Listed on a couple of Online-stores (including one which has been known to lists things that are just rumours, just to be first to get money from desperate fans), so until it is listed somewhere official, or we see a sample, I'm not yet listing this as confirmed.

Besides, I can't imagine that a toy as fragile as MP Starscream would be cast in translucent plastics. Yes, the redeco is said to be Ghost Starscream, done in see-through plastics. A toy that often breaks just by transforming it, will now become more of a display item, as I wouldn't even wanna risk transforming a transluscent one at all.

No idea if this will be a general release item, or a limited release like the Grimlock redeco.

I think it will look nice, but will be an expensive display piece - a gimmick that should be left for a smaller, cheaper version of Starscream.

i dont know much about the MP line but if they are meant to be the best figures why do they always break???

It wasn't designed to be 'best' at being a playable TFs toy, it was designed to be 'best' at its displayability and detailing. I guess it's like those super-expensive, limited edition sports cars that rich people buy but rarely use, in case they scratch it/damage it - it is more for the collectability than its practical puprpose (toy to be played with, or car to be driven).

The MP Starscream mould is the exception. Other MPs aren't as fragile (although Megatron would be the second least durable) and are hardier as action figures. Kawamori Shouji seemed to be more concerned with creating a transformable display piece rather than an action figure. :( At the time Takara would probably justify this decision by saying that Masterpiece is part of their High End collectable lines which are marketed exclusively at mature collectors (ages 15+) and thus weren't expecting their customers to expect playability from the toy. A lot of people complained about it and HasTak have tried to improve on the MP Starscream design as all subsequent versions of that mould have featured improved durability such as the use of better plastic. :)

So I can see griffin's concern about a version of what is already a mould of dubious durability being made from entirely clear plastic... it may prove to be nearly as (or even more?) fragile than the original MP Starscream. :/

I suspect that this clear MP Starscream will also be very frail like his orginal green release. Clear plastic has never been very sturdy.

I prefer to get the clear henkei version, it would look awesome with Beast Wars figures.

I dont see the point, the mould doesn't really say Starscream to me, sure its a cool jet that changes into a robot, but it is juts not very Starscreamy IMO.

If it is gonna be a clear verion, thats a lot of transluscent plastic as well. Perhaps a little on the boring side.

Thanks Griffin + Gok on MP info, i still wanna collect them but i guess ill keep transformations at a minimum. :)
Henkie version is the best and is perfect for Beast Wars ghost Starscream!

I recommend getting either the Hasbro version of MP Starscream or the USA Edition (which is a Japanese variant of the Hasbro version). The Hasbro version features more Starscream-accurate colours and is made of more durable plastic. It's the original Takara Starscream (which you can immediately spot because it's green) that's notoriously fragile.

Here's a comparison between the two: Left = Hasbro, Right = Takara

P.S.: That Megatron gun came with MP Convoy.

I'm happy with my original Takara version, I see no need to buy another unless it's another character portrayed.

I hope there is a new MP for 2010, not just this one. Wouldn't mind a MP conehead or Rodimus however I think it will be shockwave

I have MP Starscream (US), Thundercracker and Skywarp (JPN) on display in robot modes. A ghost SC would interesting in the ranks.

If it is Shockwave that will make my day, I doubt it myself.

Yeah an MP Shockwave or Jetfire would be the next logical choice.

I wouldn't discount the possibility, you never know - a lot of people didn't think that Grimlock would ever happen.

I would also be very satisfied with an MP Wheelie :p

Wheelie would quite make my day, as long as he wasn't as big as the others, that would be wierd

I'm still waiting for MP Time Warrior damnit.
I think you might be waiting for a long TIME, which could be part of the conundrum:p

Although, theretically, isn't the original already a master piece? How could it be improved? It only has 1 point of articulation!;)
