A year he made up himself! Using something so arbitrary to decide that 1980 was in the seventies is an anomalous logistical leap.)

LOL... It's all good. It's actually the 1989 Chinese Hasbro reissue so it's legit (note the sticker on the top right and assortment code on the bottom right). For some reason the pic of the fake has been removed. I linked it to TFW so they must have deleted / moved it.

What I do like about the alternate transformation is that it means the two characters look a lot less like it's just the same guy who turned around and pulled back his toupée. They have different arm and leg configurations and are different heights - it makes the Decepticon army look not quite so stupid that they don't realise the two robots are the same bloke. :)

Picked up a Transformers Animated plate, cup, and drink bottle from Target the other day.

Also got a chrome Decepticon logo for my car which I just fitted. I placed it on the petrol cap cover in case it gets lifted and my car gets scratched. It would be easier to repaint rather than having to do a whole quarter panel. It's sad to have to do this, but I am aware of others on the board who have had theirs stolen.

I've read that the Korean versions of the Takara GF versions are exactly the same designwise (i.e the paint apps, chrome etc follow the same design pallete). For instance the korean wing saber has the gold n silver chrome and they even fixed the head defect that was present in the japanese ver.

Yeah I don't have a Takara one, but I have the other three Hasbro releases (along with an extra Galaxy Force one) so that should make up for it. :D

I was a bit naughty this week. After all my travelling in November, and the lead up to Christmas, I didn't have the time or money to keep up with TFs purchases. My JP Black Movie Optimus arrived on Monday, which is pretty fast for something that didn't cost much to ship.
Has the same sound chip as the regular (Hasbro) Optimus, which I guess the Takara ones had as well.
I was surprised to find inside the BluRay case, a flyer promoting the new Animated series for Japan in 2010, and a couple of stickers.

Two things amusing...
1 - I now own a PS3 game for TF2 and the BluRay as well, but don't have anything to play either of them on. :p
2 - In a few days time I should have a third version of the Movie Optimus Mould (the 2-pack with Jetfire is in transit), but still haven't actually sat down and taken the time to transform the one I got 7 months ago. :eek:

Did you receive the bonus Legends Stealth Bumblebee with your JP Black Movie Prime? It is indeed different from the Hasbro version (which has been released and bought by fans at Hong Kong TRUs).

Both JP Black Movie Prime and the 2-pack one have much tighter joints than Hasbro Prime, except for the knee caps.

Oh... My... God...

I totally missed that. I just went and had another look in the box, and sure enough, it was in there. When I pulled out the big boxed Optimus and the Movie, there were some bits of cardboard and a white block that I didn't get a good look at, but just thought it was a block of styrofoam to keep the stuff from moving around.

That is like, the best surprise I've had in ages... to find a toy that I wasn't even expecting (I had no idea that the 'bonus' toy with the DVD had it's own bonus toy - I thought Stealth BBee was just a JP TRU exclusive). That makes this limited edition toy even better value - take out the cost of the BluRay, the Legends figure and the shipping, and that Leader sized toy isn't too much above what some stores here charged for that size class.

That litttle find has just made my day. Thanks Kyle. :D

It took me about 40 minutes to transform him the first time and I was using instructions :o. But your superior transforming experience points (about +2350 greater than mine) should serve you well.

The Kabaya Candy Convoys, Fearswoop 3-pack, HA Skids, HA Sideswipe all arrived okay, but RobotKingdom sent me Clear Henkei Mirage instead of Starscream (I already have Mirage too), and the Movie Leader 2-pack with Op and Jetfire was crushed in transit (outer box was really squashed on one end, totally crushing in the whole front left half of the box. Fortunately I'm not a sealed collector, otherwise this would have been an expensive waste.

S'alright, I still have my original Mirage and Sunstreaker from my childhood. :) And before anyone asks, no sorry, I'm not selling these extras. My original Mirage is broken at the waist whereas this extra one isn't. I'm keeping them both so I can have one of each to display in robot and vehicle modes on my shelf. I don't intentionally collect doubles to do this, usually I do it when I get reissues. But since I got these babies for free (and we know that they won't ever be reissued), then yeah, I'm gonna keep them.

Universe Springer vs Ratbat and the deluxes Acid Storm, Sunstreaker, Tankor, Silverstreak, Prowl and Sideswipe.
Pretty ok with the price too, because I got them all from the same guy combined shipping made them only about AU$21 per figure MISB/MOSC.

Universe Hardhead, Skyfall and Powerglide arrived today (yesterday), which are the Walmart Ultra redecos that we aren't expecting here. Had trouble finding them on ebay, and often would be very pricey. Got these ones for a decent price though, working out to about AU$51 each with shipping, which is close to what Ultras often go for here, especially the store exclusive ones.

Today I would have said I got some more MISB/MOSC figures.
I got the Classics Megatron vs Optimus Prime pack, Universe deluxe Dinobot, Cheetor and Smokescreen.
But due to some idiot in the postal services employ I got a box of damp figures (see "I need to vent" for more).
So yeah, I'll probally either sell them, play around with them or just chuck them out (yeah, I'm that annoyed at the moment).
I like keeping the packaging, sorta hard to do if it's falling apart from wetness (in my experience, wet cardboard/paper never dries well).

Yeah it never does dry well but the best you can do is try to keep the packaging 'straight' as in its natural shape and allow it to dry and let fate take its course.

went to the perth nexus toy fair today and got myself a set of the icecream truck twins, deluxe mudflap and a diecast optimus prime from the first movie! almost got a legends devy, but it was being held for someone. and to those members who were behind the tables that think this story is familliar, yes it is, i realised about 10 mins after you told me to go on OTCA to talk to kyle about getting one that i was actually already a member and that i am always on here. i just had a massive mental blank because i saw legends devy!

It is totally Engrish. This is Budiansky Grimlock. There should be no comma anywhere between "me" and "Grimlock", they've put spaces before any sets of exclamation marks on the entire box and comics Grimlock has never said anything like "Humans are pest !!" Even at his least eloquent he eliminated verbs or pronouns or changed the case of subjective pronouns to objective ones, he didn't change plurals to singular. It's written by someone who can't properly write in English in the first place, let alone successfully imitate a dialect.

EDIT: and come to think of it, I doubt he would be meaning "Humans are a pest" anyway, he'd mean "Humans are pests." Which in Budiansky Grimlockese circa Marvel US #30-50 would be something along the lines of "Me Grimlock. Humans pests." :)

I can't remember exactly but I know I had that big of an order that near the end each extra thing that was added only had a very small postage charge.
