This episode marks the debut of Blitzwing and Lugnut.

Blitzy and Luggy come to earth looking for Megs and have some cool battles with the Autobots. Starscream makes his return looking for loyal soldiers, I look forward to seeing more of the Screamer. I liked this episode a lot.

Best episode so far. :)

Full of action and some mystery. Screamer at the end was unexpected and will complicate things for Megs. While the episode wacn't complicated it wasn't as juvenile as some of the others either - a straight forward story with room for development.

Sari was less annoying this time too :p

When the ark turned its defences on, my brother jokingly said that its fort max, but then I got thinking. Ratchet calls the Ark his "old friend" (or something to that point). Omega Supreme maybe?

Dunno, but I'd be mega surprised if it is a transformer as Ratchet said it was an ex-military ship that had its weapons disabled, so to me it's just a ship. But you never know, while repairing it with the key they might cause it to become sentient.

Great episode, blitzwing and lugnut are pretty cool. :)

Also I've been thinking lately, Sari might actually be some sort of advanced android that the professor made for a daughter. After reading the interview with her voice actor a while ago, and how the series is going in general......

Back in the first episode Optimus Prime tried to turn on the ship's "Omega" mode. Just saying... ;)

Good episode, Blitzwing amused me, and having him turn up at the end was great, gave the episode a true sense of foreboding.

Having the Autobots resort to using Omega Ark (what I will be calling it until it is proven one way or the other as to what it is) was nice too, keeps the Decepticons as a real dangerous threat the Autobots themselves cannot fight alone.

2 negatives for me:
a) Sarri and the vision. Not too clear on what happened after it was activated, and if Sarri thought it was real (I assume she did, since she tried to drown him) why didnt she tell Ratchet/ get him to investigate?
b) Poor Bulkhead still has next to no backstory or character development, and gets his rear bumper handed to him not only in battle, but also when playing with the cheating Sarri.

Sentinel Prime and co should be arriving soon!:D

I liked the hockey game (reminded me of the basketball game from G1) and the familar outfits of the construction workers.

Did anyone else keep thinking that Lugnut's eye was his nose and those smaller "eyes" were his actual eyes? Or was that just me?

I have seen it and I have to say that I was VERY impressed by this episode. It was in the same league as the Lockdown episode, which I have nothing but praise for.

Faith in Animated restored by 2 points :)

Unfortunately I fear that my faith on the series will go down again after what will likely be more than half a dozen crapstacular episodes (assuming that its following the same trend as before).

if its as good as lockdown, that's awesome!!! i've seen ldown, and love the fact that they are creating their own back story, even if its not that much so far.
great stuff.

Well I am Animated's biggest critic (/whiner :p) and the last episode wins my approval so it is very good :D

I also really loved this episode. It's great to see the decepticons kick some arse for and not just act like idiots only there for comic relief. Action scenes were really well done and i'm starting to like the animation style for the transformers, but i still can't stand the animation of the people. That said, i can't wait for the next episode :D

I really liked this ep too. Sari was really annoying at first with her selfish brattiness, but it was tolerable, and more importantly, she got over it. She had more character development in that ep than more Bulkhead has had in this entire series thus far. :(

Some of the animation was disappointing though, especially with the transformations. The Autobots' transformations were often visually omitted - like when they first roll out, you just hear them transform but you don't see it. And when they first confront the Decepticons, you see Optimus Prime transforming (stock footage) and you hear the others' transformation but you don't see it. And the Decepticons' transformations weren't that impressive either. This is cel animation, why are they cheaping out? Not even Beast Wars nor the 2007 movie was this cheap, and they were both uber-expensive CGI!

Also I've been thinking lately, Sari might actually be some sort of advanced android that the professor made for a daughter. After reading the interview with her voice actor a while ago, and how the series is going in general......
Some American fans have also been toying with this notion, but so far it seems to have been largely rejected by most fans as there's contradictory evidence against it, such as when Sari started aging rapidly from Destronium exposure (which only effects organics).

External flesh and blood, EG; terminator. ;)

I was thinking that too.

The speculation that she is a robot is fairly reasonable.

- No sign of the mother
- The Father is a robotics super genius
- She prefer the company of robots than people.
- Allspark just happened to choose her as soon as she came near it.
- In interviews, voice actors and writers are always saying that there is more to Sari than meets the eye.

well she could be a cyborg... but not a full android/robot.

- No sign of the mother
Ditto Spike and Buster Witwicky and Gou Shuuta. ;) I'm not including other kids whose parents are just never shown, iirc these are the only ones whose fathers have made prominent appearances with no sign of their mothers.

