bit by bit you end up forking out more money:eek:.

- X-Wing Starfighter: awesome alt mode and pretty decent robot mode. Why don't they use this mold more often in SWTF line? It's robot mode is far superior to those Jedifighers that Darth, Obiwan and co keeping getting.

Considering the possibility of seeing a new G1 Omega Supreme representation any time soon, that was one of the things that really prompted me to buy him. I grabbed him from my local comic shop and got a really decent price for it ($265). However, since I placed my order the exchange rate has gone up and I could've probably gotten it for a bit less right now. Doesn't bother me though, it's Omega!

I do like the new head sculpt compared to the original and the fact that the G1 transformation sound + blue eyes (though because of the way they packed it I can't confirm) is there instead of the crappy laser sound of the original. Initial impressions of the energon blade is that the ebay knock-offs look nicer.

Still wished they could've put more of the premium silver paint on - still looks a bit too grey for me.

I've since opened Nightbeat, very impressed, nice tight joints, so clean and new! I could go on for ages! I like his transformation, simple but unique!

Well I was a bit disappointed with the fact that Leader Prime's eyes were still yellow back-lit even though the pics on the back of the box suggested otherwise. But at least the G1 transformation sound was implemented.

Yeah I got the Beanie Babies bag at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, because they had a teddy I knew my grandmother would appreciate. I got some more plushes in the bag. There was actually a really well done puppy along with this rather dubious cat.

Her (yes, it's a her, says so in the tag) actual design is really quite good, although pink stripes and glitter aren't the colours I would have given her.

LCZ showed up today to our meet and said he brought his paints and asked if there was any detailing any of us wanted done. Being a bit jealous of Iceburn's recently acquired Takara Grimlock's teeth, I asked if that could be done. LCZ sat in the lawn chair with a paint brush and did a pristine job impressing us all thoroughly. Thank you again!

Ah, so envious. How much difference a little paint does.

I reckon it's the best movie legends figure. Cybertron had a few very decent ones. I'm not sure how he compares to them. On further inspection, it's a pretty tough choice between the two. Bonecrusher has a far more accurate alt mode. Ironhide though has a superior robot mode with the arms actually having articulation at the elbows. The other quibble i have w/ bonecrusher is the lack of "split" claws on his back which I think are an important aspect of the original. That combined w/ my natural liking for Ironhide from fiction pulls him ahead ever so slightly.

First Encounter Screen Battles Pack today!

I'm really happy with this cause I'm planning to give this barricade a premium paintjob and offer him to the lovely people here- and a bonus(that I'd heard about but wasn't sure myself)- which is that the chest-cavity-filling-frenzy figure is actually removable once you undo the torso (simple screwdriver action). There's a piece of plastic that Frenzy is folded over that prevents movement of him otherwise. Once removed, he pops out like usual!

Also, he was cast in a nice shiney (sparkly?) plastic. Cool stuff! :)

... which come to think of it- I haven't actually removed the sam, mikaela and frenzy from the packaging yet... which was the point I bought the pack for... haha! Silly me!

I got my Encore Meister today and I'm undecided if I like it or not. The front of the car looks great and I've never had a G1 Jazz, but the doors and roof don't appear to fit together properly -- the doors look too small. It might look better out of the box.

I also got the Hasbo reissue Tracks ($30 cheaper than I could find the Takara one for). Mid last year when I started buying TFs online I made a list of TFs I'd wanted to track down. Tracks is the last one off that list so that means now it's time for the new list! :)

The Hasbro Jazz reissue fixed that problem. Probably the only good thing about a Hasbro reissue - particularly that one (stupidly goofy looking oversized missile & launcher, chrome rapage etc).

I have an original G1 Jazz (84) and he suffer from the same problem. It is possible to 'realign' the parts with a little reassemply but it only improves it doesn't really fix it.

gok...encore jazz seems to have the same grin on his face but not very obvious as compared to G1. And yes, i agree with Paul that the door seems too small and falls off easily. the door metal joint to the body has already chip off abit of paint for mine too.

And at $76.73, I had to grab him, repaint or what, he's Prime! :p And here he is with Jungle Bonecrusher and Overcast which I bought couple of weeks ago.

I agree. Sky Lynx would suffer immensely w/out the gold stickers. I removed my Encore from it's packaging just to get the bio card and boy did the lack of stickers look bad.

Benben You will find alot of the stickers line up with markings on the toy. Use them as a guide and your stickers should go on fine:)
