With recent word suggesting that Hasbro would release the Legends/EZ sized Constructicons as a set and not individually like TakaraTomy, a picture of the set in packaging has just appeared.

All seven appear to have the same colourings and names as the JP versions, so those who already have them but still collect variants, won't have any need for this set.

Oooh, I wonder if the release of this toy might see prices for Supreme Devvie fall? ;)
...cos I would consider getting a Supreme Devastator if it were cheap enough. :D (^0^)

Great news for kiddies and anyone else who may not be able to afford Supreme Devvie. :)

Not necessarily people who may not be able to afford Supreme Devastator, more rather people who just think that Supreme Devvie is lame and not worth $50 let alone $100+.

Cool that they did the same box for the Legends as the Supreme, but I think I prefer the Japanese carded versions .. mainly as I have a thing against storing empty boxes at the moment.

I've heard Jan / Feb 2010. It has been confirmed as a Target exclusive here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=137767&postcount=1)

Ok...I don't know anything from anything when it comes to toys other than G1. So I've just gotta ask. Why doesn't anyone like that big devastator? And why is everyone melting over this (smaller?) version? What's the difference?!

The main reason for me (can't speak for everyone) is that the legends one has individual bot modes as well as vehicle modes. The larger Devastator (Supreme class) only has vehicle modes.

Robzy

Yeah... the giant one doesn't have individual robots that also transform! The Legends each transform and they form Devastator!

ITZTRU
12th December 2009, 06:08 PM
oh really? see i didn't know that. so if the bigger one transformed into individual robots...you'd all be liking the bigger one better then?

what about the quality of the toys themselves...are they the same? Coz i saw pics of the smaller devvie u all like...and the plastic looks (sorry for saying...) kinda...cheap. Is it the same as big devvie?

When combined, EZ/Legends Devastator is just about the height of a standard deluxe. The toys are definitely different designs, but i'm not sure about the plastic, i imagine it's pretty standard Legends class material though. Perhaps you think they look cheap because there are not a whole lot of paint apps.

never thought of it that way...makes sense though...
no point in comparing "legends" and "deluxe" or anything like that with me coz I won't know what you're talking about...

appreciate the responses though :)

A Legends Transformer costs $7 and is around 8cm tall
A Deluxe Transformer costs $30 and is around 15cm tall
*Prices and heights vary; these are approximate averages

Also, the Legends set offers 7 Constructicons whereas the big Combiner Class one only has 6.

I've posted these pics up before, but here's what the Legends Constructicons look like separately:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y227/goktimusprime/Transformers/ezcollection_constructicons.jpg

...and here's what they look like combined as Devastator:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y227/goktimusprime/Transformers/th_devastator_robot.jpg (http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y227/goktimusprime/Transformers/devastator_robot.jpg)

You can also reposition it to have a more movie accurate ape-like stance:

If you want to see pics of the big Combiner Class Devastator you can check out the Can Devvy Eat It? (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=5889) thread. It has lots of pics of Devastator with other Transformers (and objects) which gives you an idea of the toy's size, which I must say is quite impressive. :) Here's (http://images.toywizard.net/0001/rotf-supreme-class-devastator-combiner.jpg) what the individual vehicles look like.

I got this link sent to me the other day:

http://www.yahobby.com/hasbro-transformers-2009-movie-legends-devastator-gift-p-898.html

Does this mean that we will start seeing the big little guy in stores soon?

Have many people bought from these guys before?

Now...I myself think the Legends Devastator looks amazing...
And the fact the little Constructicons have robot modes is
pretty impressive...

But...

The weakness of the Legends Devastator is he has pretty
much NO articulation...which the Supreme Devastator
does have in small amounts...mainly in the arms.

http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/3937/devy9.jpg

What I do not understand is why didn't someone have the
idea to take the Legends Devastator design and simply
make it bigger...allowing for even more detail and possibly
better articulation...

Another thing to consider isn't just the size but also the cost. A complete set of Legends Constructicons retails for 4410JPY ($53) whereas Combiner Class Devastator originally retailed at $239. The Legends are also more complex than the Combiner Class Constructicons, whose engineering make them seem like oversized Happy Meal Transformers. :( IMO the Legends set offers greater value for money than the Combiner Class.

I think the official story is that they didn't have enough time.

But I personally don't buy it... especially when the EZ Collection Constructicons came out fairly shortly after the ROTF Constructicons (Deluxe/Voyager) came out ... around the same time that they released Combiner Class Devastator. Even if time was that much of an issue, I'd much rather HasTak wait a few more weeks or a month or so and give us Scout, Deluxe or Voyager Class Constructicons that can combine. I reckon they could've if they really wanted to. Just my personal conspiracy theory. ;)

I have the super large Devastator and he is way too big. He cant fit in my cabinet assembled, so they are in vehicle mode!

I am looking forward to the smaller Devastator if it comes to OZ

Regarding the Legends Devastator, I came across a Chinese eBay seller that is selling many of them for half the average cost. Closing bids finish for $22-$25, link below:

Was wondering if anybody knows if it has been bootlegged already?

The same guy also sells 4gb Device Label Ravage. Did these ever get released in 4gb?

Yes they've been bootlegged already.

legend Devastator movie2 remake 7 in 1
each can be transformed and combine a Devastator

come with 7 sepetare transformers and 7 different instructions, without original heavy& useless box but under well packaged

I've copied and pasted that from his description with an emphasis on a key word that gives it away.

Also it makes you wonder why if the item is new, that it comes loose without packaging?

Thanks for the clarification!

Also, there has been other eBay TFs that are listed as "new, comes loose without packaging".

I bought a loose Universe Ratbat (purple repainted Cybertron Sideways/Galaxy Force Noisemaze) with that description for. It was sent from Hong Kong.

The figure was of quality plastic (much better than the crappy MISB Universe Blaster I got from Toys R Us), and with some limbs held with clear rubberband-thingys that you would normally expect to find on any new MISB transformer. It did arrive in alt. mode; this was strange because the Hasbro Target exclusive Springer vs. Rabat set has both figures displayed in robot mode within the box.

When I transformed it for my own display, it definitely has the distinct feeling of a transformer that has never been transformed before, i.e. unusually crisp joints.

Oh yeah, I got it for about $20 (nostalgic 1990's price for a deluxe). :o
