This was supposed to be a Christmas present for a mate of mine - one who doesn't collect transformers, but likes some of the cool things I've shown him. I've shown him my older repaint of this mould - which he likes a lot - so for Christmas, I got him a Special Edition version of this and repainted it for him - took me a fair while to get this done what with the surgery and recovery as well - (that kinda derailed everything :\)

Anyhoo -

And here are a few shots that I tried to capture the paint-work :)
That's Tamiya Red, White Knight Chrome, and Tamiya Spray Metallic Blue making up the primary colours. There's also a healthy amount of silver and gunmetal making up a lot of the little details :)

Thats quite nice, I can only imagine that may have taken some time to complete.

Very nice, I like the extra bits done in silver.

So what will you do with your original version of this mould? Perhaps repaint it as Ultra Magnus or Nemesis Prime? :)

Thanks Azrael :D Took more time cause I couldnt really do anything for most of a week at the end of last year post toe-operation :b
Otherwise - it's just the having to wait patiently for paints and parts to cure that's long :D

Thanks Gamblor :) This toy has SO MUCH extra detail that it's kinda cool when you see it and can highlight it :)

Heh - My original is staying with me - and this, as the topic says - is a christmas present that's going to one of my best mates :D
So - no ^^;

Ah right, I interpreted "supposed to be" as meaning that you weren't going ahead with giving it as a gift. My bad. :p That's a neat idea for making a gift... makes it unique (and obviously you invested more time and effort beyond simply making a purchase). :)

Dude, that looks awesome!

Great present - hopefully your mate will appreciate all the time and effort gone into it.

Couple of questions, did you spray paint or brush paint it? And did you pull it apart to paint?

Very nice.

Just tell him to be careful of the smokestacks. He'll put an eye out with those :D