Uran'd! :p

Yeah, but that's because she's a social isolate... a problem that certainly isn't helped by the fact that she's freakin' home-schooled by a robotic teacher (in my experience students who've been home-schooled typically suffer from having really poor social interactive skills and tend to become isolates).

- Allspark just happened to choose her as soon as she came near it.
But all the Transformers are robots and it didn't choose them.

Hasn't shown so far... she just keeps being this brat that likes to play with her key no matter how many times others tell her not to... it's only after getting the crap scared out of her by the image of Megatron and nearly being killed that she's reconsidered playing with that thing. Dumbass.

I agree, the points that I made are highly speculative but still things within the series seem to be inclining towards the possibility that Sari is a cyborg of some sort.

When it comes to lack of mother on other characters such as Spike and Shutta, well the plot, setting and circumstances were radically diffferent and although Shutta's father comes close, he isn't portrayed as a socially isolated robotics super genius. I could be wrong, but didn't Gou mention his mother early in the series?

It is well within reason that the Skunk professor would indeed 'build' a kid.

GoktimusPrime

*lol* I love how people keep calling him the skunk professor. Kudos to roller for being the first to call him that. :D

I don't recall Shuta's mother ever being mentioned. Professor Go didn't seem to be an expert in robotics - just an all round wise-guy genius scientist dude (who always wore a lab coat even when he wasn't dealing with any hazardous materials).

I should also mention Dr. Onishi, Yuuki's father, from Car Robot (who, like Professor Go, also wears a lab coat 24/7 and is never seen dealing with hazardous materials) - there's no mention of Yuuki's mother. And he kinda likes AI-chan, who's an artificially intelligent hologram. ;)

I suspect that too. Hence why she's the guardian of the key. She's a robotic lifeform.

Back in the first episode Optimus Prime tried to turn on the ship's "Omega" mode. Just saying... ;)

That's what I thought when I saw the cannon too. Just looks Omega-ish. But like MV75 pointed out back in the first ep, it's supposed to be a non-miltary vehicle. Either way, I don't mind but the prospect of an Omega Supreme toy is exciting!

I liked the hockey game (reminded me of the basketball game from G1) and the familar outfits of the construction workers.

Definitely got that vibe too.

Did anyone else keep thinking that Lugnut's eye was his nose and those smaller "eyes" were his actual eyes? Or was that just me?

I really didn't notice there. I can't say the picture quality (watching it on YouTube) was that great either.

I think one of the things that really is gnawing at me is how inept this team of Autobots is. Not in a bad way, mind you. My concern is that their lack of ability to deal with any of the Decepticons so far is going to make it very hard for me to swallow if all of a sudden they start going toe to toe with Starscream, Lugnut and Blitzwing. They could barely handle Starscream on his own. I find it hard to imagine them dealing with all three. I hope that will be explained.

If many reinforcements arrive for an assist, I doubt I'll like that too much. I just hope the writers will give the Autobots a chance to grow into warriors at least.

Sari was annoying again but overall this was a great episode. I like Lugnut and Blitzwing. Blitzwing's three pronged persona is unique w/ the triple changer concept. Lugnut is a big fella but he isn't exactly dopey either. Better than I expected. May watch the next ep today too

To be honest, these Autobots are space bridge mechanics, not warriors. Optimus Prime has military training and Ratchet has some battle experience, but otherwise they're civilians. The series hasn't thrown enough Decepticons at them often enough to forge them into soldiers, unlike say the Maximals in Beast Wars who also started off as civilians (explorers) and were thrown into the Beast Wars and forced to adapt themselves as combatants.

Thats one thing that has bugged me. How did this assortment of characters get put on space bridge repairs? Are the Autobots short on mechanics? Take Prowl for example. Is he a space bridge mechanic who likes ninja stuff as a hobby or is he a ninja who did something naughty and his punishment is being put on a space bridge repair crew?

This is pushing it but maybe they are all military in the sense that they are military tradesmen specializing in repairs and maintenance rather than combat but still a branch of the Autobot forces?

They're clearly not part of the military - the relationship between Optimus Prime, Sentinel Prime and Ultra Magnus illustrates this.

He's a mechanic whose hobby is being a ninja (http://www.askaninja.com/). It's not an entirely ridiculous notion - nowadays martial arts commonly learnt as a hobby and form of civil self defence, no longer used in warfare (pugilism is no match against modern artillery). I admit that it's not as cool as other TF martial artists, who've all been trained combatants.
